Howard Shore – The Lord of the Rings Trilogy FYC Academy Promo Scores?

I have recently taken up a hobby collecting any and all FYC Academy Promo Scores. I was going through my little collection last night, and thought something was missing. Then it hit me: The LOTR Trilogy. The Fellowship & Return of the King have both won the Oscar for Best Original Score, but not The Two Towers. But I have no doubt it got nominated, though. That being said – does anyone happen to have any of the promos that are put together for consideration for an Oscar? If anybody has an FYC Academy Promo for ANY of these – PLEASE, let me know. Well said. And some FYC promos include film versions of the tracks. This is why I so desperately wanted the TRON: Legacy FYC Promo up until Metrotokyo ripped the Blu-ray. I wanted the film version of "Disc Wars", which I think was included on it. I’m also looking for the WALL�E FYC and several others. It’s just something nice to have. I don’t care if I’ve never seen the film or don’t like the composer, I still want all the FYC Promos I can get my hands on.

It’s a collection. Sorta like me and my Horner/TV theme collections. I grab them just to have them. We all have one….

Yeah, but that track list just matches the OST’s track list. As Faleel says, it’d be nice to have the film versions of some tracks, though. I know there were a few included in the Rarities Archive, but not all of them. What I’ve been after is the film version of "A Far Green Country" from Return of the King, as well as the film edit version of "The Crack of Doom". Yeah, I know: it could probably be remixed, and I have tried it myself, but…whatever.

And babydoll’s right: everybody has their thing. I’ve gotten into a mode of downloading Hans Zimmer stuff whether I ever plan to see the movies it goes to or not–some of the stuff I haven’t even found time to listen to yet!

But is it the same exact thing as the OST? I collect them just to have them. And ya, I’ve been meaning to look for the Alice In Wonderaland FYC Promo. I’ll search for the legit thing first though, and if I don’t find it I’ll come here for it. So far, I have 10. I know there’s one for The Sorcerer’s Stone, but I’ve had a bitch of a time looking for it

I guess they are. The Two Towers FYC Promo have the same tracklist of the original soundtrack:
One can only assume that Fellowship of the Ring is the same too.

In other words if you have the original soundtracks you don’t need the promos. Unless you want to duplicate the same music in the collection, just to have them of course, no matter if it’s redundant or not.

I’ve personally seen either Fellowship or Return of the King on ebay in a live auction once. So they do exist and occasionally pop up.

Indeed. RotK is on there right now. I’ve been watching it for a straight up 2 months now. The seller has it at $25.00 + $3 shipping. And it’s a "buy it now", not an auction. $28?!?! Are you kidding me?? I almost wanna contact the seller and just flat out tell them "You’re NEVER going to sell this when it’s this expensive and it’s not an open auction". If I could also somehow slap someone through cyberspace, I’d throw in a bitch slap for them, too

The Artist, How To Train Your Dragon, Tintin and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo are all upwards of $150. Ridiculous. Out of those, only The Artist won, and the FYC has now been posted here. But that’s still ridiculous

I don’t think i is ridiculous. They are rare and they contain much unreleased music from major films
Of course the FYC that contain same or less music than the commercial releases are much cheaper.

I myself actaully have never paid under…30-40 dollars for an FYC

I’ve only ever seen Return of the King on eBay…not once have I seen the other two, though.

return of the king (unsigned) was ebay for $10-15 recent, and didnt selling last time listed.

It’s identical to the OST…..I’ve lost interest in it anyways. Same goes for Fellowship and Two Towers
