From Fife and Drum
US Marine Band

The US military maintains several musical ensembles, mostly consisting of symphonic bands, but also including some jazz bands and string ensembles. The premiere US military bands are the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, and Coast Guard bands. There are also many other bands organized at military bases around the US. Many of these organization produced recordings that are distributed to schools, libraries, and other such institutions (although some companies are new selling CD-R copies to the public).

I’d like to present one of these recordings by the "President’s Own" United States Marine Band, From Fife and Drum. This was their first CD recording and features recordings spanning a time frame from 1890 to 1988. Many early recordings are featured here, and some of the earlier ones have expectedly low fidelity. Booklet, tray, and CD label scans are included. If there is interest in this release, I’ll consider uploading additional military band albums.
