I just hope I didn’t fuck up with EAC. well, I did. the log file is a little weird but I made a mistake when I ripped the CD, cancelled, restarted so the log contains some of the infos twice. in French :))

Would anyone like a 100% perfectly ripped copy of this album with log and cue files? If so, let me know. I own this album and can trump the above user’s upload. After analyzing the files from his upload with Adobe Audition, some of the tracks are questionable as to whether they are actually lossless or not.

Audiochecker. doesn’t give always accurate results. And this album is from 1994.

So why use it if it’s inaccurate?

Adobe scans of the spectral view is preferred.
And you can always use TAU Software’s "auCDtect".

(with auCDtect you have to convert to .wav (lossless to lossless has no effect on results) and use it as a command line)

Much more efficient than Audiochecker.

There’s also the matter of using EAC to rip your CD, with proper configurations (about 2-3 preferred configurations out there).
The newest versions support .log files with it’s own CRC to ensure that the log hasn’t been tampered in any manner.
It also has AccurateRip results.

And it doesn’t really matter how old the music is, the only thing that will affect the outcome is how well you’ve maintained the disc.
The better the condition, the less errors in the ripping process.

And always remember to send your rip results to contribute to the AccurateRip database; this helps others find out if they did a good rip or a shitty one.

Edit: and if you downloaded it from a different place, a forum, emule, torrents.
Make sure to keep the .cue files and the rip log.

Different sources may have fake rips.
(fake lossless; mp3’s burned to CD then ripped in FLAC)

"not my rip" is a good cause for concern.
"personal rip" is a good sense of security.
having the cue and log files are really good to determine the authenticity of your claim.

And at this moment i am not using that class on my ip. That is different than the mentioned on the screenshot. Screenshot shows one based in people which had my same address before. Certainly with my same internet provider.

And believe, depending how big is the network of a internet provider, the IP changes in every class of an IP Address (even on class B and C which is X.X.*.* or A.A.A.*)

For a big forum with too many users, especially from my country, it’s very usual

Yes, the Dominion Flac rip I posted is a "true" flac rip. I ripped it with foobar2000, as I’m not entirely accustomed to EAC. It has not been downloaded elsewhere, it is not a fake flac rip, and it is not an upload I took somewhere else. :). I don’t even know if there is a way to generate cue files with foobar, as I switched from Winamp 3 months ago.

I do have the CD (and I got it for a rather cheap amount of money considering its age), cost me 25€ in a french shop called "manga-shop". I even have a nice invoice to prove my claim, and my bank account is 30.90€ euros poorer. what with shipping fees. I’m not a big fan of the Image cd system, So most of the time I just rip the thing to flac using the same kind of track settings I would with an mp3 rip.

And anyway, Orie can confirm I posted this somewhere else 2 or 3 weeks ago. It wasn’t supposed to make it to the shrine, so ungrateful little trolls could take it and get the glory on other forums.

Oh, I wasn’t flaming you. I was just pointing out to good ol’ whats-his-face that the rip he snagged from Emule better not be my rip. It turns out that it isn’t and some of the tracks in general are questionable as to whether they are actually lossless. So don’t worry. You and me are right as rain in my books. Rip away. And if you don’t have time, mine is already ripped and I can post it. No worries.

Coolness. Well, Rip was actually posted yesterday night a mere hour I think before he who shall not be named posted his "rip". mine is already in the Opening post of this thread, and somewhere on the last page of the Lossless thread… :D.

I think I’ll try to re-rip it with EAC, to see if there’s a quality difference. :). Then again , might not notice them with my headphones :rolleyes:
