Best Score/ Worst Movie?

at the moment I cannot come up with a movie I found bad and loved the score….(lots of scores I like and do not know the movie)

aha! me too. ‘lady in the water’? LOVE that score- never seen the movie… same with: equilibrium (badelt), let me in (giacchino), and secret of kells (bruno coulais).

I must be one of the few that actually liked Lady in the Water :), but if i had to choose only one good score for a bad movie, that would be The Final Conflict (Goldsmith).

Two off the top of my head–

Powell’s X-Men 3: The Last Stand
Zimmer and Horn’s Toys

I might disagree with the Spider-man though as I consider it one of the best comic book adaptation in years.

Steve Jablonsky’s score on "D-Wars – Dragon Wars"…it may have just been the only saving grace to that movie (sadly even that score wouldn’t be noticed as the sound effects diminished it to oblivion). I recall not having been able to finished watching it as It became to unbearable for me to go even further.

It dared to be different and fresh compared to most Hollywood blockbustery types.

Another great score for a not so good movie is Hook by John Williams.

The Hitman movie had a phenomenal soundtrack but the movie itself was kinda meh, but that’s sort of a given due to it being a game movie.

The Black Hole by John Barry. Not to mention Howard the Duck or Starcrash. In general, any John Barry score that isn’t a Bond film.

Along those lines, Armageddon. but recently I’d have to say Like Crazy

Don’t know if I’d say it is the "worst", but one that definitely belongs on the list is Mummy 3, where they couldn’t get Rachel Weisz back, so they replaced her with a piece of articulated cardboard! And that is only the worst problem in a very problematic movie.

But the score was awesome!

"Ratatouille" is Pixar’s finest effort to date.

I’ll echo the "Krull" and "Final Conflict" sentiments. The gulf of quality on "Krull" is so wide that the music is actually makes the film worse when you watch it (seems overblown), but on its own the score is absolutely glorious.

Yeah, the Twilight films were all done nicely, but they couldn’t hide the bad plots and storylines. Great music and scores.

NO… [B]It’s Golden Eye… Absolutely The Worst Movie Score Ever! It is just a colossal mess. They should actually re-score that movie as even the producers admit he was the wrong choice and were so grateful that David Arnold saved the day.

Rambo and Rambo III: Movies are like… meh! Scores are INCREDIBLE. I agree also on "Batman Forever" or "Krull"…

i often encounter that i like scores for asian movies, without ever wanting to actually watch the movies….

works the other way round too. i have several movies i really love, and would never ever listen to the score without watching the movie.,

I think you’re confused, my friend. The game is to name a terrible movie that has a great score. Surely you don’t think Exodus, aka the Greatest Epic Ever Made, is a clunker.
