ELECTION (promo score by Rolfe Kent) (FLAC)

Here is Rolfe Kent’s unreleased score to Alexander Payne’s 1999 comedy film.
The commercially-released soundtrack on Sire Records was a collection of pop vocals + a 7:30 instrumental suite.
This is the score only, quirky and tuneful music in Kent’s best (early) tradition.

As you might know, the commercial OST was all vocals except one instrumental track. Zomba is a well-known agency that handles film composers and has put out lots of CDs to promote the music of their clients. I’ve never seen a CD with a Zomba cover (like this one) that had any marking to suggest it was geared towards the Motion Picture Academy (FYC). So my guess is that this is just an unreleased score Zomba sent out to music magazines, reviewers, radio stations etc. to promote the composer. That’s all the info I can offer!
