Nope… I’ve done a thorough check on the link and it’s still valid.
Rango Demos? Awesome! I’d be interested if anyone can fill me in on this too, and if anyone saw the movie I’d like to know how it was. Thanks!
Of course it is… it’s dead for everyone… it’s Megaupload, and they’ve been gone for months.
That’s cool, but I was talking about the content, not the download link. I grabbed this when it was new. So, is there anyone who can help me, or are the next several posts just going to become "Please re-upload this."? Sorry to sound so blunt.

1. Comment: tracks 32 and 33 on Piano’s upload both have the exact same name, and they are both in mono. But you see, I thought that was actually mono duplicated across two stereo track…No. Even though I downloaded this when it was new, it took me until last week to take a look at some of the tracks in Audacity. Tracks 32 and 33 are both singular, mono tracks. Surprise, surprise! If you put them together, to create a stereo track, it actually is in stereo! Now, I’ve run into some weird anomalies in my day, but not anything quite as strange as that.
2. Question: Are these demos complete? I know that the cue numbers skip around, but I figure some of that can be accounted for with the inclusion of pop songs (if pop songs were used in the movie). To anyone who knows anything about slate numbers and their purpose, is it realistic for there to be large gaps in the numbering? Or, are these demos incomplete like the first set of Pirates 4 demos (the 41-track set) we received?
3. Question: Can anyone help me organize the cues given to us by Magic Box Music and Geoff Zanelli? I know the OST release was nearly as bare-bones as PotC4, and even worse, some of the tracks have dialogue overlaid on top of the music (I mean: really?!). I think Zanelli’s contributions alone effectively doubled the size of the OST, but I don’t know whether there are duplicates or not. I also don’t know where this bonus stuff fits in with Piano’s demos.
So, to anyone who can help answer any of these questions, it would be much appreciated!

These demos are incomplete. I watched the film yesterday to compare the demos against the score as heard in the film. There were no pop songs included in the film (not any modern day pop songs anyway). There were a couple of source cues but there is quite a lot of music missing from the demos. I would estimate that the demos are just a little bit more than halfway complete. Some of the gaps in the slates make sense while others do not. I guess I just don’t understand the numbering system.

Yes, I’ve got all this taken care of, as well. Magic Box Music’s cues are both on the OST. Zanelli’s stuff is a mixed bag: one or two tracks are on the OST, one is a longer version of a track found on the OST, a couple are cut down versions of tracks that could be found in this set of demos, while others weren’t even to be found on the demos. While the dialogue issue may be distracting to some, it makes sense: this is a comedy album and it has a similar arrangement style to to another western comedy–"The Three Amigos". Fortunately, the demos provide an acceptable substitute for most of the music with dialogue overlaid. I have not done it yet, but I am now in a position where I could combine the OST, Zanelli’s tracks, and the demos into a comprehensive set of music.
