Chronos X’s Best of Rockman X Music Thread

Hi there; I’m a fan of the OST’s from the original Rockman X games (the ones I grew up with). As awesome as the Capcom Music Generation soundtrack compilation is, it just wasn’t doing it for me: some songs are missing, at least one track was defective, and NO bonus remixes! In an effort to fix these minor defects, I took the liberty of compiling the audio I already had and adding some stuff to spruce it up; well, that’s enough of a harangue for tonight, so without further ado…

Chronos X’s Best of Rockman X Music Thread

Ground rules:

1. I intend to cover Megaman X1 through 6, finishing up with a bonus disc containing the music to Maverick Hunter X and the two Extreme side games. Whether I make further discs after that is highly unlikely at the moment, since I don’t know/care enough about newer games like Command Mission and X7-8 to give them a place here. That’s not to say they lack their particular merits, but this thread is for the first and second generation sidescrollers for SNES and PSX, so please don’t request those other ones.

2. Most of the in-game audio comes from the Capcom Music Generation set: missing and defective tracks were added and replaced as needed, and all known music belonging to the corresponding games is included in their corresponding disc.

3. I added whatever bonus VGM remixes I could find that met my particular standards for quality, disc duration, availability (can’t give what I don’t have, after all), and overall likeability (very subjective stuff, I know). I claim no credit for creating or arranging any of these pieces: that goes to the corresponding remixer/arranger and, obviously, the original music composers and dear ol’ Capcom. No copyright infringements intended; if anyone has any legitimate complaints about this, let me know and I’ll take the necessary countermeasures.

Could someone point me to Rockman X hacks with good soundtracks? I’m currently working on what I intended to be the last disc (contains MHX and Extreme 1 & 2, but I won’t be able to fit it all in the same place, so I need material to finish the seventh and begin an eighth one. If any of you could also point me to good or at least promising game sound remixes, that’s be awesome as well.
