This is my personal v2.0 4 disc edition of TRON: LEGACY containing Daft Punk’s COMPLETE 100% LOSSLESS FILM VERSION score plus all alternates and material from the OST and Special Edition albums, bonus releases, and recording sessions. Film versions have been completely remixed for this v2.0 set using the lossless DTS-HD MA 7.1 audio from the Blu-ray, and only exist as part of this release, not in the recording sessions. The first two discs present the music in the order it appeared in the film and as film versions where tracks differed from the album releases. Discs 3 and 4 contain all of the album and sessions tracks and other odds and ends that differed from the film versions or that I didn’t want to include on the first two discs. Feel free to rearrange tracks for your own listening pleasure.
I wanted to post this for my fellow ffshriners as a thanks for all the good stuff you share. This set represents a LOT of hours of work, so I hope you enjoy it and at least say thanks or comment if you grab it.
Please don’t share this elsewhere, consider it an ffshrine exclusive. A big thank you to Scorepranos, Stygian, hack3rman, and all involved in sharing the recording sessions, without which this v2.0 set wouldn’t exist.
2-28-2013 UPDATE: V2.0 posted.

How? This is not a pressed cd, it is a blue-ray rip.
Uh, Metro…? I hate to say it, but there is no such thing as an ffshrine exclusive. If it gets posted here, it spreads everywhere, often within hours. Many. many folks here are silent leechers….
The bluray audio for this movie is DTS-HD Master Audio (lossless).
The normal specs are higher than standard CD.
Bluray= 24bit/48khz/5.1
CD=16bit/41khz/2.0
However, this movie is 7.1 surround sound.
As it currently stands, properly splitting/demuxing the 7.1 channels is very difficult and subject to user preference.
On many forums that are dedicated to audio/video editing, it is widely discussed that there is no absolute method to get an exact copy of the original 7.1 bluray audio. Many of the decoders can do it, but different versions of the same decoder offer different results. Some good, some bad.
To the untrained ear, no one cares.
Once you’ve figured out the 7.1 channels, there’s the matter of whether or not you’re going to preserve the attributes of 24bit/48khz/7.1 or downgrade everything to CD compliance (for FLAC formats). MP3 conversion does it all, as per "legal" standards of mp3 ("illegal standards" can result in incompatibility with hardware/software).
If this is from a downloaded bluray with simply DTS audio at 1.5mbps, then it is the DTS Core of the DTS-HD Master Audio track.
And that is a lossy source to work with, even if the attributes are higher than standard CD specifications.
I’m not sure if the core of 7.1 DTS-HDMA is 5.1, or if it’s still 7.1
If the core isn’t natively 5.1 downmix, then you run into the same problem as trying to downmix from 7.1 to 5.1 yourself.
That and the core will always be lossy.
Props to working on this. I’d have never touched a 7.1 source.
On a side note: Adobe Audition has recently come up with an updated version.
It is now in the CS versions…
Version:CS5.5
Released:20110517
It works nicely with 5.1 files.

There is a password for this. Anyone know?
You just need to read : "Pass is my username for both rars"
Agreed. The movie is borderline 2 years old now, and the only thing I’ve come across is the shittiest DVD rip I’ve ever heard. It’s loud and infested with SFX. It’s like listening to the movie on full volume through headphones. It’s awful.
THANK YOU
🙂
I’m going to add World’s Apart by Journey & Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics after The Arcade. 🙂
and add to my collections. thanks a lot! 🙂
only thing i dont like is
on C.L.U. when you first made it, it had TRON saying "I fight for the users."
this one on here doesnt now. :/
still excellent job
im just being a TRON fanboy over here… i love TRON & that line… lol

Yes, I realize there may be some who won’t respect the request, but if you don’t ask, it’s free game. At least you got it here first.
have you ever done any tutorials on filtering? Would love to know how you get such good results?
Sorry ahdvd, no time to make tutorials. This was a lot of manual labor. Think lots of multi-channel editing, layering, panning, filtering, equalizing, etc, etc, etc.

The 7.1 DTS-HDMA core is DTS 5.1, and that’s what I ripped and used as my source. I’m not aware of a good way to extract discrete 8 channel audio. If you or someone else reading this knows how, please post. I’d be willing to give some of these tracks another try with all 8 channels.
This is amazing!! how much did you do to remove the sfx?! is it possible to do with 7.1 bluray sources?
see the above
it’s now 4:16 am here, i put this on to listen to while i was falling asleep, but i’ve been getting into it so much ive listened to the whole thing. You rock! AWESOME job on the filtering of the SFX, on some tracks where you have definately taken it from the movie they are almost non-existent, how on earth did you get the movie version of C.L.U. so clear?!
Hope it was worth missing your sleep for. Keep the comments coming, I appreciate the feedback!
i seriously love your work on this. there are a few sound effects on C.L.U. like the wind… but it fits… havent really heard any other SFX… i am at work tho.. so cant listen to loud… but you did a really great job on this

lemme think about that for a minute… um, sorry, no 🙂
It takes an EXTREMELY rare score AND film to make me want to put this much time (which I don’t really have) into cleaning it up. Daft Punk’s soundtrack and TL were that rare. I absolutely love this score and how perfectly it fits the film. Easily my favorite of the last several years. ROTF & POTC? Sorry, not so much. But thanks for the compliments.

Meanwhile I selfishly reap the benefits of your love for TRON.
T:L is my favorite score possibly of all time. I’m glad you share the passion for it!

Seriously? you prefer it WITH the voices mixed in?! i LOVE the version without!
I like the voices, too. It adds extra oomph to it.
did you watch the movie? i love that line… like i said… im saying it from a TRON fanboy… i like both versions… but TRON’s line is epic!!!
Ah, okay. Well, there’s one decoder, but there are two different versions of it that each have their own pros/cons that significantly impact the overall end results.
I’ll look it up again on the doom nine forum. (i’ve spent at least several days siphoning through the informational posts and the irrelevant posts there on that topic alone.)
I’ll update when I learn something.
thanks a lot.. 🙂

I think you’ll find it’s less than 7 months since the movie was released.
And doesn’t time fly by when every track is discussed in the most minute of detail ?. It probably feels like 2 years.
Much appreciated.
Great work!!
it rocks.
THX a lot

Great work!!
He’s already made what i think is a good cover, it’s in the first post, agreed it would be good to hav a back, but i’m not fussed.
Oh, Christ.
Get it?
I know this is unofficial score, but is there any news about official one?
Oh, man! Password is the nick of uploader
Cheers
Oh, and my first post!
It’s now up to CS5.5.
I used to use Goldwave, but the filters/tools aren’t as great as Adobe Audition.
They’re both paid programs.
Audacity is freeware, but you get what you pay for.
Adobe Audition can also has a multitrack display, so you can work with 5.1 and output as 5.1 wav then convert to FLAC or other.
I didn’t do the full job on the final few tracks I mixed, you can probably guess which ones if you’ve been listening to it, cause I just wanted to put it out there for all those who were waiting for it and be done with it. Well, gratitude has its rewards, so anyway, here’s a 13 track update especially for those of you who said thanks and who like the score as much as I do. Maybe one of these days I’ll get around to really finishing up the remaining few tracks I’m not satisfied with and do another update. Pass same as always. Enjoy! (http://www.multiupload.com/VSWBNRR070)
Oops, just realized 2 of the new tracks I upped weren’t the final ones. Sorry for the mistake, if you downloaded it before I corrected the link and posted this, please regrab so you’ve got the good ones.
Thanks again,
Rob

Thanks so much for these! Everything sounds amazing to me. I downloaded before your update – what were the two final tracks you just posted?

you did an amazing job with this… TRON: LEGACY is my all time favorite score… & to have the complete. 🙂
Only complaint is that some of the tracks have very audible clipping.
They were mixed too loudly.
I’d love to see a FLAC version without all this clipping, but it can’t be done for whatever reason… Then oh well, I suppose.
I am a huge fan of the original film and had my concerns as to whether anybody could do better than Wendy Carlos on the soundtrack. Daft Punk were an ideal choice, and seemed to capture every ounce of movement on the screen and translate it to memorable themes. I own the original score but am so very happy to have the movie edits as well.
Kudos and thanks again metrotokyo!
ahdvd, I think you misunderstood what I was saying. When I say rare, I mean it’s extremely rare that I REALLY like both a given score AND the film it was written for. I REALLY liked TL the movie AND the score. I made my edit because the complete film score wasn’t released, didn’t exist, and I REALLY wanted to hear it. Most of my edits were done over the past couple months between the hours of 11pm and 2am, and frankly, I’m very burned out on doing anything more for probably a good long time. When I said earlier I really don’t have time for this I wasn’t kidding. I hate to keep disappointing you and the others, but I just can’t do requests. That said, I hope you’re still enjoying TLMTE and the new tracks I posted.
I think DAKoftheOTA was referring to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
You’ve Fulfilled a long waiting need…
Thank You
As of right now I haven’t listened to it (or even unpacked it yet), but I want to thank you for your hard work.
I, too, loved this score (though I found the film to be pretty sketchy), and more of it is certainly welcome.

Much obliged.
Dude, it rocks!!! There are no words for how happy this has made me, nor how much I can thank you. I’m listening to it right now as I type this up. Thank You, Thank You, and Thank You!!!!!!!! =)
Have you considered making one for Sucker Punch??
Thx a lot already for that.
Stuff like that should be official.
You guys here are inspiring…
Metro, any chance of getting WAVs so that there is no second transcode taking place from the original extracted audio?
Sorry, what’s released is what’s released, I won’t be upping another set unless I happen someday to rework these some more. No time for that now though.
The first post says the password is his username.
Okay, I’ve just downloaded the CD1 file (again), and entered the password…

and it works…
what software are you using to unpack the archive file ?.
Have you tried using some other software ?.
No-one else appears to have this problem.
I signed up for this forum just for this!
Thank you for this wonderful version!

Ahhhhh! Just figured it out!
Now I read that this was ripped from the Blu ray, well that is good, they have lossless and higher bitrate DTS and Dolby tracks and noticeably better sound quality. Why then is this mp3? I mean you did not rip the lossless layer of the DTS Master Audio, you ripped the lossy "core", and let me get this right.. You compressed AGAIN into mp3? Lossy on top of lossy is like copying VHS to another VHS…
Would you mind if I just shared the Link to this thread, instead of the link to the upload?

Yes, it appears and disappears from time to time. I check eBay now and then for it. I’ve started a request for it, but have had no luck so far. I’m willing to kill to get this, I collect FYC scores and this is my favorite score of 2010 (next to Inception, which also has an FYC). But $89?! No thanks. The seller lives near me, too. Less than an hour. I don’t know why, but it makes me want it that much more. If I had $120 to shell out for this so I could just get it now and not have to bid, I would definitely buy it and share it. I wouldn’t be surprised if it disappears tomorrow, though.
But, CD2, and the 1.5 update are both deleted. :-/

They are pretty nice…
Thanks. I’d upload them for you, but mine is different – for every film version of a track on here, I added the album version on mine. It’s 66 tracks long
This is my entire v1.5 score set to the film and formatted for viewing on your iPhone/Touch/Android device in .mp4 for your portable enjoyment. Those of you with Android, get Meridian Media Player (https://market.android.com/details?id=org.iii.romulus.meridian&feature=search_result), it does video playlists so you can watch all of the files in sequence.
CD 1 A/V Set (http://www.multiupload.com/33UJH5A053) 237.1MB
CD 2 A/V Set (http://www.multiupload.com/XZP8UHQ960) 270.2MB
This is the one I downloaded, they all are videos without vocal sounds, just the music.
If you try to download the other links, all are down. This is the only one thats up
I *MAY* have it uploaded, but it’s different. If you saw me mention a couple of posts back, for every film version of a track on this set, I added an album version. So it’s like the most complete version of the score. iTunes version bonus tracks are included as well. 66 tracks, approximately 2 & and half hours, over 400 MB. Do you want it?

You are not looking at the current links. The current ones are for mediafire.
I cannot seem to open part 2, however. Says the file is corrupted. I’ve downloaded it twice, and twice got the same error message. Am I the only one?
EDIT: Forget what I said. After 3 more attempts, I somehow managed to open the file correctly. I blame alcohol.

Download Score: Tron: Legacy (Metrotokyo Edition) (http://downloadscoresession.blogspot.com/2012/03/tron-legacy-metrotokyo-edition.html)I mean it’s one thing that that blog is posting stuff that most likely came from here (but who knows because it could have come from somewhere else). And it’s another thing that it bares a striking resemblance to another foul blog that was recently shut down. But this TRON: Legacy post is just wrong. Why? It’s called the Metrotokyo Edition for a reason, you dolt! Metrotokyo, a member of only FFShrine and nowhere else on the internet created this edition. Thief!
The site you’re ragging about has no links to Metrotokyo’s score (you even said it yourself on the comments), and it is not claiming anything as it’s own. I’m not saying that I support this, but I don’t really see anything wrong with posting a cover and a tracklist (which clearly state it’s Metrotokyo’s version). Who knows? Maybe it will gear people to google search it, which can then lead them here. A user on the first page did say that this wasn’t a "FFShrine exclusive" as it would most likely show up all over the grid.
Sometimes you blow things out of proportion.

Truly Amazing work Metrotokyo, reflects your passion to get to the core of it all and create your own "grid" :-). Thank you so much for taking the time out to extract and the heart to share these wonderful gems with all of us. I tried the multiupload, links are down. I will keep checking on it to see if another member has been equally kind to reup on another server (filehost, filefactory, rapidshare, extabit, upload to,….) that seem to be working for now.
Once again, hearty thanks dear friend. God bless you always.

F-yeah! You’re awesome Metrotokyo!
and Metrotokyo’s effort surely did not go to waste with this stuff and it is greatly appreciated.
with the indulgence of Metro, i made a custom/fan edition covers for this Tron-ific score! here (http://thescoredesigns.wordpress.com/2012/05/29/tron-legacy-soundtrack-unofficial-complete-daft-punk/)

These are wonderful, thanks !
truth be told this IMHO is one of the best pairing of Orchestral and Electronic Synths to happen in a film score. Daft Punk prove the fact that an electronic stuff could be better utilized with Orchestral music to denotes futuristic scenes and while staying true to what the original film stands for.

One of the best covers ever made. Excellent work, Bugz!
This version, for the lossless fans here, is a genuine 24 bit WAV file, which is higher quality than the version on the CD soundtrack:

I will be adjusting the volume shortly so that it mirrors the album. Stay tuned!
@Zodiac – will be checking it out, thanks it would be a nice addition of course!
I re-made the track, so it should be the same. Included are two different versions of the track: normal volume and soundtrack level volume. Soundtrack level volume is slightly lower than the soundtrack’s volume, because if it were exact, it would be clipped way too much (the soundtrack already suffers from clipping). Then again, take into consideration that this is not mastered like the album is- but this is the closest I could get! If anyone has suggestions, I would be glad to re-make the tracks!

Hmmm…I just spent about 15 minutes downloading the file from the fourth link in this list (album volume; mirror link) and all I got was a file whose file name is ‘The and its file extension is File. I checked and Audacity does at least recognize it as an audio file. After some fidgeting, I can get Windows Media Player to play it as well, but it bothers me that there is no file extension.
You keep saying you "made" this track. How was that done?

Really? It’s a 24-bit file, and not even my updated Media Player could play it. The original file I have has an extention of .wav – you could try changing the extention.
Otherwise, let me re-upload the file!
As for making it, I used Audacity- made using the original 24 bit stems released on the Indaba website.

Here it is, in a rar folder:

Try using Peejeshare, maybe FileFactory f*cked it up in the uploading process.
If for some reason you don’t like the filehost, download it again from FileFactory (in a rar folder):

I’ve heard talk of these stems around here. I have the stems for the two Pirates 4 tracks that were given for some remix contest back when that score was new…How many TRON tracks have the stems available for them, and where could I find them?

Please let me know if the instrumental in the rar archive works! As for changing a file extension, you go to a folder, tools, and the second tab should have an option that says "hide file extensions"- uncheck that. Then you can check it back in whenever you feel like it (I think it’s annoying to leave it unchecked- I only use it when changing extensions.

Ughhh, *sigh*….Thanks. Anyone have the original stems that would were posted in this link and also have the time to upload them? PMing me would suffice.

Yeah, the new links totally worked. Thanks! Also, thanks for the tip about the file extensions. Since I’ve had my laptop (nearly two years now, I think), I’ve had Windows 7 on it, and I’ve gotten most of the little, minor settings how I want them, but this was one I did not have quite straight. I think I’d had this laptop for close to half a year when I discovered that I had Task Manager set to "Footprint Mode" or some silly name like that, and that was the reason I couldn’t see any processes and whatever other info the Task Manager displays. Anyway, sorry for rambling, and thanks again for your edit as well as the better-working links!
Anyway, here are "Father and Son" and "Outlands, Part II" from the iTunes version of the TRON: Legacy soundtrack. They are original, purchased files, but I decided to remove the account details from them. iTunes-purchased music is equal to, if not better than 320kbps MP3.

Can someone please re-upload the Collector’s EP that contains 320kbps MP3 versions of "Sunrise Prelude" and "Sea of Simulation"? Amazon makes sh*tty encodes, and the Ovi encode is worse. It would be nice to have these two missing tracks in 320.

Thank you kindly for this! But now I’ve got more trouble. Layers 1 & 2 for "Derezzed" as well as the percussion and filtered strings tracks for "End of Line" don’t import into Audacity properly. They are either too short or have absolutely no audio present. They play just fine on Media Player for me, but that doesn’t do much good. I’ll bet running them through a converter would probably fix them. Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks again, metrotokyo!
———- Post added at 02:58 PM ———- Previous post was at 02:55 PM ———-
Yep, I converted them from FLAC to FLAC, and now they work just fine in Audacity. Weird.
I’ve tried contacting metrotokyo a few times about it and i’ve never gotten a reply.

Well, if you want to try a somewhat outdated and brute-force approach (yet still better than the SnakesInPantaloons approach), you could take a peek at the guide that is the first link in my sig. My guide, itself, is now a bit outdated as I have not updated it in a while after finding a few more handy tricks, and if you’re looking for a blu-ray ripping guide, I think someone posted that somewhere on the first page of the thread.
Huh? it seems pretty good to me, it even opens AC3.
Thanks, but Ive already tried your methods with this same score. I also already know how to rip the DTS or AC3 audio from Blu-Rays and DVDs, so thats not a problem either.
But thanks for your suggestion though.
To me, it seems like metrotokyo is using a expensive/advance audio software because Ive tried to do the same thing with the 7.1 track from the TRON: Legacy Blu-Ray and I cant get anywhere near the same effect that metrotokyo managed to get to. At least in audacity.
Done (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/tron-legacy-metrotokyo-edition-unofficial-complete-motion-90961/#post1705198). You’re welcome.

Awesome! Thanks!
I was looking into the order of the soundtrack for all the bonus tracks tonight and stumbled upon the original OST thread about 4 pages in and kept reading until page 12. Thank you SOOOOOOO MUCH! I cannot put into words how much I look forward to this. Easily one of my favorite pieces of music, ever. Might be number one overall, in fact. I listen to it and it just never gets old. Now I have an additional HOUR! Woooooohoooooooo
The giant theatre-size poster that comes with the soundtrack and also happens to glow in the dark? I have that one, and I too have it framed. It looks sick against my blue wall and even better when the black lights are on
Yep, that would be the one! Though I’m now curious if my UV filtering Plexiglas will keep it from glowing in the dark. Hrmmm
Question: Is disc 1 the same as the official releases of the score? The track names all match up but i wanna make sure I’m not missing anything if I don’t download that disk.
Thanks again.
EDIT: Nevermind. They work now.
Thanks for the upload. I love watching this movie for the aesthetics alone. The film score is definitely more crisp than the soundtrack and I can’t wait to have a listen…
"the archive is broken and cannot be repaired."
thanks in advance.
I used be the same way, But I gave them another chance recently. I haven’t had a problem with them since. No deleated files.

Can you reup the FLACs for these? :puppydog:
It has less to do with deleted files and more with the user experience. Trying to download files off that site can be maddening; sometimes they’ll say "all download slots for this file are full," other times you can click "Create Download Link" as many times as you wish and get nothing. Peejeshare says the files are no longer available, and the PutLocker link is telling me I need to have a Pro account. I’d really like to get hold of the stems as I’d like to experiment with a bit of remixing, but do I really need a Pro account? Am I missing a link somewhere? Help!
I still hear background sounds and stuff like that… didn’t you manage to erase them completely?
But I have to say that you did a great job on the album!

with the indulgence of Metro, i made a custom/fan edition covers for this Tron-ific score! here (http://thescoredesigns.wordpress.com/2012/05/29/tron-legacy-soundtrack-unofficial-complete-daft-punk/)

What do the notations mean? Like the 1m1a in "The Grid [1m1a Legacy Open – Film Version]" or the 6m40 in Recovering the Disc [Disc Wars – RS Version]? For that matter, what is the RS version is that the Sessions release?
Also, do we need the sessions collection if we have this collection?
Thanks!
Bob

Ok:
1.) You ain’t the only one who loves this score. It’s in my top 5.
2.) Those "notations" are the slate numbers. The first number represents what reel the cue is on. The "m" means cue (don’t know why, but it does), and the last number equals the cue number. So, 6m40 = reel six, cue #40 "Recovering the Disc". Make sense?
3.) The complete score is right here http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/tron-legacy-sessions-320k-~-daft-punk-124950/. It’s all the cues presented as they were written, no film mixes. If you want film mixes, you’re best off going with Metrotokyo’s edit. I combined both and made myself a film mix and even used the DVD for some cues.
Hope this helps!

As stated in the first post, my edition is the complete lossless FILM VERSION score PLUS all alternates and material from the OST and Special Edition albums, bonus releases, AND recording sessions. RS version is the recording sessions version. Many of the RS tracks are the same as the album tracks. Where there were differences, both (or several in a few cases) versions were included in this set. So sure, you can download the recording sessions too, but they’re already in this release. As far as the film versions go, they only exist in this release, not in the RS or anywhere else.
Thanks for the clarifications from DAK and metrotokyo himself!
I’m pretty certain this is in my top 3 now. Jurassic Park, this, and then Raiders. I’ve dabbled in audio editing, and I must say the amount of work put into this had to be crazy. It’s perfect. Thanks again metrotokyo for doing what Disney should have done in the first place!

is it just me having issues with mega? i’m stuck at 5%? it’s a huge file but if there’s any chance some good folks would offer a mirror other than mega, i’ll be grateful 🙂
As a small thank you i’ve made a custom album art. This is based on the artwork made by Stoi’s for The Recording Sessions: http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/tron-legacy-sessions-320k-%7E-daft-punk-124950/4.html#post2242871

It’s wonderfull.
This may be a dumb question, but what does "RS Album Version" mean? I know what "RS Version" and "Album Version" mean, but I’m not sure what it refers to when they’re combined. Does it mean that the recording sessions and album are the same, but differ from the film version?
Thanks. Great job on the set. It’s incredible.

Nevermind, figured it out.
Thank you!
The Disc 4 FLAC file just downloaded fine for me, and opened with the specified password.
Either,
1) you have not completely downloaded the file,
2) you have not used the correct password,
3) the software you are using cannot handle the file correctly.
Ops! It’s fine now. Sweet.
The link for Indaba Stems is expired. Could you possibly re-up once more?
Thank you so much, :badsparky:

Anything new about the two dead links?
Doe the versions 2.0 FLAC in the original post now contain everything? I saw that during the 18 pages of this thread there were several additions/updates of single files to now partially dead links. Is everything included in the files from the original post?
Cheers.
If you refer to dead links as being "somewhere in the previous 18 pages", then don’t be surprised if no-one can be bothered to look to see what they refer to. Don’t forget that when they were posted they would have been at the end of the thread, which is the next logical place to look after the first post. Where is the harm in referring to the links in post number "nnn" or the links on page "nn" ?.

and cool to have access to the stems, thanks a lot metrotokyo !

Very thanks
I tried this several times, with both the FLAC and .mp3 versions and still can’t open it. Any ideas?
Nevertheless, amazing work!!
The Zippyshare links (for the mp3 version of the 4 CDs) are gone, but the MEGA links (for the FLAC version) are all online and working, just checked.
Forget it; it was the wording that confused me – clear as mud! It means the password is the poster’s username, ‘metrotokyo’, not ‘Pass’!
