private messages?

I can’t seem to send private messages. There aren’t any PM links or Email links anywhere in the threads, or in members profiles… how do I send a PM?

Have to have 5 posts before you’re shifted into the user group that can private message. It’s scheduled, or something like that. So, if it doesn’t happen the second you get 5 posts, don’t worry. Just wait a while.

I was wondering about this and that is an odd way to deal with it but ow well

We used to get a huge amount of people registering to spam pms, and the 5 post limit to pm was implemented to counteract that. It’s kind of a pain, but 5 posts are pretty easy to get, and it’s a lot nicer than regularly getting spam links to random websites in your pm box!

Fair dos. I’ve just posted a couple of times in various threads to get over 5, and then thought something was wrong when I couldn’t PM. Turns out I’m just being impatient!
