That would be wonderful : there are tons of italian soundtracks released every year but because the movies are quite confidential we have absolutely no idea how do they sound ! Very few small labels like Quartet usually offer sound samples, which is very usefull.

Couldn’t agree more ! They do a terrific job. And thanks for remind me the Youtube option : I simply often forget to check out !

Yes. that’s very true. I don’t like blind buys, so I actually ordered a bunch of CDs from Quartet based on the lengthly samples they provide on their website. Let’s be frank, most of us never saw these obscure european movies, so samples from a CD releases are a must. I actually discovered one of my favourite release of this year, and it’s from Quartet: Luis Bacalov – Coup de Foudre. Wow, what a fantastic score that is. I may upload it in the future 🙂

Thanks! The Italian composers were so prolific…it is definitely nice to hear the material before deciding to buy…otherwise I would stick to the Hollywood crowd I know out of fear of buying something I don’t like at all. Micalizzi is a good composer, but I wouldn’t have bought this one sight unseen…now I can give it a fair shot

Can you tell me where? I’ve looked online and haven’t had any luck finding the label that put it out.

Wiggums: Yeah, you can buy it from Beat Records. They’re based in Italy, and have no problem with shipping CDs worldwide. Here is the link for Stridulum: original soundtrack – Stridulum (CD) – Beat Records Company (http://www.beatrecords.it/shop.asp?idprodotto=CDDM183&lingua=e)

Also, if you are in USA, your best option is to use Screenarchives: http://www.screenarchives.com/title_detail.cfm/ID/15009/STRIDULUM/
