Never seen it around. Folks want it, but i do not think it is real. Although, the new Elfman box should come close.

If you read the details on that page, it says it was never released on cd. At the very bottom of the track list, in deep blue. Never released on cd. So, IF it leaked, likely it is as mp3. The odds of it showing lossless are pretty slim, if there is no cd to rip it from. And, the complete version has only 9 extra tracks. None of the other versions available have any new extra score. The extra material is all alts and demos. I am just saying, I do not think this is get-able as flac certainly.

As for the expanded Coraline, I believe that was an academy promo? As such discs must be around, but i am not sure a lossless version showed here. But, foggy memory suggests it may have.

The expanded beetlejuice I believe is an ISO score. Maybe a rip. I don’t have it. But, either way, again no lossless likely there.

There are some members very versed in this, perhaps they will weigh in. The lack of these in good quality is why everyone is on pins and needles about that new set. Many of these will be substantially expanded, and perhaps we may even get some lossless uploads. Right guys???

Well I just want the film version tracks from NBC. If it is not released, I will live with mp3. I wonder why either official releases are not the way tracks are heard in the film or is not indicated all the time whether it is the film version or not. They are film osts. Might as well just release how it sounds in the film. But since tracks are never really indicated as film versions, we’ll never know till we watch the film & try to hear it though it’s hard with dialogue & harder with sfx.

Hopefully film version tracks of the films will be on the set.

A lot of times, the albums are put together for artistic experiences. A bunch of shortercues, that stop and start suddenly like a film edit can, is not the best listening experience for many people. Many composers are involved in the composition aspects of the album, and often shorter cues are arranged into suites, for a better musical experience. The original Star Wars albums are a good example of this. This is also often why the cues are out of film order too, to balance out the listening experience. An "expanded" score done by a fan can often simply be an album where those suites are re-edited back into the short cues, and put into film sequence. The album then is "expanded", has more tracks, but not any more run-time or actual new music. I suspect the "expanded" Willow is something like that. Despite many more tracks, it runs barely 4 or so minutes longer than the OST….

well the expanded Batman released by La-La Land run longer & are put in film sequence & that’s a company, therefore not a fan edit. i wish other scores were like that – complete & in film sequence. and the track should be indicated as film version or whatever it is so we know. the track order isn’t really a big deal these days. many people put their music into portable players. i always re-arrange the track order into a film sequence order & then put it into my ipod. it depends on the individual listener. some people prefer a film sequence order while others don’t. some prefer film version tracks while other may not. i happen to prefer both but accept non film version tracks of they are done well but IMO, they pale in comparison to film version cues most of the time in my personal listening experience

No, yea I know. Many expanded and complete scores released by labels, or leaked elsewhere, are exactly that. I was just pointing out that some…aren’t. Its hard to know these days til after you dl it and take a look.

As for film versions..I am on the fence about that. Many film scores are re-edited to suit the director’s personal interest. James Horner in particular has ahd his stuff butchered. In the case of Aliens, more like sent through a meat grinder and then a blender…..If you listen to Aliens Deluxe, there are cues that never got used in the movie, or are as written. If you listen to the Aliens ISO score, you here what was in the film, including music that is not horner’s, or the chopped and tracked, and re-re-tracked cues….so for me, I prefer the composer’s score, as on the Deluxe album, as opposed to the actual film presentation. The same goes for Titnic, and Avatar.

BTW, that Edward complete is only 55 min long. Does that seem too short? Usually the Burton films are very musical. Where did you see it at 320? I only have it at 256 vbr….

I love the composer’s or director’s versions. But also the film versions (the way it’s heard or sounds in the film. Example: Charge Of The Batmobile (Film Version) from Batman 1989 expanded. If you listen to the original track that was released on the original 1989 score (that is also a track on the expanded) & then listen to the Film Version track closely, you’ll notice that the Film Version is complete while original is missing a small note or cue, whatever it’s called. What I am referring to is the Film Version has the part where after the Batmobile drops the bomb & explosions goes off, there is a musical that is missing from the original version. You’d have to watch the film & listen closely before hearing the track. I think the original Attack Of The Batwing was missing stuff 2 while the new expanded track has everything. Same with some tracks from Batman Returns if you compare original & expanded.

The Edward complete….idk if it was ever on here. I think this site has a complete rip of it but do not know of the quality. I did see it on ebay though but like I said, who knows if it’s real or not.

idk I guess sometimes composer’s or director’s version is better while other times, Fil Versions are better but I like em all.

Is it an official release? like i said, saw i on ebay but don’t know if it was officially released. just because its seen on ebay doesn’t mean its official. havent seen it on amazon i dont think….

No, as far as I know, there was no official expanded or complete Edward. I believe it may be an ISO score, or perhaps it was leaked, but I am pretty sure no label released it. I would really advise against e-bay…I do know it is clean, no fx.

and i’d like to go back to the film/composer version for a sec & say that the album should contain what is advertised yet a lot of time, it does not. i’ve gotten a lot of cd’s thinking they were film version tracks since it was advertised as such. ill admit they were close to it & i believed they were till i rewatch the film. WWE does this a lot. On their Full Metal & Vol.2-5, the cd said "As Heard On TV" or something yet it wasn’t really the case…at least not completely as the TV/Arena versions are in some way shape or form edited while the cd contains the music in full which is fine but if you’re gonna say it’s as heard on tv or arena, then the edited versions should be there so the advertisement will be true.

again though, sometimes one sounds better than the other which is why i prefer all versions.
