Hey everyone, here’s a debate for you gamers like me out there. What would you consider to be the best graphics in a video game ever, so far? There’s gorgeous graphics on the PS3, and the PC can still produce brilliance when pushed to the limit. The XBox 360 isn’t quite on par, but still has great stuff. The Wii is even more inferior, but your graphics may not be about technical graphics, but artistic imagery, which it’s arguable the Wii has better artistic graphics than the other consoles.

So, what graphics in a game has impressed you the most?

Best graphics as far as the technical side goes, that’s easily Crysis.

As far as the more artsy stuff goes, that’s what’s debatable. Can’t decide an all time favorite without thinking it through for a long time, but off the top of my head, Folklore was hauntingly beautiful.

QFT…

The art part is what’s debatable. The Wii may have many games with a lot of Art involved.
But the PS3 has it’s share too. And I agree that Folklore looks hauntingly beautiful too.
Castlevania Lords Of Shadow is a game that looks pretty artistic, but it’s style is more gothic & dark. Not very colorful.
Metal Gear Solid series has a lot artistic content too. MGS 4 does not stay behind in that aspect. But the style is completely different as well.
The same we could say for the Silent Hill Series.

It depends more on the taste of every person more anything else.

EDIT: If I say a game that captivates me in art & graphics, I say Vagrant Story. But it’s a PS1 game. The textures may look pixelated, but seeing them in motion it’s more realistic & at the same time artistic than most games I’ve seen & played so far.

So far, I have yet to see a game with better graphics than Metal Gear Solid 4: Sons of the Patriots. And I don’t even have a PS3 but I’ve seen it in action at my brother’s (he has a PS3). I’m going by overall realistic looking graphics. Any game can be artsy but when it comes to which is the best so far, I go by how realistic the game looks and right now, I haven’t seen anything that beats MGS4.

Metal Gear Solid 4 has a lot of muddy textures and its low resolution brings it down.

I think Uncharted 2 is superior to MGS4 on graphics.

I don’t own a PS3, but from what I saw on youtube. It seems to be that way.

Hell yes, it is. MGS4 looks awful, imo. Of all the games that are accused of being "brown" these days, I’ve never heard the same being said about Guns of the Patriots, when it’s more appropriate than ever. Uncharted 2 has some amazing textures and environments, the only thing that bothers me about it a bit is the anti aliasing, which isn’t even all that bad. I can’t wait to see how Uncharted 3 is gonna look.
