Dear Friend,

I just signed a petition demanding that Ugandan President Museveni veto the "Kill The Gays" bill should it be passed in Parliament.

We just learned the �kill the gays� bill- a death sentence for LGBT people in Uganda – could come up for a vote in the next 24 hours if we don�t act now.

Conservative leaders are trying hard to push the bill forward before the millions like us who oppose it have a chance to speak out. If we can create a massive international outcry, there’s a chance to stop this bill from becoming law.

This hateful bill appears to be a political diversion, a way to distract from the legitimate grievances of pro-democracy activists, who have been beaten, teargassed, jailed, and even killed in recent weeks.

There are only days left to make sure your voice is heard. Will you join me in demanding the Ugandan President Museveni veto the "Kill The Gays" bill should it be passed in Parliament. Sign this urgent petition:

I’m with Silent here, this guy has been spamming all over the place, good reason or not, keep that shit on facebook, I come here to DL music, not to help find missing children or start world peace.

I don’t really mind that it’s here and until an admin says different, i’ll be leaving it here.

An internet petition is not going to sway the behavior of a foreign leader/parliament. Not trying to be a cold-hearted douche, here. It’s just the truth.
I agree with this, but i don’t see the harm in trying anyway.

And, I said the cause wasn’t a bad one. Issue was posting it in so many forums. If it had just been GD and the main music forum, I wouldn’t have said anything at all.

Cut nat some slack, guys! Sure, he/she posted this on the wrong section, but let’s face facts: if he’d put this in a Discussion board, it would’ve been forgotten four or five new posts later. This method is very unorthodox, but it’s the only way to get our attention for such an important cause: even if we’re unable to stop what the tyrants are doing, we must stand against them; otherwise, they may never fall.

History shows online petitions don’t really change anything, even with the gazillion signatures all over the world we couldn’t stop Uwe Boll from making movies.
If you wanna do something about it, you gotta get over there and protest with everyone else in front of the federal building.
Egyptian revolution wouldn’t happen if people were just sending petitions to president’s e-mail.

On a side note, in the gaming world, next thing you know there might be a petition to include/or not include a "Kill the GAYS" level in the next COD game.
I wouldn’t be surprised, after that civilian slaughter in russian airport, and nazi-zombies from ww2, why not run around and kill some homosexuals in Uganda?

I have to agree with you MiL0. The thing is, humanity gave up her humanity long time ago, and for some reason, to get out of the streets and fight for our own rights it is equal as "God is Going to Punish us". In my country it happens a lot. Everyone complains about how politicians are bad rulers and everything else, but they don’t do square. Only talk from their mouth up and never do anything other then useless talk and drinking beer in taverns. How can you change someone’s mind or future by sitting in taverns and drinking beer? What kidn of fight is that?
Some petitions really work at some point. But yes, if you ought to be on teh side of justice we should as well go fight for our ideals and for the others.
The more I see the knews, the more I see that mankind is a "chicken run" with a lot of excuses to not even fight for their rights. :/

While I agree with the sentiment, international outcry no matter how strong will never sway the decisions of a country as corrupt as Uganda

I would almost agree to this, except look at me. I originally joined just to leech, waited 4 years to decide I had something worth saying in a post, now I’ve even contributed a few times.
Though really, 50 posts in GD is like nothing considering how many derails happen.
