I created four categories for easier searching of songs: Official Soundtrack; Game Audio; Special Collections and Drama.

This discography does not contain doujin albums.

Hi, Orie. Maybe you are the only person that have this album. I created this discography only to download official soundtracks, even Drama e Arranged songs. There are a lot Doujin"s albums, maybe you can created this especific albums. But, thanks for sharing Vampire Variations.

Thanks, Magma. About rips, I will upload only Vampire Kiss, from SNES, and Symphony of The Night realease tracks. I did some research on music and there are only these albums to complete all the songs from Castlevania.

Doujin/fan club will not be include because they are not official soundtracks ou are not included in the games.

DarkShing, I have participated in some forums, and what I see is speculation about the launch Panchislot III. But I have not seen any official confirmation from Konami. I’ll be looking to know about the release of this album, ok. And thanks for the appreciation.

For JSN111, tough call. Obviously you could try Castlevania Best Music Collections BOX (GFCA-195~213) and have a really nice compilation. But if it’s only a single disc you must choose, it depends if you appreciate oldschool 8-bit soundtracks. I would go for 1990 ~ Castlevania Best (KICA-1005). More into rock renditions? 1994 ~ Perfect Selection Dracula Battle (KICA-1145). Orchestal and upbeat combos? 1997 ~ Castlevania Symphony of the Night Original Soundtrack (KICA-7760) as he said. When you get the hang of it, try them all. It’s been a consistent series regarding their soundtracks.

It’s a shame that in all the compilations and original soundtrack, Aria of Sorrow sounds like crap. I don’t know what they did to the sound, but it was a lazy work. You better go with a sound rip of the game than the versions on the soundtrack.

I was just thinking the other day… Is there any version, even if fan made, of the Aria of Sorrow soundtrack that doesn’t sound like 32kbps GBA music? It’s such a great soundtrack. The clock tower and garden songs are fantastic!

Man, I’m sorry, too. All soundtracks from SNES versions are a rip files from SPC archives, like Keeperxiii say.

The ripper gave me 400 MIDIs (I’m betting it’s the soundtrack plus SFX or something, still have to check them) and a SF2 file that is a Soundfont. The Soundfont tells the player which instruments to use for each MIDI. It sounds better, yes, but I can’t say 100% sure it’s EXACTLY how it is supposed to sound. It sounds right to me, but maybe my ear is deceiving me, that’s why I want people to try out. Each track is just looped onece with a tiny bit of sound that bridges the music to make a loop, so creating a complete soundtrack will be easy with a sound editor. The output file can be WAV at 48 khz/32 bit, but that doesn’t mean it’s pefect, because the samples and such. I can upload the MIDIs and the SF2 file if someone wants to experiment with all these. My advice is to use XMPlay and the MIDI plugin since it can write the playback to WAV with less effort than a similar setting with Winamp.

P.S. Oh boy, this is heavy. So I’ve been fiddling with the SF2 files… SF2, as I mentioned, are Soundfonts, samples of instruments that are assigned to certain channels in the MIDI. Obviously, the samples in Aria are lo-res, so no matter how much you upsample the file, they won’t sound better, but you can get a better and direct sound than what could be obtained with the GBA. Now, if you use a different SF2 file, the MIDI doesn’t get assigned the right instruments, because obviously it was meant to be used with that particular SF2, not as a General MIDI file. BUT (here’s the kick) it is possible to edit the SF2 and replace the samples with samples from another Soundfont. There are a lot of High-Quality samples out there, and I’ve gotten a couple to try, but don’t count on me doing it soon. I’m willing to take the chance to edit the SF2, but still have to check how large is the instruments and such. Not an easy task, but in the meanwhile there’s still the test I uploaded, so that.

P.S. 2 My God, I’m doing this ass-backwards: Why would I edit a Soundfont (which, by the way, it’s more than 50-100 samples) instead of editing the MIDI file to assign the correct instruments? (Somebody kick me, please). If anyone can recommend a good MIDI editor, I’ll try to check what can be done.

Well… no luck. Apparently, the MIDIs change instruments on the fly (or the Soundfont knows what to load, beats me) so any "arrange" would take a lot of effort to pull off on Reason or any software. The good news is that it sounds better than most rips out there (and anything Konami has recorded, mind you) when using the Soundfont. So I uploaded the files if anyone wants to play with them:

One could argue that it doesn’t do anything the addition of passwords to the archives, or the download links themselves, given how some file-hosting services keep records of stuff like CRC, or again they decide to automatically delete your passworded-archive, because it is an overly-abused system for the sharing of packs containing illegal files. In the end, they can all be considered equally useless nuisances. It’s a fact that more and more file-hosting services are implementing these silly checks, especially since the fall of MEGAUPLOAD, and if the filename has blacklisted words like original/official/soundtrack…. it’s more likely to get deleted as soon as the upload finishes.

Protect your archives by masked names, passwords… It may help either way, or it may not.

lords of shadow should not be in this collection. It’s not a castlevania, it’s a Rapevania.

Yeah I found the newer music/composer like Lords of Shadow very boring compared to the past masterpieces that were done by Michiru Yamane.

Although the music for the 3 Lords of Shadow games wasn’t awful, I really hope they choose a Castlevania worthy composer next time.

I think people just didn’t listen well to the tracks (they’re pretty long) because I think the compositions are amazing. Specifically the music during the Inner Dracula fight.

oscar araujo sucks. Compositions are not that fitting for a castlevania.
I have been playing Lament of Innocence… My GOD, what a washing sight after playing and seeing how dull and boring game is lords of shadow. Me and many people I know, fans of castlevania, play once, and they don’t want to touch the game anymore…. because it is not worth it.
Oscar Araujo is not such a good composer as everyone is Painting him to be. Oscar araujo laziness in compositions is very well shown in the 3 games.
Michiru Yamane will never do castlevania anymore since she is out of Konami. They could have hired Yuzo Koshiro, which worked in other castlevania titles. He is the only one not tied by contracts to Konami, as practically all konami music composers got themselves out of the company. Akira Yamaoka is only back to make the soundtrack of the new silent hill just because Guillermo del Toro is his friend, and he accepted, but if it was Konami asking, Akira would tell them to suck it up, since he got sick of working for konami on their ridiculous timelines.

So, unless Konami get’s composers not tied to themselves by contract, like Yuzo Koshiro, then we will have no good soundtrack ever at all.

Well at the end its just your opinion. I dont know how you can say hes lazy with his composition. Im personally enjoying the complete rip version. And since Ive played the 30 or so hours of the first game, couldnt be that boring right? Even if deemed as a DmC/GoW rip off.

I also don’t understand the hate for Lords of Shadow franchise, I really enjoyed the first as a game and the soundtrack was absolutely amazing – the game was visually very beautiful as well. The games have very different music when comparing to the old tunes, but Castlevania as a franchise has really needed to sail unto new waters and try out new things. After Symphony of the Night there hasn’t been a single good Castlevania game for consoles, the only good games (from time to time good games…) have been on handheld machines and they follow the same pattern every time. It’s Symphony of the Night again, again and again over and over again, why couldn’t they try something new – are they too afraid to try new stuff because some old people might be afraid of new winds and changes? I am deeply disappointed that after all these years there hasn’t been a Castlevania game more in memory of Super Castlevania IV or Castlevania III Dracula’s Curse. It’s nice that they tried to do something completely different with Judgment, but I believe that was something that was doomed from the beginning.

The Lords of Shadow franchise tried to take the 3d castlevania franchise further with completely new style, sound and feel to it. The first Lords of Shadow game was a really big hit and great success in my book, the game was so beautiful and the fantasy scenes and themes of the game were something that brought Super Castlevania IV to my memories, I was very glad to be out of the "one big castle" and experience the wilderness and forests. Casting of voice actors was good (Patrick Stewart as the narrator was amazing!) and the battles were smooth and fun. Bad sides of the first game would be the fucking little piece of shit who always took your stuff, you had no choice over how the story unfolds (but then again, games these days rarely let you choose anything at all and the games that do have three options – bad (kill the puppies!), neutral (pet the puppies) and good (take the puppies with you and love them until they die of old age)) and the quick time events were tedious and they broke the immersion of the game pretty efficiently. Audio visually the game was a great success, the castle and scenes all over looked amazing and the score made by Oscar Araujo was very beautiful as it woke great feelings when paired with the scenery. They had to turn a new page in history of Castlevania and the first game was just amazing, I am ever grateful for them to try and revitalize the otherwise dying Castlevania brand.

Too bad that the second game (Lords of Shadow 2, I don’t want to talk about Mirror of Fate – EVER) was nothing like the first game. The first game had set my expectations so very high, they came crushing down when I got to play Lords of Shadow 2 for the first time. All the amazing visuals were now gone, replaced with never ending darkness and boring sights of grey blocks side by side. The game didn’t offer any change at all either, it was just city – castle – city and ONCE in the game you got to see a forest – in the castle! – and that was over in 10 minutes or less. The game revolved around the battle system, it was improved from the first game but the fights weren’t the most important thing to me, they were just something that had to be done in order to progress the story, to see where you would get next, what would you get to see? Another titan? Amazing waterfalls of Agharta? Nope – more of the same old boring city with some god damn soldiers wearing jetpacks. The soundtrack in this game has some good moments, but even the soundtrack is oriented more towards the battles that weren’t so important in the first place. All the beautiful, calm and majestic sounds had now been exchanged with progressive music to raise your fighting spirit. I’m afraid that the only good parts of this game were the story (from time to time), music (from time to time…) and Patrick Stewart.

I wish new Castlevania games took bigger risks, tried something new and gave a new chance to the up and coming artists. Symphony of the Night is an amazing game, but these days I am afraid that the game might these days be making more harm than good since because it’s the golden standard that all the Castlevania games have to aim for. They have to be just like Symphony of the Night, do the same things but bigger and better. But do you know what? Symphony of the Night was first of it’s line. It featured Ayami Kojima’s art, Michiru Yamane’s music and instead of making a new Super Castlevania IV, they made a Castlevania game in style of Metroid games and it was a huge success. Too bad that Symphony of the Night was so big success that they haven’t been able to progress the games in any way, even though small improvements have been made in Aria of Sorrow and friends.

Hopefully one day Castlevania series will have another golden age before the series becomes forgotten in the history. In order to do so, they have to change.

Isn’t there like 1 song that appears in LoS 1? Bloody Tears I think. Anyway Oscar’s music feels like it belongs in a hollywood movie. I like how AVGN (Angry Video Game Nerd) claims that CV64 has no music lol. Anyway thanks for the links especially Portrait of Ruin. I hate the "Enchanced Version" of the soundtrack in the collection.

Not everyone trusts torrent, and some of gamemp3s’ releases are hardly seeded, nowadays.

Folks, can you at least extract some of the CDs out of the parts you’ve downloaded? The filesize for the whole box clocks around 2 GB and it’s encoded in mp3 V0 VBR. I might help by supplying a few CDs, but I don’t have time to reupload the whole thing.

Yes, it is possible to extract some of the CDs/tracks. But the first CD is definetly missing and I’m not sure whether the ones which you can extract are complete or not. I’m just downloading the entire album again via BitTorrent. The download rate is quite okay (~700 kbps).

Thanks, I’ll try to upload the whole thing for others when I can, my main concern is MEGA acting up.

I should have already got the box album on that torrent, but it’s too huge for me to download at the present time.
It was already an ass to trying to get ost 3 of PSO2, because I had to ask a friend to download those 2gb rar for me and upload the individual discs instead, because I was epic ignored in the thread of it when I asked about it. Not everyone has a great super bigger HDD and super fast connection to download a 2gb rar.
Gamemp3s torrents are always seeding. A lot of people complain right away like if the world will end that it does not work. All older archive torrents still are working fine. Yes, you need to wait some time, more than usual, but the download will be complete for sure. It might take 10 days to download an album of 100MB? Yes, sometimes, but it’s not needed do despair like your life depends on it right now. As almost all users I offer a torrent as help, do and say that. Not mention the very bad skills in something called "research". There are more places in the web nowadays that you can get what you want about game soundtracks.
Speaking of which.. I dont’ even know if Castlevania Dungeon has this box there. I have not been there for so many years, I don’t even know if that is the right name. :/

I don’t know this composer (Araujo), neither I ‘ve hear CASTLEVANIA. LORDS OF SHADOW 2. I’ve read the last posts of Orie, uut, iwannabelikemike, etc… and I’ve told myself: I’m not a fan of PC Game Soundtracks and I suppose with those comments the music will be actually pretty boring. Then, just out of curiosity, I’ve read reviews in webs and the opinions are pretty varied.

Perhaps the music doesn’t fit well with the game but I think I’ll give a listening.

I don’t trust reviews, ever. Most of those reviews are made to promote instead of actual "truth be told". People are paid most of times to talk good about something. We don’t live in a fair world.

Lords of Shadow 1, is boring…. I mean really boring. There is nothing memorable that get’s stuck in your mind easily. The game was also awful. I’m sorry but I can’t believe castlevania "fans" defend such a depressing game, because that is what it is, depressing all the way.
Mirror fate, is where Oscar Araujo stars with laziness. A lot of cues were re-used, but the problem in that is, they were re-used to my themed of something else, when those songs were already a Theme (of something) in the previous game, BUT (not my ass), Mirror of fate actually has the best music. There are a lot of tunes and cues that did stuck in my mind. Lords of Shadow2…. again Re-using pretty much everything from the 2 last games.
For example, the Boss Music of the Lady of the Crypt (I am such a sucker for that song) is in Lords of Shadow 2 titled as "Hunter and Prey". And it’s much more based in electronic sound. It does not that is bad, but the thing is…. Why? I like electronic but I kinda feel it incredibly OF regarding the last soundtracks.
But Mirror of fate does have a problem. At some point you will feel that the music is all the same, and that is due to SAME SYSTEMATIC rhythm Oscar Araujo used in Strings and Drums in ALL Boss fighting music for example, but it was also used in other tracks. The horns, also feel very damn repetitive. Not in one song, but , you pick random 5 tracks, and the ones with horns, you will notice that they are in same uni-tone.
I like Mirror of Fate soundtrack a lot, I do, but that does not mean I have to talk good about it when it does have issues. I have to admit that there are some songs, that "the guy must have smoked weird weed to make this so out of the blue and original’n’interesting"

I actually think one of the only good songs in lords of shadow if not the only one is Waterfalls of Agharta, it gives me a
nice calm feeling but you know what it doesn’t do? Give off that Castlevania vibe. None of the songs do.
That is the problem with the lords of shadow series, it’s all just a copy-off of God of War and The Force Unleashed.
Thank god there will be no more lords of shadow games, they’re giving the whole Castlevania series a bad name.

You know why you like "Waterfalls of Agharta"? it’s because its the ONLY arrange of a castlevania song. The waterfalls of Super Castlevania 4.
