I’ve just reviewed the newest entry in the series, Super Street Fighter IV, you can read that review here! Johnny Mercyside: Game Review: Super Street Fighter IV (http://johnnymercyside.blogspot.com/2011/10/game-review-super-street-fighter-iv.html)
Nothing wrong with that, but it does mean my interest has waned in these kinds of games. Because they require such dedication to master, and since RPGs also need this, I just don’t have the time to devote to keeping up in both genres.
Anyway, I’ve always been a Ryu fan. I played him almost exclusively in the original SF2 and SF2 Turbo. Some claimed that Ken was just the same character but better, but I found that Ryu’s quicker recharge on his fireballs made him a better all round fighter. As the series went on, and had spin-offs, the two characters became more unique (but I still always liked Ryu better – his Ice Dragon Punch is just awesome in Marvel Vs StreetFighter.)
Other than that, I always liked Sagat and Vega (the spanish bull fighter, not the pyscho-crusher guy – he’s named differently in certain parts of the world). I don’t really care for Akuma much, but the Raging Demon is such a hilarious move. BZZZZT – dead.
