Another Cannon Group collection with five individual scores of vastly different character and merit.

Michael Linn’s "Allan Quartermain and the Lost City of Gold" consist mostly of bridges he wrote between cues
from the Goldsmith score for "King Solomon’s Mines", which was being re-used for the back-to-back-shot sequel.
The CD contains almost all of the material used also in the La-La-Land release, which seems to indicate that’s all there is.
Poledouris’s "Making the Grade" is well-known and has since been re-released individually, but the remaining
three suites all contain previously unreleased material, some of it very nice (like the 20-minute Piovani).

Enjoy – And Saying "Thanks" Never Hurt Anyone!

I remember walking home through my regular Sunday market years and years ago, and by chance happening to notice a stallholder with a single carton on his stall. It was crammed with this CD and its companion, the one featuring the Charlie Bronson Cannon scores. He was trying to sell them to a largely disinterested public for just 25p each (about 40c). Of course, I thought I’d died and gone to heaven! Ah, happy days.

I second maav33’s petition, especially since Piovani is one of the best and most underrepresented composers in the Italian cinema.
