I used Foobar2000 and the Foo_gep audio emulation.
I looped all the loop-able songs twice and added a 10sec fade-out.
So I took the GBS files, loaded them in Foobar2000, rendered them in 48khz/24-bit.
Exported to .wav
Mastered them with all analogue equipment and dithered to Redbook with highest quality settings on iZotope Ozone 5 so you can be sure it sounds identical to the output of my hardware.
If you want a list of the hardware used, check out my Metroid Prime OST Remaster.
Yup, so I wasn’t sure to call this a remaster, or a master since it has never been mastered, but has been released numerous times (Not in this quality though)
This is also the first true stereo version of the soundtrack. This is also the first complete soundtrack from this game that was done right. Well, at least of what I could find.

Part 2: http://www.mediafire.com/?rmzt112ztvba7m9
(Couldn’t find FLACs)
Tracks are numbered, tagged, and ready to be put on any mp3 player etc. Compressed with LAME 3.98 highest quality encoding engine at 320kbps bit-rate for maximum quality and portability. Enjoy!
EDIT: I just realised something…

This contains both the GBS, and the M3U playlist. The M3U contains tagging and timing info to each of the individual GBS tracks, so that, when you play the GBS file in foobar, it has tagging, AND times. I got this from http://gbs.joshw.info/ — most of these have M3U files with their GBS sets (not all, but most of the popular games do, anyway, such as "Yoshi" <____<).
If you wish to add a bit of stereo-ness to other-wise mono tracks, tick the "Effects" box, and adjust the "Echo depth" to your liking. Obviously, if you use any thing that involves converting to mono, this is useless, otherwise, it’s pretty cool. At the moment, I have treble and bass at max, and echo depth at about 60%.

I will probably end up doing that when I release the FLAC version in a few months.
Haha, same here, I actually purchased the game and a Gameboy Color a month ago and when I turned it on, I felt the same way. I hope/glad this little present serves it’s purpose. =)
Thanks man! You sure live up to your name!
Thanks man! You sure live up to your name!
Haha, thanks man! After all my projects are complete (A month or so) I’m gonna redo this with each track loped twice and a 10 sec fade-out added. =)
I just did this little project for myself, and decided to put it up haha.
I just did this little project for myself, and decided to put it up haha.
Really? That be great! And I thought it would be too much to ask. 😀
Its really not much to ask haha, but I’m so busy, don’t expect this done anytime soon…. I wish I could spend all day working and getting all this music stuff done, but Im so busy with college admissions etc. Hopefully I can start college as a freshman in January, and skip my entire senior year since I got all my credits done as a junior. 🙂 I’ll try my best to fit in this project into my schedule…
My pleasure! 😀
Also, for those who actually played pokemon yellow with headphones, how do i get the tracks in stereo like you could do in the game? I would prefer that over a mono mix any day.
The Echo depth essentially increases the amount of echo, but also increases the amount of stereo.
I believe the 2 Square Channels are panned to the left and right respectively, and the Bass is inverted in one side, giving it that surroundy effect.
Also, set the sample rate to 48000 Hz for awesome rates obviously.
NVM, I got it. =D This is gonna be the best Pokemon Yellow Soundtrack Release EVER!!!
Arg, everything is hard panned left and right. Nothing in Center… Instant headache….
Alright, now… How do I get to the setting in foo-gep? When I right click all i get it the about and remove selection, and to select if there are diffferent types of waves in the view menu.
NVM, I got it. =D This is gonna be the best Pokemon Yellow Soundtrack Release EVER!!!

You know I just burst out laughing…. I’m referring to the red part.
Hmm, just think… there’s like 27 days paft until Christmas….. I paft Sonic Generations on the 3DS playing because I wanted to listen to the Emerald Coast Act 2 theme… and then I got a record breaking time of over 9 minutes….. should I stop with the teasing :P?
Anyway…. yesh…. I might just do a custom stereo re-mix of the soundtrack. After-all, I am pokemon’s biggest fans… >.>
But how do I get to the options for this plugin so I can get everything sampling at 48khz…
Oh, and am I going to have to export each song manually, or is there a automated way to export all 4 channels as separate channels for each song? XP
EDIT: Nvm, I found it, but how do I make it loop twice? Use Audacity? I was thinking just find the longest song, set the foo-gep to play for that lon with no fadeouts, and loop it manually in audacity…

IF you already have the GBS set AND the M3U file then you don’t need this. If you only have a GBS file, then I’d download this (including the GBS file, since they have to be in the same directory, and the filename has to match what’s in the M3U file)
What the M3U file does in this case, is basically tags and times all of the tracks in the GBS set, so that, as long as there’s an M3U file that’s in the same director as the GBS set, AND the name of the GBS file matches the name of the GBS file in the M3U file, then when you play the GBS set in foobar, it’ll be tagged and timed (hopefully).
Here’s exactly what the M3U looks like in NotePad, for example (and is also the best method for changing the tagging and timing):

Most of it should be self explanatory, such as the GBS file name next to each track.
After this, the next number is the number in the GBS set … if you notice, the numbers are out of order — this is because the GBS set by default is out of order, and essentially this re-orders them in a more chronological order.
Then you have the title (including the composer in this case), followed by the actual length, then some commas, and then the fade out.
In this case, the M3U is already tagged and timed, and ordered correctly. So all you need is to download that file in the link and hooray. I’m assuming they’re 2x looped. The ones that fade out have a fade out length of 10 seconds, which is pretty much normal.
I’m just trying to figure out how to loop these tracks… 😉
Use the GBS set that’s contained in that ZIP file. The M3U, as I said, is to correctly time them (for 2x loops), and tag them, with appropriate titles, and also to re-order them in a more chronological order as most game soundtracks should be.
I’m just trying to figure out how to loop these tracks… 😉
Yeah I gathered. Considering that you are aware that they are 2x looped and then asked how to loop them 😛
Pokemon Yellow OST rendered in 48khz – 32-bit
Saved as .wav
Mastered [Is now in real and proper stereo (After 8 hours of straight work, all tracks panned etc)]
Saving as HQ 44.1khz, 16-bit dithered with Ozone 5…

assett1: *turns round* My friends! … *some time later* — Please, can you give me five minutes?

*turns round* My friends! …
So, is this soundtrack uploading? And after this, will their be some Corruption?
I’m guessing when you originally posted that at 10:43 pm (UK time, for those who are getting confused), it said "Uploading soon" or something, and now you changed it to "Uploading…." 😛
Also, for lulz, here’s my pathetic attempt at "custom stereofication":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQpxrrO7ac4
Also, you can probably guess how I did that, but if not, basically I took each of the 4 channels, then split the left and right channels for each of the …channels… (tracks?), and then manually lowered the volume of the left part over a certain part of the track, then did the same with the right track, then again, creating that kind of "left right left right" pattern you hear in the intro, and generally did that kind of thing through out the song.
Wait, Modifying Post? This totally doesn’t mean you’re modifying the post to post the links does it?
I actually expreimented with that many times haha. It’s quite fun. ^^
100+ downloads n no comments? 🙁
🙂 hope you enjoy!
\^__^/
Thanks man!
Thanks man!
^^ I’m happy you enjoyed it! 😀
Would really love a remaster of MP3 Corruption if at all possible, as I’m sure you’ve heard a hundred times already.
No, it’s not Metroid Prime 3: Corruption….
OK, I’m joking. It is.
After that, Majora’s Mask, FFVII, FFVIII and FFIX.
Would really love a remaster of MP3 Corruption if at all possible, as I’m sure you’ve heard a hundred times already.
Haha, thanks. 🙂 I’m thinking of starting a FB page actually. Also, I’m currently working on corruption. 🙂
Thanks 🙂

Assett1 has simply left the entire forum and website because he felt he had committed so much that he was simply unable to work up to his expectations he had created.
I, his mentor in audio has retired in the studio environment and Kris asked me to drop by, give the news to the forums and ask if I could finish his huge project for him. Kris is now working full time in the studio with a band a week. Not only that but he is pursuing a double major in school and has found that he has little to no time to work on side projects. He said, with a small tear in his eye, that he misses you all and would like me to take his place.
I agreed that I would slowly but surly finish up his project with the Metroid Prime Trilogy and his list of other projects.
I hope you all forgive him and start looking forward again to these releases: Majora’s Mask, some Pokemon Games (Fire Red, Leaf Green, and Emerald), as well as Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX.
The releases will be slow but will be done.
Thanks!

Lecri can you please repost your download?
… And thanks for sticking around waiting for everything on this side to get together.

Sounds great! Can’t wait!

I forgot to add that I was hoping you could re-master the FireRed/LeafGreen OST. We got the full rip (and I’m gladly appreciated), yes, but it’s not the best/cleanest that we’ve aquire…
How can someone who "didn’t already download this" reupload it?
It was a great release but those mediafire links have been dead for ages, it would be a shame if you couldn’t download it again.
I’ve been trying to fit in this project in as a side project, but due to time restraints, I havn’t been able to take up 2 projects at once. Since the Metroid Trillogy project is complete and I have an open space for projects and I’ve been wanting to take this one up. The only problem is that I need somebody to upload a gamerip in lossless with each track repeated and faded out. If somebody could upload that on this thread, I could jump up on this as soon as they’re up.
Just a question about the audio settings…
Firstly, I’m assuming you’ll want the frequency to be 48000 Hz, right?
However, the plugin I use for GBS files also has settings for bass, treble and ‘echo’.
The ‘echo’ basically sets the default panning for the 2 square channels to either side, and the PCM channel to have a surround/inverted effect, as well as adding a slight echo to the whole thing. The higher the echo level is, the more ‘surrounded’ the sound is….
To give you an idea of what the echo effect sounds like: Out of the Woods (Day) – Wario Land 3 Music Extended – YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyxpY4B87fs)
Normally, I have the bass and treble up to 100%, and the Echo at 50%, which IIRC is what I set it for that track in the video. However, if you want I can just have the bass and treble up, or even no settings at all, but I’m waiting until I know before converting the files.

If you could do this it would be awesome! I prefer to stay as close to source as possible meaning no extra tweaking or adding anything different to the music, I’ll be happy just to get the files in top quality!
