Nobuo Uematsu – Lost Odyssey – Looped [MP3/FLAC]

Hey guys, more of my looping work. None of the pieces on the official OST loop, and maybe that has contributed to some people’s more negative reactions to this soundtrack. I looped every one that could and that brings the total time of this up more than an hour, and it’s easily mostly the better for it. However, there will likely be some assembly required for most people, as some of these songs are better off not being so long. I figure it’s best to let the listeners decide which ones for themselves, so as you listen, if you think something is too long, if you already have this soundtrack, you should replace that track with the file from your regular set, and if you don’t already have it, go to this page (http://bluelaguna.net/music/lost-odyssey-ost-soundtrack/mp3s.php) to download the individual MP3, or I’ll upload individual FLACs for you if you ask. No problem at all there. I should say, there are only five that I prefer to not loop.

Thanks to Sirusjr for his FLAC upload in the Lossless Video Game Soundtrack Thread from which I made these. This is the complete soundtrack, including all the non-looping tracks for the sake of ease. I just thought that I probably should have marked which ones I did stuff to, but it’s a little late now. :laugh: Here’s the list of tracks that do NOT loop:

I used videos on YouTube to help me find the correct looping points for certain tracks, but this seemed to me only needed for three: "Wohl Highlands", "The Capital of Uhra", and "The Witch’s Mansion". It sounds like "Demonic Infringement" should loop, but it actually can’t. Listen to the notes at the end at what sounds like the loop point and then go back to the beginning; they’re not the same. This track plays in movie scenes and, from what I saw on YouTube, it normally doesn’t even get to play this long.

The artist tags of these files are by arranger and then, when applicable, vocalist, meaning mostly as "Satoshi Henmi, Hiroyuki Nakayama" because we all know Uematsu composed the music, but Henmi and Nakayama are the arrangers, and thus responsible for how you’re hearing what you’re hearing. Uematsu is still in the composer and album artist tags, I just wanted to give a little more credit where it’s due. I also don’t understand why people always tag vocal tracks as the vocalist simply being the artist when, like for example here, Sheena Easton sang lyrics someone else wrote to a tune someone else wrote over an instrumental backing that other people wrote and performed.

If anyone finds a track that I looped in the wrong place, certainly notify me and I’ll do my best to fix it up. And, as always, just tell me if the links go down. Hope you enjoy!

What program did you used to create the looping? Is there also a program that can help you find the loop point? More than that is there a thread that talks about things like these like a tutorial?

I used Sony’s ACID Pro 7.0, but it’s not like it’s automated. You have to do the work yourself, listening for the loop point and then making it seamlessly segue into the repeat. I haven’t seen a thread, but I can teach you. It’s not too hard once you get the hang of it.

There’s a DepositFiles link active that can be found here (http://depositfiles.org/files/rkk71m91g), but, unfortunately, it happens to be corrupted or damaged – once it downloads, and you open it, it will give you an "unexpected end of archive" message. I tried that link two times with the same result in each.

I’ve tried downloading from there, but the download always times out and craps on me; I can’t never get it to go past 35%. But perhaps lady luck is far more generous with you. It is a crazy link, isn’t it? I often go out of my way to try and find stuff, in other words, Google is a very beautiful thing when properly used. Essentially I searched for the Japanese title, and was redirected to a Chinese forum that had that link, but unfortunately I never manage to get it to work, as previously stated.

Anyway, I’ll try to get the lossy link ready soon. 🙂
