Thank you!!! Please tell me is one of these mediums (that is FLAC versus VBR) considered better than the other? And why?

FLAC is the superior. It is an identical copy of the music as recorded on the CD from which it was ripped. MP3 throws away parts of the signal that it deems to be inaudible in order to maximise compression.

No offense intended, but four seconds with Google would’ve told you that.
