Do you know if it exist a bootleg or unofficial version of the soundtrack from the 1984 short movie Frankenweenie, by director Tim burton? The music was by David Newman. If it exist, somebody could provide a link to download, please?
Thanks!

All I had to do was search Google for "Frankenweenie Soundtrack" and chose the fourth result down…Google is very useful; take advantage of this monstrous search engine. 😉

Here’s something I can share on "Frankenweenie" (Tim Burton’s 1984 short film)…..
The 5 tracks found on bootleg CDs were reportedly taken from a mono cassette recording, with poor sound.

The score was composed by both David Newman and Michael Convertino (they have done others together too), though many sources only give credit to David Newman.

Convertino composed track 1 ("Laboratory") and track 3 ("Windmill"), which we know because those tracks appear in wonderful stereo sound on the Convertino compilation CD "Music for Film." Newman presumably composed tracks 2, 4 and 5.

Since I have the "Music for Film" discs, you can find the 2 Convertino Frankenweenie tracks (in great stereo sound) here…

Great stuff… I had these tracks in poorer sound. I knew these were the ones Convertino was supposedly responsible for, but I can’t hear that Convertino sound in the cues at all (although I do love them).

Looking forward to hearing the rest of your Convertino stuff, yepsa. I haven’t even seen a tracklisting for the 5 discs, so I don’t know if a lot of it is from the officially released CDs or if it was all from his vaults. Were they put out with proper cases and artwork?

Currently trying to see if anything can be salvaged from the DVD of Convertino’s 2011 comeback score Wake Wood. There is SFX and the odd bit of dialogue that wont be removable I don’t think (it’s my first rip), but a lot of it does sound fantastic. I hope he’s back for good.

McD: Thanks for your interest. I sent you a PM with notes about this particular Convertino 2-disc set, which appears to be an official promo release. Lots of the music has been commercially released, but there are many rarities. I plan to upload it soon to the Film Score Hunt v2 Thread.

That link no longer works. Can someone please re-upload it?
