Hello, i beat FFX the us version. trained for hours and hours for dark aeons only to find out i had the version of that game that didnt include the final bosses.
I’ve been lookin on the web for the right version of the game. i ran into an issue that seems to inform me that i may need a japan imported ps2 to play that version of the ffx.
anyone confirm? is there a version of the game that DOES include those bosses thats playable on the US PS2? or do i have to import the game/ps2 just to have the full experiance of ffx
Any help is appriciated. ty

The European/UK/Australian (PAL) version of FFX also features the Dark Aeons and Penance in it as well – plus it has the advantage over the Japanese version of having English audio and text. The downside is though, it requires a European (PAL) PS2 to run – along with probably also a voltage adapter too if you want to use it in the US.

As far as I’m aware there is no US version that includes these features sadly.

There’s a gamefaqs faq that says the same as Enkidoh is saying.

Sad as I recall seeing an International version at gamespot a few years back but I didn’t buy it.

I have a backwards compatible PS3 but it won’t play on that either according to the faq.

There’s hints out there that Square may be considering an HD version of FFX:

Final Fantasy X HD Announced For PS3 & Vita – News – www.GameInformer.com (http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/09/14/final-fantasy-x-hd-announced-for-playstation-3-and-vita.aspx)

Whether the NA version will include Penance and the Dark Aeons hasn’t been announced yet but we hope it will.

According to this faq:

GameFAQs: Final Fantasy X (PS2) FFX International Changes by _Mace_ (http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/197344-final-fantasy-x/faqs/41079)

you would have to modify your ps2 slightly to play an international version.I wouldn’t do it though. There may be youtube videos showing you how to do it and where to get the tops to replace the one on your current ps2.

as for me I’ll wait and see what the remastered version has. I may buy it if it has Penance and the Dark Aeons.I suspect it’ll be out sometimes next year.

Frankly the aeons frustrated me, it’s the first time I gave up with the bonus boss on final fantasy. (and I’ve played completely ff6, ff7, ff8, ff9) .Lengthy play to increase stats of players.
I was just bored at the end . I was stuck with the "three sisters" I don’t remind exactly the name of this aeon, but you should guess what I mean.
And if you just end the game with big stats this looks like a joke, you attack blindly the final boss, after 1 or 2 hits it’s killed. No strategy, nothing.
I’m thinking the game is better without the aeons, because what a loss of time.
