How much music was written for the game? Are there any live performances?
Dan Forden: In-house, we wrote most of the in-game fight music, as well as all UI music and some movie scores. We also contracted out to external composers to write music for a number of the movies in the story mode and they did a stellar job. Personally, I played a lot of guitar and some flute for the in-game fighting music and Rich did some guitar as well. I don’t know how much total music was written, but I’d guess it would fill at least 2 CD’s. (http://www.game-ost.com/articles.php?id=96&action=view)

I guess, external composers, who wrote music for the movies in the story mode, were Sascha Dikiciyan & Cris Velasco.

Unfortunately, the music for the movies has speech over them, so i didn’t include those in the rip. Hopefully it gets an official release.

Shang Tsung’s Gardens and Shang Tsung’s Gardens (Night) use the same song. The Pit, The Pit (Day), and The Pit (Bottom) use the same song. Rooftop (Dawn) and Rooftop (Day) use the same song. All the other stages have their own song. Also, he mislabeled Evil Monastery as "The Tower."

I named it "The Tower" because that’s what the file was called.

Its called both names. In the story mode they refer to it as the tower. Either one is correct.

Is this game released yet? I as cuz I know its MK which I am a BIG fan of but wondering if its worth the money cuz there’s other games I want also that I gotta save up for. Even though its MK & I’m anticipating this game, I felt the same about Armageddon which was a bit of a letdown cuz of the character endings & MK vs DC which was a good concept & had some cool in fighting tactics and whatnot IMO but felt a bit repetitive.

Regardless of replies, I’ll likely buy it but I wanna know a little of what I can expect in terms of the overall game – if anything new or updated, please state it. Is Konquest mode back? Hated Deception’s Konquest but LOVED Armageddon’s. LOVED Chess Kombat too from Deception.

I don’t have any experience with MK games after 2/3, but I’ll say that the new MK plays much like MK2/3 with elements of Tekken (particularly the juggle combo system and the way the character’s canned combos work). I like to think of the new MK system as Street Fighter lite combined with Tekken lite, and this is not a criticism. It’s still fundamentally a 2d fighter but not quite as refined as Street Fighter. In the same sense, it has juggle based combos like Tekken but again not quite as deep as their system. It really is a fun amalgamation of the 2 systems but not fundamentally deeper than either on it’s own. Timing is not overall as strict as Street Fighter when pulling off combos and the controls are more forgiving in general. However, when pulling off more elaborate combos, timing does come into the picture more significantly, just not "just-frame" in terms of strictness.

Personally, I’m loving the game. I haven’t played MK vs DC but seen videos of it and I would safely say everything about the new MK surpasses it utterly. The graphics, controls, and overall polish are amazing. All of the characters feel unique and have their own distinct feel. The fact that the characters now have unique moves contributes to this, only shared moves are the classic uppercut, sweep, and jump punches and kicks. You can tell the developers put alot of love into the game and it shows. This is one of the few fighting games I actually enjoy spending time in the practice mode to discover new combos for characters and discovering what moves link into what, etc.

I have no idea what Konquest mode is since I haven’t played recent MK otherwise. Main modes seem to be ladder mode/arcade more, story mode, and challenge tower. You earn currency by playing which you can use to unlock extras in the "krypt" which is pretty cool. I haven’t played too much of the game yet outside of ladder, story, and online so there’s probably other modes or things I’m missing.
