EDIT:
DoubleHex made a better organized and correctly tagged version of the score, get it here (Thread 91358)

Hi everyone !

I managed to extract the whole music files from Dungeon Siege 3 (pc version), thanks to

Raptor’s DS3 extractor (http://raptor.cestiny.cz/download/dungeon-siege-3-oaf-files-extractor.html), hcs64’s ww2ogg (http://hcs64.com/vgm_ripping.html) and Yirkha’s revorb (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t64328.html)

BUT…the files are not properly labeled (the track titles are random numbers), and I couldn’t figure how to properly label them…

[tech stuff ]there are .bnk files located in the same folder as the audio files, that may help renaming them, but I don’t know how to open them/find which ogg there are related to [/tech stuff]

If I find a way to do that, I may reupload a corrected soundtrack

Well…anyway this is a really cool soundtrack (the only thing that saves this game, IMO); with multiple variations of several themes.

Dungeon Siege 3 gamerip – music by Jason Graves & Timothy Michael Wynn
199 tracks / 199:16 / 216,83 MB
File format: OGG vbr 48khz, untouched
(I left the little "stinger" tracks)

EDIT:
Treasures of the Sun DLC rip:

NOTE: once again, the files are NOT tagged 🙁

Enjoy !

Whoa, Jason Graves was on this project? Thanks, I’ll check it out then! 😀

HOLY SHIT.

This is fantastic. I though Infernus was going to do it, and I tried but failed.

*cracks knuckles*

Time to get to arranging this into a proper soundtrack. I’ll see you all in a week.

EDIT: Actually, it will probably be longer than a week. There’s so many files, and I can’t recognize even half of them. Going to need to play through the game again.

Thank you 🙂

Well if you try to open the file data_archive.oaf with the extractor I’ve linked in my first post, you’ll see that there are a lot of .bnk files (wwise soundbank files), one for each .ogg file.
They are "correctly" labeled (contrary to the audio files).
Now the hardest part is to find which bnk is related to which ogg file…

Now that I did not realize. I’ll see what I can do.

EDIT: Well, it’s not entirely true that each one is for each of the .ogg. There is 343 .ogg files, and 295 .bnk. It is possible that there are .bnk’s that correlate to multiple .ogg’s.

That’s because I removed ambient sound (wind loops for example) and sound fx (monster noises, footsteps etc). I only kept was I think was the real music (+ some small stinger sounds)

EDIT: Oops, my bad. I didn’t read well your sentence, sorry 🙂

Before I do much more I am going to wait on Infernius’ rip, in the hope that the 360 version has proper names.

Well, I went ahead and sent a PM to Nathaniel Chapman, the Lead Designer on the game. He’s a friendly down to earth guy on the SomethingAwful forum, so he may actually respond.

In other news, through sheer attrition I am making some progress. Not much, but some. Found the character selection theme, but at just a mere :30 I am hoping that there is a longer version. Somewhere. Same goes for the Pilgrims Road theme, which is just :45.

EDIT: Some of the themes are split. I just found the second part of the Pilgrims Road theme, for example.

Also, got almost 40 minutes "organized" (ie in folders) out of 3 hours. Not too bad for a first day.

Chapman got back to me, and he said that, for various reasons, there is no way to link the .bnk files with the .ogg. So we’ll just have to do it the old fashioned way.

E: 40 minutes named and numbered, 20 organized into folders awaiting to be named. Two more hours to go.

It doesn’t seem so far away now. I’ll try to get in time for the game’s release. 🙂

I have now reached the one hour point, at 1"6’10. I put all of the remaining tracks that were less than :45 into a separate folder, and that leaves me with just 75~ tracks.

Less than an hour of music remains to be arranged. It should be up by Tuesday at the latest.

And now? How do I know how to label which song? Can you maybe upload the correctly labeled tracks, please?
