Jeremy Soule: BALDUR’S GATE: DARK ALLIANCE FAN REMASTER and EDIT (mp3 VBR-0)

This was a labour of love inspired by other users taking Jeremy Soule releases and remastering them. I
noticed how hard it was to find the Interplay version of this release and thought i should compile my own
mix, using the same track sequence and no sfx. The only leaks I could find so far are available on
Youtube, but those sounded a little hollow. Because this never got an official release beyond a rare
limited 50 unit promo and public mp3 post that no longer exists, I decided to go to various sources to look
for better versions of these tracks. I looked to the game itself, and thanks to VAGGUESS/ADPCM
Player and Alpha23’s streamed vgm thread, I got 99% of the tracks. I had to borrow from Youtube (27.
Distant Realms) to get a sfx free cinematic, and some battle music endings. So there was some editing
involved to combine cues just as Soule did to recreate the same track durations. Besides these, I made no
other adjustments to the sound, as it is already an improvement IMHO. I hope this post will help to get
this score into more homes. Enjoy!!!

The praise is rightly deserved. I took the liberty to have some listens and compare your work with what’s being offered on the promo, and i can safely admit that the quality of your work is superior. Hopefully the users will stop searching for that crappy promo, now, this does a fine job at "recreating"… and blowing it.

Thanks for this, it sounds great. I was looking through some of the music I need to organize on my HD and realized somewhere along the line I lost the good rip from the rare CD release. Glad to have found this instead!
