Metal Gear Solid HD Collection:
The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will contain Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The Zone of the Enders HD Collection will pack Zone of Enders and Zone of the Enders 2. Both collections have been optimized and rebuilt for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with new user interfaces for the HD resolutions, redrawn art, brand new Trophies/Achievements, right analog stick and rumble support, and improved audio.
Metal Gear overlord Hideo Kojima pointed out that while Peace Walker is part of the Metal Gear Solid HD collection, it is not part of the PSP Remaster series.
Another feature both collections support is Kojima’s new "lifestyle" called "Transfarring." That is not a typo — Transfarring. Using this system, PlayStation players can have one save that works with PS3 and PSP copies of certain games. Konami announced Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker as the first (and so far only) Transfarring capable title. Start your Peace Walker game on the PS3, copy the save to the PSP, play on the go, and then copy it back to the PS3 to pick up where you left off.
Zone of the Enders HD Collection:
The Zone of the Enders HD Collection is said to support Transfarring, but no PSP versions of these games were announced. Kojima said that he was looking to bring Tranfarring to the NGP, so perhaps that is where we’ll see the ZOE plan come together.
Good news for any Konami fans… cept… where’s the Suikoden package eh?
"Snake In"
I read on Konami’s pre-E3 site that they are including a collection of HD of Silent Hill games. Just 2, 3, and 4 though. Don’t plan on buying them though.
Silent Hill 2 in HD??? I’m so fucking there!
I’ll revoke your membership if you don’t buy it, Ari.

I think I may have been mistaken. Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/adventure/silenthillcollection/index.html) says it will contain the three games, but a different site (http://playstationlifestyle.net/2011/06/02/konami-breaks-silence-on-silent-hill-collection/) says only 2 & 3 (as Neg mentioned). I guess Konami is the only one that can answer this question officially.
I don’t see why they don’t add The Room to this collection. Can’t really call it a "Collection" that has two games only.
Neg… I’ll probably buy it, if it’s reasonably priced… like $29.99 or cheaper. 😉
I don’t really care if it’s full price. It’s 2 and 3, at the very least, and those alone are nothing but pure bliss, in my book.
Wait, Ari, that’s the PS2 one, dude. http://cgi.ebay.com/Silent-Hill-Collection-2-3-4-PS2-PAL-excellent-cond-/280692497917?pt=AU_PC_Video_Games_Games&hash=item415a939dfd
You goofus.
You goofus.
Interesting. I had no idea they released a collection for the PS2. LOL.
I guess that answers the question if the MGS HD collection is coming to Xbox 360, IDX. Now to preorder it… ugh, too much money spent on games this year already >.<
I don’t really care much for video games anymore. Most of the ones that come out are complete and utter shit now. I have more inclination to read through Guitar World to see upcoming new gadgets than reading a game magazine or watching a gaming show to see what new games are coming up. But that’s just me.
And Revan, I looked it up myself to see and noticed that your post and the article I read did say it was coming to the 360. But I don’t care about changing my post as long as I knew what was going on.
I have the PSX game (MGS) and the two PS2 ones (MGS 2 & 3) and i love it, but expend money in the HD versions? naaaa :-\, and there is the matter of time, i played those games over 10 times each for unlock or get everything!, i dont have this time anymore, and i sure its not so funny like the first time i did it.
Perhaps ill consider the Zone of the Enders version, i dont played the first game (i have Z.O.E. : The 2nd Runner), only for that, if i have the first one i dont buy it.
I’m pretty sure the PS3 memory card adapter isn’t discontinued; it’s still available for purchase on Amazon, anyway. And I don’t think it’s really asking for them to do the impossible. I know there are some games that are sequels which read data from previous games in order to continue the game as your previous character/stats. I just don’t think it’s really so much to ask for the system to check how many dogtags are collected and how many facepaints are obtained in previous save data. I mean, that information’s available on the actual save itself, right? It doesn’t need to be pulled up by having the actual game in the system. And after putting the effort into remaking the games, I would expect them to be cognizant of the notion of carrying over previous achievements. That’s just my opinion anyway.
The fact that it’s PS3 exclusive doesn’t really affect me since I was going to play it on PS3 anyway, but the new voice overs are making me skeptical. It’s going to be on blu-ray so at the very least I think they should let us use the old voices if we want. Yeah, the old voice actors aren’t exactly shining examples of good voice acting, but that’s just how I remember the games and even the slightest change, even if it is for the better, won’t go down well with me.

That’s pretty good that they are adding trophy support. It makes the game more challenging to do achievements such as those. The game coming out in the fall… I wonder if it will be released around the same time as Downpour.
Neg: I will definitely buy this collection now. 🙂

FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!! !!
mgo4 sucks in comparison.
No, now you’re supposed to be upset about the new voice acting. You need to keep up with my ever changing emotions!
But, hey, you never know~
Play the original before you play 3, if you can.
he MUST play 1 before playing 3.
he does not have the right to play the third before the first.
doing so will bring the universe upon itself and a new universe will emerge were every single wrong thing in the previous universe does not exist.
war, hunger, unnaturals, religion… the list goes on.
you wouldnt want a worldI am happy with, would you?

point invalid.
plus, you dont fool me, you played the first… first
Im not agree in matter of experience, perhaps this sounds fool to you, but precisely the lack of definition is the angular stone in the first title (and the incredible sound and "music" of course), then if you played in HD i dont think you enjoy the title very much as us in their moment, the imagination is more powerfull than any picture or videogame by the simple fact that one thing may not scare at the same rate to 2 persons
Try an emulator with the ISO for the first time, then try the PS3 version, is my opinion 🙂
I recall playing SH3 once awhile back, and while I admit the music and atmosphere was quite good, I just couldn’t get into it. I’m willing to give it another shot though.

Never gonna get it on a PS3, as I’ll never buy a PS3.
If this is true, you’re off the hook.
Thanks for the clarification Neg 🙂

Is it just me, or does it look exactly the same as the previous versions? I know it’s the same exact game so I can’t expect anything different stylistically, but truly I don’t see anything at all different in the detail. Can someone please tell me that my eyesight is just poor, because I’d really like to believe that it’s better quality than the PS2 graphics. The video just hasn’t conveyed that to me at all. 🙁
Really? Hm, seems kind of pointless then. I knew that they’re not remaking it, but my point is that it doesn’t look like it conforms with what they described it as being: optimized and rebuilt.

But who knows, maybe their wording just means the same thing as making it not look like shit on HDTV. I don’t have an HDTV, so is there any point to me getting it (besides for Peace Walker, b/c I don’t have a PSP either)?
