Trying to look for VG Music Sheets online, bought or transcribed by others

But for the violin. I’m going to start taking it up and I was wondering if anyone could help me find some sheets? I tried looking around but they seem to be nonexistant or meant for more than solo play.
Also, music sheets in general for everyone else, I suppose.
Thanks again. 🙂

Well, most sheet music of a song, whatever the instrument, is going to have the melody line and you can just play that, though a lot of times you’ll have to cut out harmony notes. You’re not going to want anything that’s too complex if you’re just beginning. SquareSound.com has lots of fan-made sheet music in the Arrangements section, obviously focusing on Square games, which of course mean mainly Final Fantasy. There is a small amount of music there for non-Square games, including Mario and Zelda and less obvious ones. Most of the sheets there are straight transcriptions and not arrangements, so a lot are pretty simple.

Was there anything in particular you were looking for?

Hmm, not really. I was hoping to find some for games like Castlevania, yet specifically made for the violin.
I guess I’ll have to just keep looking. Sheets are like kryptonite.

Learn music theory. If you’re going to be playing violin, learn theory as you’re playing. For playing any instrument, being able to sight read is a huge advantage.

And once you have a decent understanding of theory, you can always arrange tracks so they fit into a range the violin can play.

Hmmm, I think that’s probably the most logical thing.
Thanks muchies. 🙂

Violins can play G3 to C8, C8 is as high as a 88 key piano can go, and G3 is below middle C, so odds are you can play any melody you see. If you want melody lines to practice with, go to vgmusic.com, open the .midi files in MuseScore. MuseScore is an open source music editing program, it displays a virtual page of sheet music for you. After you open the midi in MuseScore, crop out everything but the melody, and you’ll have something you can play.

Look at a violin fretboard, and learn how to correlate that to sheet music.

If you need some help with learning theory, PM me. I have a bunch of resources bookmarked ’cause I finally learned it last year. I’d been playing ‘by ear’ forever, but I needed to learn theory. It was easy for me to jump in, seeing as I’ve been playing for a while, but if I could have a do-over, I’d learn theory while I learned to play.

I FOR SURE will do that. I tried guitar when I was in high school and I mean, I sort of had music theory but it was critically basic. We’re talking every good boy deserves fudge and whatnot.
