I tried deleting two threads in my group but was only given a "soft delete option". How do I permanently remove them, as I will not be restoring them? There is no option I can see. Are such features disabled on this board?

That wasn’t an option made available when the forums were updated. You also can’t upload photos, just as another example. Not all the functions work.

However, the soft delete gets the job done. In my group, we regularly use a soft-delete on finished conversations. They drop to the bottom of the list of threads, and the current threads stay on top. They’re not completely gone, but they are out of sight, which is just as good.

Mine appear to me to be in amongst the other active threads.

It doesn’t look like you’ve deleted any threads yet. You need to check the box to the right of the thread, click on the Moderation Tools drop-down menu at the bottom of the page, click on the first option ("Delete Discussions"), then click Proceed, then give a reason for the deletion.

After you delete a thread, it’ll get a darker background and will have a "discussion deleted" note under the thread title. You can see examples at the bottom of this page (http://forums.ffshrine.org/groups/vgm-rumble-group-procrastination-station/).

I have, I deleted two threads but I still see them. I want them gone completely:

Did that work? I can’t see them when I’m logged out. I can still see them when I’m logged in, though.

I can still see them but I dont want to, its ugly. Can you ‘hard delete’ them?

Neg

Apparently not. You’ll need someone higher.

Maybe Jessie, but probably an admin.

Can u ask them for me?

Neg

Just checked and regular users can’t see them anyway. No reason to worry.

Highly doubt admins would take the time to delete threads that only you and staff can see.

Oh, so does that mean most people can’t see all of the threads soft-deleted on here (http://forums.ffshrine.org/groups/vgm-rumble-group-procrastination-station/) either?

Checked yours too when I was making sure I was right before posting. So, yeah, I couldn’t see them on my normal account.

Thanks! Well, I feel silly trying to use that as an example. :-\ Now I know.

Only mods/admins and the creator of a group can see deleted threads for that group.

This was one of the things that aggravated me about this forum when I first joined (still kinda does but not as much) is how you can’t delete your own posts or threads you create. I’ve never created a group though mainly because I kinda find them pointless and since they’re not really in your face I tend to forget about them pretty easily.
