Now, if I’m not mistaken, I picked up these game rips in Shiro’s Definitive Lunar Music Thread Collection (or something to that tune), but instead of just turning it over as I found it, I took the liberty of splitting the whole collection up in two discs from start to finish (the track order’s nowhere close to being a hundred percent accurate to the game’s actual music placement, but it comes pretty close). I only worked with what I picked up somewhere else, so I make no guarantees on the mp3’s quality and the like. Enjoy and comment freely.

By the way, now that Silver Star Harmony’s been released (the remake of the remake), I’ve got a few gripes with certain… decisions made by Game Arts, but also a big question: what’s with that Eiphel/Aipherun guy that you fight in the Four Heroes prologue? Like Ghaleon after him, he was after Althena’s power, but other than that, we don’t know a thing about him. I mean, what’s his story? Was he a friend of Dyne and co. before his heel face turn, is he another member of the Vile Tribe, or just Darth Vader’s fruity cousin, twice removed?
I guess what really annoys me is that both Eiphel and the prologue bit are there just for filer: once it’s over, we never see or hear anything else about him. The first instance I remember a game puling something like this was with Lufia and the Fortress of Doom, the difference being that Neverland Co. actually did something with it other than razzle-dazzle gamers with what turned out to be a whole lot of nothing: not only does the prologue have actual bearing in the story per se, but you see its actual fulfillment when your party arrives to defeat the Sinistrals once again. Being so smart, Neverland took the opportunity to make a prequel with Rise of the Sinistrals, when the bit we see at the beginning of FoD gets expanded upon with a greater back story.
I’m sorry if I’m boring you: I just thought that, since you’re such a fan of Lunar, you might have more info and better PoV’s than me, being a very casual gamer who’s mostly in it for the music. Thanks for your time and patience, and do comment freely.
As a big fan of Lunar (and Iwadare Noriyuki’s work), thanks a lot for sharing this !
