The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings – PC Gamerip

Here’s a gamerip for you people. I’ve cleaned out many duplicates, put fade in/out effects where needed, converted to ogg vorbis q10 (500 kbps bitrate) and did some tagging.

I wanted to rip all tracks that didn’t make to Official Soundtrack, so I have deleted some tracks that are included in OST, with exact same length. That doesn’t mean you won’t find tracks from OST in this rip, only they are here as cues or as slightly different versions.

Huge thanks to NicoDE from worldofplayers.de forums for his Witcher 2 FSB extraction tool, without it, this rip couldn’t be done.

I’m sorry for doing this, but I’ve noticed in about 50 tracks very annoying clicks at the begining of each track, so I’ve eliminated them (the clicks, not the tracks) and, while I was at it, I’ve changed the tags (for track names) to look better… So this is one final change. Sorry again, links are changed for corrected rip.

two questions:
1) does this gamerip include the tracks contained in the bonus ost (the one for the preorder I think, for which I can’t even find a goddamn tracklist)? I’m looking for it but I can’t find it.
2) it’s probably a stupid question, but the 50 tracks you eliminated: did you "fix" them (meaning you got rid of the clicks) or you got rid of the tracks, meaning there’d be missing music in this rip?

I’ve explained in the original post (after that text in bold, yeah…), that this rip doesn’t contain tracks from official OST, and as far as I know, there was only one OST, that came with the Collector’s Edition, and also in the original post, I’ve provided link to download that OST too, and it’s even from Russian Collector’s Edition. Why is that special? Because there are 23 normal tracks and a bonus track from a Polish progressive rock band Riverside.
I didn’t include OST tracks in the rip, since I already uploaded the whole OST (in FLAC), and there is no point in repeating.
And about eliminating clicks – yeah, I didn’t write that quite clear… Only the clicks were removed (literally one tenth of a second per click), all the tracks (107 tracks) remain.
So I think if you combine tracks from OST and this rip, you can have all the music from the game.
Sorry for this wall of text.

I wasn’t asking for the normal OST but for the preorder, promo one (and since I haven’t checked I don’t really know whether or not the tracks from the normal ost and the promo one can be the same), but I do now understand that you didn’t include either in the rip. -> this is played when doing the ghost mist quest(s), it’s already in the rip, but this one is actually mixed with constant sound effects for the atmosphere, hence the name.
109. Żywiołak – Oj Pietre, ti Pietre (Wiedźmin 2 Intro Ver.) (1:06)
-> the song is played at the very start of the game, it’s not in the main rip, I guess I forgot about it since it was in a video file, but here it is after a while.

Thanks for this. But couldn’t you just use 7zip? 7zip is open-source and it just works and doesn’t need recovery records!

You can open this with any archiving software free or not, it doesn’t matter what you use, but if the file gets corrupted (such as during download), 7zip compression algorithm doesn’t have recovery record option, in which case you would have to re-download the files and hope it doesn’t get corrupted again. And if you think it’s hard to find cracked fully working WinRAR, you just don’t know where to look…

I know you can open it with any program. I was just saying that 7zip does not need a recovery option because it never makes broken zip files! It just works. Surely if the file was uploaded properly then it would download properly?

No… It doesn’t matter if the file was uploaded properly, if the file hoster has some server issues or really heavy bandwidth at certain times, or something else, the file could get easily corrupted during download. Proper upload never guarantees flawless download.

I suggest you compare your files with that soundtrack instead.

As far as I know 7zip doesn’t offer such function. However it’s actually adviseable to have both 7zip and Winrar installed for two reasons.
7zip is much better at compressing, however it’s inferior to Winrar in both decompressing speed as well as the fact 7zip first unpacks the file to temp in your Windows directory, then COPIES the file to where you wanted to unpack it, then deletes the temp file.
Winrar on the other hand unpacks to your own temp directory you specified (hence you can avoid it dumping stuff to your system partition) and instead of copying the file after unpacking, it simply moves it from temp to the directory you wanted the file to be.
Bottomline, 7zip for compressing, winrar for decompressing (and file repair).

You are talking about recent Enhanced Edition soundtrack, I uploaded everything in this order:
