Why the hell is this section in existence? You know how many websites go down because of crap like this? It’s been mentioned time and time again how much trouble the industry is in and yet this site is going to contribute to that more than it already is? It’s one thing to distribute soundtracks.OSTs are a niche, one that wasn’t that profitable even with sites like this. It’s another to distribute whole episodes.

I’m sorry but I must disagree with this. This isn’t just reprehensible, it’s almost like suicide right now in the current state of affairs. This is asking to be shut down.

I have to say I agree. I did a double take on this, thinking I had hallucinations. It could be a good idea if it was on a separate site, but this is putting a crosshair right on the forum.

Spread the word! Tell your friends about us. The more popular we get, the more video game music, anime music and media in general we’ll be able to host. In the future we plan on expanding past our current offerings. We won’t just stop at video game soundtracks, artbooks and media– we’re already starting to add anime soundtracks to our collection. In the future we plan on expanding to whole anime episodes, downloads of abandonware games, and just about anything else you can think of related to video games and anime.

What surprises me is to use the forum for it. I still think a separate blog would be…more accurate (and less dangerous for the forum). There are already dozens of place on the web to get anime from, between Bakabt and Tehparadox. I don’t see the need to endanger the forum by uploading stuff that even Bakabt prohibites (in other words: school Rumble).

There is a separate blog/place, already, from my understanding: Download Rahxephon | Download Anime (http://www.ffshrine.org/download-anime/download-rahxephon/), stuff’s being reposted here to get more views/downloads, I believe.

Anyway, that places you mentioned have been around for a while, if I’m not mistaken (and they’re even offering more "dangerous stuff" than this community)…. Why the heck would the Shrine go down so fast?

They are offering stuff alright, but not everything. take Bakabt: DO NOT UPLOAD – BakaBT Wiki (http://wiki.bakabt.me/index.php/DO_NOT_UPLOAD). As for the paradox, I don’t know how they do it…

And the shrine has already a history of troubles with some publishers. I guess Sarah thought about it before though. But I’m definitely not sure that posting the links on the forum is a good idea. Time will tell, I guess. :itsamystery:

Eh, you said it yourself: this forum had its share of troubles, and I believe that the staff knows better than everyone else on here about it, yet this is happening. I’ll admit I don’t know much about this stuff, but maybe legally-wise the problems would be almost the same even if the episodes got posted only on a separate blog… Don’t they still contact the domain’s owner/staff about the infringing material? What’s the difference in being contacted because of a blog post, or a community’s thread when both rely on the same domain?

Yeah, guess you’re right. anyway, time will tell, and as nothing uploaded interests me, I guess I shouldn’t feel overly concerned 😀
