THE PRISONER (1967) COMPLETE SOUNDTRACK

Fans of The Prisoner, I am offering you to discover or rediscover this complete iconic soundtrack.
You will find 2 soundtracks for each episode:

The first one contains all the unedited tracks in order of appearance (the listing may surprise you but you will understand the reason why when you have a look at the tracklist)

The second sountrack holds the complete score as it was played in the series, with the proper speed and edited at the same spots to match (as good as possible) the pictures.
It took me many hours but the copy is faithful to the original (to the last detail).
I propose everytime the best versions that I’ve got: stereo when it is possible, balance for each tracks, correction of the imperfections and noise reduction.

All 3 discs came out in 2002.

So there were really 3 dics…. I checked Silva Screen site but it seems there is nothing available at this moment from this set or about "prisoner" soundtracks at all… (and they pretend have a " TV Cult series" soundtracks list…. ).

But I do remember very well where I dwelt and worked when I bought the dics and it was well before 2002… between 1991 and 1993 ; can t be more precise… (either getting old or having too many cds to listen to by now)…

Any tips about tracklist from the third disc would be welcome…

According to their site, silva screen is listed as "independant" ; does this mean it s possible to share them with any interested people? (by the way is there any guide about ripping cd s and putting them on line – "Megasmurf" for example ?)

No, not true. The Silva Screen CD’s featured the Library music from the series whereas the Network set, brilliant by the way, dealt with the music that was composed especially for the series. TBH the 6 CD’s that make up the Silva Screen and Network releases are pretty much definitve as they stand.

In the "Exact Edit" version, I edited the opening theme as it was played in the series, without sfx (except for the lightning) to be as faithful as possible to what we hear in the series.
I don’t want to upload all the alternative versions. Finaly I hope that a lot of you will buy the 2008 3CD Network release (for all original musics) and The Silva Screen CDs. (still available on Amazon) 😉

Not entirely. There’s another 3 CD release of the Chappell Music Library cues that came out in 2010. It’s a 1000 unit run, but I’m pretty sure it’s still available. That captures everything from the last 2 volumes of the Silva CDs (since Vol. 1 was just music written for the series). Actually, this release and the Network CDs make the Silva CDs totally obsolete.

This + the Network 3CD box : Network (http://www.networkdvd.net/index.php) together constitute 98% of the Complete Soundtrack used in this series to a really reasonable price. Both are still available for sale.

I’ve got no interest in the Chappell source music of The Prisoner, but would very much like to put my Network 3CD (which I’ve bought) in the correct order. Unfortunately, that release doesn’t include such a guide, like it should have, but the Chappell one does.

I have both the three CDs from Silva Screen, and another 2-CD set that I assembled from some (commercial) cassettes that I bought in the early 1980s. Though many tracks are likely the same as the Silva Screen release, there are a few that are NOT on the SS releases, although for the life of me I can;t remember which, not having listened for several months. Tomorrow I will post this set on my music blog, Spock’s Record Round-Up (http://spocksrecordround-up.blogspot.com/) , and folks can give it an examination.

You must repair the archive with winrar, then you will recover most of the tracks. You will find the few missing ones on Vol 2 & 3 of Silva cd set.

I have both the three CDs from Silva Screen, and another 2-CD set that I assembled from some (commercial) cassettes that I bought in the early 1980s. Though many tracks are likely the same as the Silva Screen release, there are a few that are NOT on the SS releases, although for the life of me I can;t remember which, not having listened for several months. Tomorrow I will post this set on my music blog, Spock’s Record Round-Up , and folks can give it an examination.

The reason I ask this is I discovered another 3 cd set I had in my ITC Archives …and again I cant find the real title for this one either.

Unfortunately there was no scans with it but maybe this is the Silva screen one?

It has files… Prisoner file Number 1, 2, 3…

Fans of The Prisoner, I am offering you to discover or rediscover this complete iconic soundtrack.
You will find 2 soundtracks for each episode:

The first one contains all the unedited tracks in order of appearance (the listing may surprise you but you will understand the reason why when you have a look at the tracklist)

The second sountrack holds the complete score as it was played in the series, with the proper speed and edited at the same spots to match (as good as possible) the pictures.
It took me many hours but the copy is faithful to the original (to the last detail).
I propose everytime the best versions that I’ve got: stereo when it is possible, balance for each tracks, correction of the imperfections and noise reduction.
I hope you will enjoy all this. Feel free to bring your own resources to make this thread The Prisoner thread!
