After releasing the first 3 James Bond films on Laserdisc in a 2-disc CAV format in 1991, Criterion was asked by EON Productions (producers of the James Bond Films) to recall all unsold Laserdisc product.
They felt that the audio commentary tracks on the 3 titles were unacceptable to Albert R. Broccoli, one of the original producers of the 3 films.
The people on the commentaries Bruce Eder(Film Historian), Terence Young (Director),Peter Hunt(Editor),Ken Adam(Production Designer),Richard Maibaum(Writer),Guy Hamilton (Director) speak their minds and say pretty much anything they feel with no reservations.
Like the screenwriter of From Russia With Love Richard Maibaum calling Ian Fleming a "Snob", or Director Terence Young recalling Chris Blackwell’s (founder of Island Records) affinity for marijuana.
Ideally this is best listened to whilst watching the film since much of the commentary is scene specific, but it is still a great listen on it’s own.
I bought all three LaserDiscs when they were released and within 6 months all three had been pulled and the "offending" commentary tracks removed from the new pressings, although for awhile the secondary commentaries were available on cassette from Criterion.

Absolutely. Thanks for offering. I’m a huge Bond fan and would love to hear them. Thanks so much for all your various posts.
A.
I love audio commentaries, and I would definitely love to hear the others as well! Thanks again!
I can’t wait to listen to this commentary — sounds very promising. And that’s a definite "yes" as to whether I’d like to hear the other two as well.
Thanks!

Thanks!
I have posted the other two as well.
One thing that I haven’t done before is to cue up the audio commentary with the new Blu-Ray releases, the last time I watched them together it was the standard DVD’s.
I just took my IPOD and played the commentaries back through my home theater system while watching the video.
Just curious–been trying to find that commentary for a while.

I used to have this LaserDisc, I backed up most of my LaserDiscs on VHS tape including commentaries on it’s own tape but I am not sure I backed that one up for some reason.
I will check my collection and make sure.
Ahhh, NM 😉

I appreciate it!
Any chance of a re-post please? The link seems to be down
Thanks
Certainly there is always a chance.
Hello Mikafu where have you been? Haven’t seen you in ages.
Thank you, my friend.
I wonder if there is a way to build them into a a DVD rip of the corresponding movies? Timing issues may be a problem, and I’m not savvy enough to even attempt it.
thanks

Thanks for these, they’re awesome! I’m definitely glad to hear the uncensored commentary… it does illuminate!
