LOL!

I obtained some info that bates is currently working on one due to release in the summer for itunes.
I am freaing out right now!! Where’d you get the info from? And I was kinda expecting the same as what Admiral Young said. The same happened with Sex and the City 2 and with True Blood Season 2’s scores (and Kick-Ass, as Admiral said). But at least it’s gonna get a release. I honestly don’t care if it’s lossless or not, just as long as we get it. Plus, according to WB, the Sucker Punch bluray/dvd/ ultimate collector’s edition will be out in August, so I wouldn’t be surprised it it was released then. Plus, it’s kinda like that Reconfigured TRON: Legacy soundtrack.
I for one am most DEFINATELY gonna pick up the most ultimate edition of Sucker Punch available. That is my all-time favorite film. I heared France was getting some 100Euro box with 300 and Watchmen or something.
– Watchmen standard BR
– 300 standard BR
– 2 tickets to watch the movie in theaters
– 5 collector photographies
– a Suker Punch poster
– the OST (the one already out)
– the official artbook
– a card (25€ value) to get the combo (BR/DVD/Digital) when it’s released

I’d buy this if it was released in the US. But, they’d have to make the box more beautiful (meaning, removing the ugly red and pea-green banners, maybe replacing it with "The Zack Snyder Collection" or something like that [even though he’s released a few more movies])

Whoa, where’d the info about the DVD release come from? I did a google search and couldn’t find any new info!
I forgot the site, but I swear it’s real. I REALLY hope they release the film earlier, like in June or July. Alice In Wonderland was released June 1st, and it was released in theaters on the 5th of March. Plus, Sucker Punch was pulled from my local movie theater after just two weeks.

I pray that we do. I also heared rumours that WB was planning on re-releasing Sucker Punch for one day (day of release)???

I have two contacts from the cinema industry that i talk to and they both said the same thing.
Have you asked them recently? Do they have a date?
But don’;t despair because i am looking into the bluray audio track and see if i can rip the score tracks with minimal to no sfx. Atleast till we get a score out.
Really? Can you post a snapshot?
And thanks, O.J.! I’d really appreciate you ripping the tracks 🙂
I just found out that some of the cues from the score are used in the Sucker Punch Anihilation (or however you spell it). Or at least, I found the cues played during the Distant Planet scene. If you defeat the robots on level two, and just stand there, you can hear the score played when the girls fight the robots. Can someone rip this? I assume that there may be more cues in the other games (Castle, Samurai Temple).
Tyler Bates
Adam, Not sure if the SP score will be released commercially. Probably via ITunes. If not, I’ll post it on my web site once I receive studio approval. Thanks for the good word! Tyler
As he said he’s still waiting studio approval. I supposed for marketing purposes and such.

Hmm is this an iphone game? i can probably rip this.
EDIT: hmm online flash games not sure how to rip this one since it doesn’t have audio options
Are you kidding? The soundtrack is one of the best film soundtrack I’ve heared in years! And in some cases, the songs were better than the originals. The score was his best. I really hope he gets back to me soon (I emailed him requesting information, possibility of purchase).
I am surprised that we haven’t got a fan rip of the score yet.
I am surprised that we haven’t got a fan rip of the score yet.
Oh well, I at least he hope he gives me an approximate date. I mean, why would WB want to wait an uber long time to release a score for a motion picture that is seeing home media release in a day? As I understand, Sex and the City 2’s score was released in August, while the theatrical release was at the end of May. IDK.
As for a fan-rip, I’m surprised, too. The film was released overseas about a week and a half ago…
Didn’t someone on here say something about a July/August release? I figure an announcement will come pretty soon if not next month.
Of course we do, the combat pieces were awesome, The trench battle was epic, how could sucker punch not have a score release?, they put out a a ost album with bits of score in the sucker punch remix with annoying ass lyrics and basically tease us with it. Every movie by zack snyder had a score release why not sucker punch?
I don’t understand why people come onto boards for things they don’t like just to bitch about it. I won’t say don’t ruin it for others (as I hate that saying), but you don’t have to be a dick about it.
A score only release would be kinda unsatisfying. A score/song compilation would be more fitting imho.
Exactly.
Aww, that’s too bad. Have your tried the DVD? Can you please do me a big favour? Can youplease rip the audio from the whole scene when Babydoll first dances (including SFX)? I mean where Madam Gorski turns on the tape player, and the music goes on, then stops. Then she gives her speech, and the song plays again? I like the tape effect played before the songs kick in.
Score in the movie was unnoticeable – you really want a release?
Not to start a fight or anything, but you can be rue sometimes. I’ve seen you in a couple of threads, and quite frankly, I just had to say something about your negativity. I guess your avatar serves you right.
———- Post added at 05:20 PM ———- Previous post was at 05:15 PM ———-
I actually have to slightly agree to this comment. The songs definitely took front stage in the film and the score was more or less just there to tie them together.
A score only release would be kinda unsatisfying. A score/song compilation would be more fitting imho.
I agree with you about the songs, and how they ‘took front stage’. But that’s kinda the whole point of the film’s music. Using contemporary music to escape into a fantasy world when reality is just too grim, doesn’t everybody do that? And I also like the idea of a score/soundtrack release- but that would kind of ruin the mood of the soundtrack, and if the score was tied with the songs, that would ruin the whole mood of the songs (for the soundtrack, unlike in the film).
But I don’t see how a Digital-Only score release could hurt WB. Do they have to pay to get it up on iTunes, or how does all of that stuff work?
I actually tried from the bluray mate.

I was reffering to OJ Simdicks, lol. But the same goes for Bates 🙁 How long did we wait for Kick-Ass? (I remember being one of the people waiting for it, but I wasn’t TOO into it like others were.)
Well anyway i tried to rip from the 5.1 bluray but too much sfx.
What’s frustrating is that all of his previous films soundtracks have been released, the only difference with this one is that this was co-produced with Marious DeVries so perhaps there is some hang up on his end.

I was thinking the same thing about Marius DeVries… but all of his work has seen the light of day though, which makes this whole Sucker Punch score thing really weird. Wasn’t he also involved with Kick-Ass? And was the score for that released three months after the theatrical exhibition of the film or the home media release?
I thought that one of Zack Snyder’s films didn’t get a release though… I just hope Sucker Punch is released eventually.
The score as has been mentioned is nearly invisible and you pretty much have to be paying attention to hear it, but it is there and it’s pretty bad ass. The DVD has a featuerette with Snyder, Bates, and DeVries talking about the score briefly along with the soundtrack album. I think DeVries brings a good balance of traditional cinematic composition to Bates more edgier techno rock style that really makes the music in the film work. I really hope the wait ends and we get this score.
And how did you download it? I may just be a blind idiot, but is there a link or something? You can’t click on Megaupload or Rapidshare, they do nothing. There’s nothing there, unless I’m just missing it (which I probably am)

The SUCKER PUNCH soundtrack is set for a March 22 release, and features artists Alison Mosshart, Queen, Emiliana Torrini and Bjrk, reimagined versions of classic songs and tunes from the film s stars Emily Browning, Carla Gugino and Oscar Isaac.
WaterTower Music is releasing SUCKER PUNCH: The Original Motion Picture Soundtrackthe audio companion to the film director Zack Snyder describes as ALICE IN WONDERLAND with machine guns. Snyder collaborated with Grammy-nominated composer and music director Marius de Vries and composer Tyler Bates to select the collection of songs featured on the soundtrack.
Working with Marius and re-teaming with Tyler on SUCKER PUNCH s soundtrack was an extraordinary experience, says Snyder. SUCKER PUNCH is a film created with multiple levels of reality, so this same layered construct had to be considered and applied when approaching the music. The selection of songs we chose and the various ways in which they were each re-envisioned had to add depth, dimension and meaning to the sequences they exist within. Marius and Tyler did an amazing job creating an intricate musical landscape to accompany the surreal imagery of the film.
Reworked versions of classic songs illuminate the soundtrack, with the film s star Browning covering Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) (Eurythmics), Where is My Mind? (The Pixies) and Asleep (The Smiths), and actors Gugino and Isaac performing a musical theater-inspired version of Love is the Drug (Roxy Music). Alison Mosshart and Carla Azar team up on a version of Tomorrow Never Knows (The Beatles). And Bjrk fans will enjoy the newly created version of Army of Me (Sucker Punch Remix) that features Skunk Anansie.
TRACK LISTING:
1. Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) – Emily Browning
2. Army of Me (Sucker Punch Remix) – Bjrk featuring Skunk Anansie
3. White Rabbit – Emiliana Torrini
4. I Want It All/We Will Rock You Mash-Up – Queen w/ Armageddon a.k.a Geddy
5. Search and Destroy – Skunk Anansie
6. Tomorrow Never Knows – Alison Mosshart and Carla Azar
7. Where is My Mind? – Yoav featuring Emily Browning
8. Asleep – Emily Browning
9. Love is the Drug – Carla Gugino and Oscar Isaac
hope this helps.
Are u guys requesting for uploading this?
@babydoll ill take a look at this!Thnx for the reply.
canot find anything i think that the score is still not out we have to waith.
some information about the score…
THE MUSIC OF "SUCKER PUNCH"
The conduit between Babydoll’s life in the brothel and her escapist fantasies is musicMadam
Gorski puts on a song, and Babydoll closes her eyes and is taken away, captivating everyone
around her. Therefore, the "Sucker Punch" soundtrack had to convey exactly the right mood at
every turn. Director Zack Snyder collaborated with Marius de Vries and Tyler Bates to compose
the score and arrange and produce an eclectic collection of songs that would hit the right notes
within the various realms of the story.
"I think one of the most powerful and important elements of cinema is the music," Snyder
asserts. "And because Babydoll accesses her fantasies through dance, the music in this movie
was even more critical."
"’Sucker Punch’ is a very dream-like movie, with themes of escape and hope, and redemption
through the imagination," says de Vries, who worked with Snyder for the first time on this film.
"The music had to have a strong connection with those themes. And in many cases, Zack wanted
to use songs in place of score, so that the lyrics could help navigate the way through the complex
scenes and illuminate Babydoll’s state of mind. It was a really enjoyable challenge."
Along with Bates, de Vries and Snyder chose evocative works that could be co-opted into doing
the job of a traditional score, but also remain recognizable as they conveyed both the action and
the psychology of the story. "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" was given a sultry, melancholy

I’m so happy! We still need the Samurai Battle, Train & Bomb sequence, and Intro/Asylum.
Did anyone manage to get the two tracks from the other site? (Dragon Wakes & Bus??)
And any word on the instrumentals for the tracks?
I emailed Tim about it. "The Bus" now works everyone
Thanks. I’ve ripped it, will post soon.

Yeah, I still want the Train sequence!!
It’s available on the Sucker Punch anihilation game, but you have to beat the 2nd round of robots, and just stand there and let the music play.
on a side note, can anybody up ‘Angel Muse’ Bill’s L.A. Riverstunt’ from Baadasssss, and any tracks of Tyler’s from ‘The Dead Will Tell’
Thanx in advance

And when you get to the Train sequence, after you defeat a couple of robots, you are able to stand there without interruptions- someone could rip the audio from that. I would do it, but I don’t have the tools to.
And I’m surprised the blu-ray/DVD audio hasn’t been ripped yet lol! I guess we will never get a full score.
I didnt have all those tracks yet… It’s a great score a complete score would be nice…
You can rip with audacity with the "what u hear" option

Cool! I only played through it for like 20 minutes, but I’m perfectly capable of getting the bits of score that there are. So i’ll go ahead and work with this, and i’ll pass the rips I get onto you before I leave the site.
Okay quick update, I think i’m going to be able to put together the cue titled "ROBOT BOMB CAR" as given by BMI. (The cue titles are on there) So basically the sequence when they’re getting the bomb ready and the robot stops them.
I also have an atmospheric cue called "WISEMAN" i’ll work on getting it finished. As for the songs they use in the Castle level of the game, I didn’t hear any of that during the scene it represented, so there’s a good possibility those are Unused cues.
EDIT:
Here’s the cue titles I mentioned:
Songwriter/Composer
BATES TYLER LEE
DE VRIES MARIUS
SUCKER PUNCH (Legal Title)

LENNOX HOUSE (Legal Title)

BMI Work #13117326
BUS STATION (Legal Title)
BMI Work #13117328

Okay well, the cue list above is from BMI. Here’s another one from ASCAP:
Writers:
BATES TYLER LEE
VAN WYK DE VRIES MARIUS
BLUE AND BLONDIE
BLUE S CLUE
BUS DEPARTS
BUS STATION
DRAGON BATTLE
FIRE ALARM
GERMAN BUNKER
INTERIOR BUNKER
LENNOX HOUSE
MAP CHASE
ROBOT/BOMB CAR
THE WISEMAN/SAMURAI FIGHT
TORTURED SOULS
It has an extra cue called "Tortured Souls" so im not sure where that plays in, but yeah. There are cue segments i’ve been getting from the game, and also I just watched the Blu-Ray’s maxiumum movie mode, and there are like 15 parts where there are still galleries that pop up and they have cues playing during them, COMPLETELY clean cues, and there’s about 13 pieces of music that I havent heard before, I couple of them I know what they are, "LENNOX HOUSE", "ROBOT / BOMB CAR", "BUS STATION" were among them, but the other 10 I have no clue where they’re placed in the movie so I’ll have to rip these clean cues and figure out where they go within the movie, some of these might actually be Unused cues because near the end of the galleries there’s a cue that sounds VERY similar to "Bus" we got from Timothy Williams, BUT it’s done completely different, so there’s a possibility that it’s "BUS DEPARTS" by Tyler Bates and it was replaced by Timothy Williams’ "Bus". Things happen like that. So yeah, it looks like we’re making some more progress believe it or not. Anyone else know anymore sources?
I wish i knew more sources but just try to get w/e you can and perhaps we might not need a full score release!
Besides the game and the official site, and the Blu-ray + Maximum mode, I don’t see any other place we can get score from. Maybe the other bonus features? Other than that, we have to work with what we’ve got (including Tyler’s site).
I’m so excited! A year later, and we’re finally getting somewhere!
I don’t think he’s been on in a while. Sent him a few PMs, no reply. lol!
XD Sorry you guys! I’m going to get the Blu-Ray gallery tracks to you Zodiac and see if you can help me place them within the film, once we figure out where these cues belong, we can figure out our chances on if A.) They’re full cues, and B.) If not, where the rest of the cue is so we can attempt to add on the rest from the DVD Rip I did.
World War One – 6:08
Fire Alarm – 1:44
Dragon Part 1 – 4:04

Does anyone have the Timothy Williams site tracks in their original quality format? They sound distorted, as if they were converted upwards in quality to 320kbps. I’m not complaining, but I bet the quality would sound better in its original format. Thanks!
1. I don’t know the movie enough, I have only seen some scenes.
2. I will try to obtain the material adapted to realize an extraction as finished as possible.
3. Even so, I do not want to assure that it should be possible to manage, but I will try it.
4. If I obtain it, immediately I will upload my edition in a new post, but I will provide you the link in this thread.
There are many films that do not have an original soundtrack, and many of them for decades. Anyway, if this extraction comes to succeed, perhaps one day publish the background music for this film in the original score and this extraction will be obsolete, meanwhile we would have this version.
In the messages of my profile you can read the news that there will be in relation to my uploads and posts. Give me at least two weeks to realize the work, and remember, I will try it but I do not promise to achieve it, since it depends on any factors. Thanks.

I can’t use these links in a thread of mine because I don’t upload them, that’s why I place them in this post.
I’m not sure, but I think that it’s all the music. I’ve only seen the film once, so you tell me if it’s okay with this music or I realize the extraction of being possible.
Nope its not the score.
Both of these are from the end of the film, and when you place Timothy Williams’ "Bus Departs" after these two you’ll have the last three cues of the film. Both of these ARE the correct cue titles
01. Tortured Souls (1:37)
02. Bus Station (1:06)
It does appear however that the cue "Bus Station" is missing about 3 seconds of score about 15 seconds in. The source itself had these 3 seconds edited out, making it slightly inaccurate to the films version, but the whole cue is here, just missing a 3 second insert which…unfortunately is buried under a voice over and loud environment effects, you can barely hear the beginning of this cue in the film’s final mix, but yep. (SEE EDIT) Making progress. I also have a clean segment of "Lennox House", a couple of action cues, and a couple of other tracks (Haven’t placed them yet). And I even think I have Tyler Bates’ version of "Bus Departs" (which was replaced by Timothy Williams’ version) and this version is much more of a grande finale, as opposed to the final cue which very subtle.
EDIT: Upon further VERY close listening, it appears "Bus Station" is NOT missing 3 seconds of score, but rather the film version is edited, the same bit of score I thought was missing at that point is actually played later in the cue. I’ll make a Film Edit as well as have the original cue.
Hopefully tomorrow. Another update: Full length (With the exception of fading out a second early) and completely clean cue "Blue and Blondie" This short atmospheric cue plays when Blondie is crying after the confrontation with Blue and is retrieving the tape player.
EDIT: Another update. I have a second segment of "Lennox House" so, there’s a good possibility I can piece that track together.
EDIT #2: I think I have found an Unused piece of music, Piano and Strings. Can’t place it anywhere in the movie. There’s a good possibility it may have been score for a scene, but replaced by the instrumental of "Where is My Mind?"
EDIT #3: Okay, regarding the piece titled "ROBOT / BOMB CAR". If I divide it into Parts, each part being where the music comes to a climax and then stops. There are About 4 parts. I have the entirety of Part 1 clean, I have all of Part 2 (which appears to have an extended opening versus what appears in the film) I think I MIGHT have some of Part 3 from the Sucker Punch game, and I have the first minute or so from Part 4, after Part 4 and skips back to the song on the OST.
Okay welp, final update for the night. I’ll start doing the hard work tomorrow, but from the Blu-Ray’s Maximum Movie Mode alone, i’ve got 9:58, rounded up, 10 minutes of completely clean unreleased material. There’s still probably another 1-2 minutes from the online game that are usable at some places (not as much as we’d like though because there’s alot of looping involved), So yeah i’d say a pretty good dent has been made in this score. Now I just have to use all my sources to put the segments together XD. Going by that cue list, here’s what we have:
LENNOX HOUSE (2 Different Segments, the 2nd Actually picking up exactly where the first one stops, and the 2nd segment does finish out the cue, still missing the opening 20 seconds however)
WISEMAN SAMURAI FIGHT (Scattered Segments of this throughout the level in the Sucker Punch game)
BLUE AND BLONDIE (Full cue, with the exception of it fading out merely a second too early)
ROBOT BOMB CAR (Full Length Part 1, Full Length Part 2 (With Extra Opening), Part 4 (Bits on the DVD Menu and also in the Sucker Punch game) Part 3 is missing entirely.
TORTURED SOULS (Full cue)
BUS STATION (Full cue)
BUS DEPARTS (A very interesting alternate, while this isn’t confirmed, I do know for a fact that this cue is listed in the cue listing with the authors as Tyler Bates and the other guy, whereas Timothy Williams’ name is no where on that cue. Therefore, i’m making the assumption that Tyler Bates composed one, and Timothy Williams composed one (considering his is the one that was used in the film and posted on his site) So, upon listening, this hits the same notes, and has the same feel, and also same sudden stop for "It’s you…Now FIGHT!" Bates’ version is as I said before MUCH more grand.)
And also an un named Unused Cue.
Welp, that’s all for now folks!
World War One – 6:08
Fire Alarm – 1:44
Dragon Part 1 – 4:04
Dragon Part 2 – 1:47
Thanks for the re-up!
You are right friend, now when I have seen the movie two times I realize that the orchestral music is missing. I am quite busy these days, but as soon as I have a chance I will try to make the extraction of the music and I will post my results.
1.) A release that’s JUST the score.
2.) A COMPLETE release, which will incorporate ALL sources, resulting in SOME cues with sound effects to fill in the missing gaps. The score will be within the songs. OR..
3.) An EXPANDED release, which will use all SFX-Free Material to create an Expanded Soundtrack, this will include OST Songs + Score + Trailer Tracks. And the score will be edited into the songs like in the film
Personally, i’m keen to do Number 3, but i’ll see what has more demand here, and then do whatever I prefer for myself.
I had 2 there for the sake of those who’d want a "Complete" score, with everything I could possibly get, because if I just do 3, there will still be bits of score missing, but in 2 I would use the DVD to fill in the gaps in the score (which would contain SFX)
EDIT: I know there are only 4 replies, but it appears overall, 3 is the most popular choice. In which case here’s my predicted tracklist:
SUCKER PUNCH (ZEEKY5678 EXPANDED SCORE + SOUNDTRACK)
*Includes Dialogue from the film
01 Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)
02 Lennox House
03 Where Is My Mind?*
04 Main Attractions* [Dialogue]
05 Asleep
06 [Cook Choir Piece 1] (Haven’t had time to put the track in yet, but I already know what it is and where to get it, so don’t worry)
07 Army Of Me*
08 Where Is My Mind? (Reprise)*
09 The Plan* [Dialogue]
10 White Rabbit* / World War I
11 I Want It All / We Will Rock You*
12 Search And Destroy / Dragon*
13 Blue’s Lecture* [Dialogue]
14 Blue and Blondie
15 [Cook Choir Piece 2] (See Track 06)
16 Tomorrow Never Knows* / Robot / Bomb Car
17 The Key* [Dialogue]
18 Fire Alarm
19 Where Is My Mind? (Reprise II)*
20 Tortured Souls
21 Bus Station
22 Bus Departs
23 Bus Departs (Alternate)
24 Army Of Me (Reprise)
25 Love Is The Drug
+Trailer Tracks and Timothy Williams 2 Demo Tracks
Now as you notice I am adding dialogue to certain tracks, just to make a NEW overall experience, different from the OST, if you want the clean OST versions of the songs, go get the OST. This isn’t the OST, this is my take on this score + Soundtrack and I think the dialogue would be a nice addition. The dialogue will not be over the new score material. I will also have all the correct artists on each track
To compare the tracklist for Option 2 would look more like this:
* Dialogue
** SFX
01 Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)
02 Lennox House**
03 Where Is My Mind?*
04 Main Attractions* [Dialogue]
05 Asleep
06 [Cook Choir Piece 1] (Haven’t had time to put the track in yet, but I already know what it is and where to get it, so don’t worry)
07 Army Of Me*/ Wiseman / Samurai Fight**
08 Where Is My Mind? (Reprise)*
09 The Plan* [Dialogue]
10 White Rabbit* / World War I
11 I Want It All / We Will Rock You*
12 Search And Destroy / Dragon*
13 Blue’s Lecture* [Dialogue]
14 Blue and Blondie
15 [Cook Choir Piece 2] (See Track 06)
16 Tomorrow Never Knows* / Robot / Bomb Car**
17 The Key* [Dialogue]
18 Fire Alarm
19 Where Is My Mind? (Reprise II)*
20 Tortured Souls
21 Bus Station
22 Bus Departs
23 Bus Departs (Alternate)
24 Army Of Me (Reprise)
25 Love Is The Drug
So I know what you mean there. 😉
I am really eager for your work. 🙂

I’ve made the decision to weave dialogue throughout the SONGS (not the new score) so it’s not just a rehash of the OST, it’s REALLY upping the emotion!
I know, was merely bumping it up. xD In case anyone else might be interested. ;p
01. Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)
02. Lennox House
03. Where Is My Mind?
04. Main Attractions [Dialogue]
05. Asleep
06. [COOK CHOIR PIECE 1] <—Still to lazy to type the full title in atm
and I was in the process of working on Army of Me. So we’re getting places!
Still working with this, trying to figure out what’s best to do at certain places. I’m definitely working on it though
Glad to know that Sucker Punch has gained a decently sized cult following since it’s release.
MOST, but not all, plus, Tyler Bates and …the other guy… helped arrange some of the songs as well. So there’s even score interwoven throughout the songs. If you go back a page or two I actually list the names of the cues that are "Score"
The newest one is "World War One Pt. 3". I don’t recall that ever being released.

This one was released before on tylers site!
Which other cues do you think are unreleased material from sucker punch?
maybe the person is too busy.
I have not yet finished my DB unreleased music collection, because I am missing some software I have in other places I did not found yet. XD

I do see he posted in the Into Darkness Sessions thread too, so he seems active via reading and pm. But like so many of us, he seems to have had enough interaction with general members here.

In some form sure. But not in a way that is actually accessible to the majority of listeners. The likelihood of a sesions leak is nil. All these years, have YOU heard a whisper of it? I haven’t. Better luck getting Titanic is the impression I get.

blame that on the studio not the composer
