Dark Shadows – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Shadows)
Dark Shadows is a gothic soap opera that originally aired weekdays on the ABC television network, from June 27, 1966 to April 2, 1971. The series became hugely popular when vampire Barnabas Collins (Jonathan Frid) appeared a year into its run. Dark Shadows also featured werewolves, zombies, man-made monsters, witches, warlocks, time travel, and a parallel universe. A small company of actors each played many roles (as actors came and went, some characters were played by more than one actor). Major writers included Art Wallace, Malcolm Marmorstein, Sam Hall, Gordon Russell, and Violet Welles.

13. Dark Shadows – The Night Whispers (2010)
Producer/writer Stuart Manning says,
“The Night Whispers was one of the most ambitious Dark Shadows productions we’ve ever attempted. Getting Jonathan Frid to reprise Barnabas after nearly 40 years was a genuine coup. We were also lucky to have a fantastic supporting cast in Emmy winner John Karlen and horror legend Barbara Steele. With wonderful, haunting sound design from David Darlington and atmospheric music from composer Sam Watts.”</td></tr></tbody></table>Behind the Scenes:
In the summer of 2010 Jonathan Frid (who is 85 and “semi-retired”) reprised the role of Barnabas for the first time since 1971, in an audio adventure called The Night Whispers. After the recording session Frid reflected; “I was kind of talked into doing it and really wasn’t sure what I was doing at first, but once we went into the studio, I found that I enjoyed it and we went back a second day to perform it again after I was comfortable. And with how Barnabas is now, I guess he’s just older and a little more tired… like me. It was something unexpected, but really quite amazing. I was too busy when it was all happening to make sense of it, but I’m having a good time now all these years later, going to the Festivals and performing for the fans.” source ~ http://www.blogofdarkshadows.com/2010/11/08/the-night-whispers-behind-the-scenes/

Writer: Scott Handcock. Voices: Lara Parker (Angelique), David Selby (Quentin Collins).
Handcock masterfully recreates the eerie mood generated in the original show. He‘s equally adept at generating dialog and compelling interplay between Quentin and Angelique. Their interchanges run the gamut from the familiar bickering to touching and tender concern. David Selby and Lara Parker have waltzed back into their roles</td><tr><tbody></table>

C). Other resources might be interfering with smooth downloading. eg; automatic updates, anti-virus, video-editing. Try doing only thing thing at a time.

In the meantime, I’m sourcing "Dark Shadows OTR Old Time Radio", about 30 episodes. I don’t know what they are…
Ok I heard them. They are apparently audio taken from the video tapes which are owned my MPI. The first one has a lot of narration that makes it sound like a radio play but that was because it was a summation of the first year of Dark Shadows in the pre-Barnabas Collins years. They wanted to begin the sale of the tapes with the releasing of Barnabas Collins from his coffin which took place in 1967. So they condensed the events of 1966 so that the story would make sense to those who had never seen it as they would be starting the story in progress.

Entertainment Weekly Unveils Dark Shadows Movie Cast Photo (http://darkshadowsnews.blogspot.com/2011/09/entertainment-weekly-unveils-dark.html)

On Friday September 30, principal photography concluded on the new Dark Shadows feature film, bringing to an end over five months of filming at Pinewood Studios. Local newspaper the Buckinghamshire Advertiser (http://www.buckinghamshireadvertiser.co.uk/south-buckinghamshire-news/local-buckinghamshire-advertiser-news/2011/09/30/hollywood-star-johnny-depp-filming-in-bucks-82398-29517186/) revealed that the Dark Shadows crew also completed location work at the county’s Black Park earlier in the week. The woodland area, which adjoins Pinewood, has featured in numerous productions, including the Harry Potter series.
UK newspaper The Observer (http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2011/oct/02/pinewood-studios-75-years-lord-grade-films) reported on Friday’s shoot in a feature on the studio’s 75th anniversary, saying that: "It was the last day of filming on… Dark Shadows," and that director Tim Burton and star Johnny Depp had been unable to attend the studio’s birthday celebrations as "filming was still going at an intense pace."
A wrap party for the cast and crew was held on Saturday evening, with attendees including Tim Burton, Helena Bonham Carter (Dr. Julia Hoffman) and Eva Green (Angelique). Dark Shadows will now progress to post production, ahead of its May 2012 release date.

First thing to ask is are you downloading this at work ?. As there could be firewall issues preventing your access to download providers.

I do not have an account with any of the file hosts… no need.
If this is the case, log-out from Megaupload and simply download using the posted link (number 29), and take the regular download option after the 40-odd second countdown has expired.
People do sometimes get problems with megaupload for no apparent reason, and then normal service resumes.. ?.

Jdownloader is a FREE download manager, which you download and install… then run.
You can copy links into it and then leave it to chug along in the background…
Seeing as I downloaded "The Rage Beneath" earlier, I’ve re-uploaded it here…

It’s also possible that your I.S.P. are blocking access. (that happened in the UK a few months back, with British Telecom)

I have heard that residents of certain countries can also have such problems… national firewalls as it were.

Quentin learns that not only has the town changed and that strange things are happening to the locals, but also that Collinwood has been abandoned and his family have gone. Maggie implores Quentin to leave, angrily railing at him when he determines to stay. She will not divulge more information, but tells Quentin to find Willie Loomis. Willie, now known as "mad Willie Loomis", doesn’t afford much help to Quentin. At the Blue Whale, now owned by husband and wife Ed and Susan Griffin, Quentin discovers that many of Collinsport’s residents are wandering around at night like empty shells, and have become known as the "Lost". Having seen and heard enough, Quentin decides to go to Collinwood with a reluctant Willie.

Great post!! I remember when this book and cassette versions were released in 1993 or 1994.
Being a huge fan of the show and owner of the complete series on DVD (1,225 episodes) I deeply appreciate your effort in posting this companion set.
One of the first things I posted on FFshrine was actually a Dark Shadows post, the soundtrack for House Of Dark Shadows and Night Of Dark Shadows.
Thanks again for the post!
Does anyone know if Big Finish will continue the Audio Series with a Third Season? It would be a shame with that cliffhanger. Maybe the Movie will spark interest.

How do you feel now?
Dark Shadows a comedy in the vein of Twilight meets The Addams Family.

Actually I think that is a good move on burton’s part. With twilight being ‘serious’ no one can look at vampires the same way again. If burton had made it serious, people would’ve gone like ‘oh look another vampire movie, lame -.-‘
Saw the trailer, I liked it, and look forward to seeing this film.
