Hey Infernus Animositas, you had to scan the the .bdt file for wave files, since right now there is no way to properly extract the contents of bdt-s, right?

For this game, OJ sent me the stream (.mowb) archives. Then I extracted the music looking for RIFF headers and then converted them from AT3 to WAV with looping data (SMPL).

Hm, I’ve never heard of .mowb archives before, and honestly have no idea how OJ was able to open the .dbt data file to get anything out of it… but thank you for reply.

EDIT: Doh! I’m a dumbass, this is a thread for Demon’s Souls, and I was thinking about Dark Souls. Nevermind then.

Unfortunately that isn’t what was being offered for this thread. This one contained all the sound effects from Demon’s Soul’s, the official OST of Demon’s Soul’s does not include things such as the menu music, etc.

Thank you for this. Now I can listen to a pure 5-minute loop of the Once Royal Mistress’s singing, hehe. Truly unsettling, that. For anyone who’s interested: this also includes the little piece when Phalanx, quite hilariously, welcomes you with one of its spears after opening the large gate in 1-1; as well as the spoken prologue, the Monumental’s monologue, a series of short ambient instrumentals and, if you haven’t yet tired of it in-game, the "You Died" sound 😉

@Animositas: Even though you’ve declined in the past, I’d still like to inquire if there’s any chance at all for you to re-upload the Dark Souls gamerip as well?

I’m looking into Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition to get the new music and then I’ll re-upload it 🙂

Using Alpha’s scripts, I recently tried my hand at looking at the file contents of Demon’s Souls myself, in hopes of finding the item pick-up sound, but as of now I’ve had no luck unearthing it ;-/
I did come across most of the speech files, though ("Sparkley, happy, happy! Caw!"), and there’s a couple of interesting bits which sound like pieces of dialogue from Thomas’s daughter (Scottish accent and all), which I don’t recall ever hearing in the actual game.

Thanks a lot for your work. One thing I’m wondering about though is the ambient track that plays inside the Nexus. I’m not talking about the OST that plays in it, but rather, the ambient background sound effect in the background. It sounds a bit like 07. DS BGM M01 0000000A. Oh well, thanks anyway, I really appreciate your work.

EDIT2: I found the track posted on youtube, presumably recorded in game, but its quality is of course subpar, since it was recorded in-game and what’s more, youtube limits audio bitrate to ~130, so it’d be really appreciated if you could find the track within the files and upload it, even if individually. Regardless of whether or not you’re gonna do it or even if you’re willing to, thanks for what you’ve already posted, I really appreciate it.
