– Foreword –
Finally…
As the name implies, it’s a contribution to the Atelier Series, a collection gathered from diffrent and various sources around the net.
(Even some booklet scans were found separately and included in the corresponding soundtracks.)
Its main goal:
To raise the knowledge and availability of Atelier Music (for self-enjoyment), that will never (likely) see a natural release outside Japan/Asian Countries.
* Sadly, I was not be able to locate everything in lossless, that’s why, some contents are in MP3.
(It is however mentioned under the Soundtrack name, in which format it was encoded and
for extra visibility they include an additional ‘_3’ in their (archive) filenames.)
Maybe in the future, there is a truly lossless thread dedicated to Atelier Music, but future will tell.
Also it’s NOT A COMPLETE LIST of all soundtracks. In the third section, you can find a list, to see what is still missing.
You can activley help and contribute missing or inferior soundtracks in a LOSSLESS format (preferred) or in MP3.

I actually planned to create these posts visually more appealing and structured, but gave up on this idea
in order to share this with everyone (before it lies somewhere in a corner for much longer, gathering dust)…
I also canceled the necessity of personal remarks for all the diffrent Soundtracks. Too much text already.
(Maybe, some day, there will be an update, making this post more compact and deleting unnecessary text.)

– ARRANGEMENT OF THE CONTENT –
Name/Sign of the Game
(Main) Original Soundtrack of the Game
(Sub) Additional Soundtracks of the Game (if available)
(Extra) Drama CDs of the Game (if available)
The title of the album is followed by the catalog number.
After that, the format (FLAC or MP3) is mentioned (beneath
the name) and if LOG/CUE File(s) and/or Scans are included.
The FLAC file itself is usually an Image rip, meaning
the whole CD is stored in one file. For help regarding
Image files, view the FAQ at the bottom of the post.
The booklet (if available) is usually in the folder "Scans"
alongside with other scans (like CD, outlet, and so on).
If it is highlighted, you will be able to extra download the
Scans (they are included in the main upload though).
EXTRAS:
(This includes official content, that is usually available
through official Gust Sites (wallpapers/sketches), and
scanned Artbooks [Common Language: Japanese].)
Enquette Bonus Content (if available)
Bonus content that can be unlocked at the official
Gust Shop website. Includes mostly bonus MP3 songs,
Wallpapers, Interviews, Sheet Music, and so on…
(In short: Small goodies, for diligent "salburgers".)

This content was picked mostly for archival purpose,
but that doesn’t mean, it should keep you from filling
out their surveys. You can have a impact of the future
of Atelier Games too. ~_^

Note: Not every game has every content section covered.
Reasons: Never released, not found, disappeared, etc.
Official free content, like Wallpapers, Portraits, etc. are
from official websites, and follow an "archival purpose"
or for gathering them in a bunch.
~MISC STUFF~
Almost every album is an "Image" file, and in my opinion it’s the most customize
able format. First you can easily change the FLAC file to your favorite lossless
file, with only one file to re-encode in the most cases.
If there was a .txt file present in the original upload, I didn’t include it in here
(same goes for html pages and/or ‘out of context’ images).
I took the time to write detailed cue sheets (only for the romanised ones) with notepad,
so if you should find a (bigger) mistake, let me know. You can easily change it yourself,
or to your preferences.
Main references for the english names of the tracks were mainly:
vgmdb, rpgfan, chudah’s corner (rest in peace) and my humble self
I also renamed japanese character -file names- to latin ones. It often does not resemble
the log file names, but it is 100% the one, that was included.
In the log you usually see the previously uploader (if mentioned in the drive name), or what
format the disc was extracted beforehand.
Again, although I changed file names, cue files and log file names (if in Kanji) to resemble
only romanised characters, I left the LOG itself 100% untouched.
Additional, most of the OSTs have their original kanji cue file included.
I didn’t test every single album about their lossless authenticity, but in contrary I’m certain,
there shouldn’t be any lossy files among them. If you find some, be sure to let me know.
I will wait, till some time has elapsed before putting up the newest soundtracks of the series,
and if you like what you hear, you are encouraged to buy the stuff (if it isn’t out of print yet).
Cause we all know, that keeping an physical copy in our collection, satisfies our
primitive "hunters and gatherers" heart much more, than digital/"fake" copies. ^_~
And if you didn’t played a game of the Atelier Series, be sure to check some out. 😉

– A SHORT INTRODUCTION TO THE ATELIER SERIES –
For the start, I have to admit that I never played any
other GUST game, apart from Atelier Iris 1+2+3, Atelier Annie
(poor attempts of the JP Marie+Elie PS games not counted),
Atelier Rorona and Atelier Totori.
Reason? Well, mostly blame the few localisation I guess. 😉
That being said, "out there" might be more enlightened Atelier
Scholars, than my humble presence. Trust them.
For those, that never had contact with "it", and are curious what
I’m even talking about. It’s a game series by GUST (you may
know them as Producer of the "Ar Tonelico" Rpg series)
aimed primarily for console gaming like Playstation 1/2/3 and
Handhelds. It’s your average Japano cuddle friendly, colourful,
cheerful, harmless roleplaying experience, with a main focus
on character progression and their minimalistic stories.
If you’re allergic against cuteness and everything involved in
"seeing things through rose-coloured glasses", you may
start your next blood spitting/spilling ego-shooter round,
and skip this thread entirely. 😉
(Since it pretty much transfer all those characteristics
into the game music, for the most parts.)
Also, I always had the feeling, this series had a greater
impact with/on female players (like Rhapsody (http://anonym.to/?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhapsody:_A_Musical_Adventure)).
Well the themes might justice my assumption.
All right, enough babbling…
Only 9 Games out of 20~ Atelier titles were released outside Japan.
2 of them being an "Atelier school" offset (Mana-Khemia), and
3 of them a more classical adventure, J-RPG type (Atelier Iris).
3 of them, quite new, follow more closely what the first concept
of Atelier games was all about, first time in 3D (Arland series).
The newest installment is Atelier Totori for PS3 (test it out!).
Right, Atelier Annie was the first "typical" Atelier Game, people
outside Japan could get a hold off. It featured the basic system
similar to their first games of the franchise, like "Atelier Marie".
But being a NDS game, it had a very strong childish factor to it,
althought the system itself didn’t changed too much.
The most basic attribute of the series is called "Alchemy".
Gathering ingredients, mixing them together and thus creating
Items for personal use, selling, filling requests, and so on.
The second most important trademark is clearly their main
heroines, and the many charming characters, populating the
(japanese comprehension of) german fantasy influenced world.
Everything else, as the series evolves, was affected and added
by current development circumstances in the "Adventure/Rpg"
console industry, but nonetheless added and realised their own
ideas within the familiar concept…
As a matter of fact, the Atelier series plays mostly in a
medieval-fantasy setting, involving classic J-RPG elements
such as Town(s), Dungeons/Fields + Monster apperances,
NPC, Shops, Weapons, Items etc.
From its style (earlier work), you could say it fits in the
"period" of Record of Lodoss War and Slayers.
The greatest diffrence (expect Atelier Iris) may be, that
you don’t wander too far off, but in contrary stay in the
same town, opening an Alchemy Shop and "live" there.
So it has ‘daily life’ elements, simulation carried,
focusing on the interactions between the characters
and doesn’t follow sophisticated story lines too much,
while keeping yourself busy with alchemy.
The more earlier works had an isometric 3rd person view,
and like the NDS games, a really simple battle system.
The relations and interactions between the characters
was mainly through Portrait+Background Images+Text
as we might know from many visual novel games, but
also old Rpg games and even more modern ones.
The initial series had it’s peak in Atelier Viorate.
After that, GUST seemed to follow a diffrent path, starting
with Atelier Iris, and for the first time, releasing their games
in US and Europe.
That may be the reason why most people associate the
series with typical Rpg-Game elements.
Mana-Khemia introduced the series to the (never growing
old…) school environment. Since I never played that one,
I can’t tell too much about it, so just check common
information sites on this matter.
Atelier Rorona was GUST attempt, to go back to it’s root, and
that for the first time in a complete three dimensional fashion.
Also the Artwork for the game was drawn by a new artist, who
gives the game a more mature "visual novel" feel and look
(in comparsion to the NDS games, where the target audience
are clearly younger girls). Well, Style is a matter of taste, time,
and influence, but be sure to check both games out. 😉
Atelier Totori itself follows very closely the concept of "Rorona",
as much as Atelier Meruru does, just in a diffrent location.
Atelier Meruru is being prepared for the US and the EU,
which closes the Arland trilogy. Be sure to check it out!
(The release date is stated for May, the 22th/24th).

If the files are often corrupted, it helps, if you download them one by one (at least in my experience)
to prevent damaged archives. Or just re-download the specific parts with the error message.
Alternately you can repair them, with Winrar for example. (I added rr10% in any archive.)
(For better speed, you may want to try a download accelerator, like dTa, if using ff.)

The link anonymizer service "anonym.to" is used here, which conceals the origin of the site (in this example, ffshrine), when you press on a download link (url).
Some file hosts or general internet services collect the data, from which site you are coming from, and so on. This is just a way to prevent that, nothing special,
but it is causing problems with -mf- lately, since it seems to go againts their policies.
Please use this workaround, if you have troubles getting through:

What is FLAC?
FLAC is a lossless audio format, meaning it stores the Wave file (present as PCM on physical discs) like a container,
compresses the overall file size, but still don’t degenerate the file itself. The music files stay untouched.
MP3 in contrary manipulates the file itself, a loss of data and is therefore a lossy encoding.
For more information about FLAC, visit their official website.
How do I play it on my computer?
You can play FLAC with players like Foobar, Winamp FLAC Plugin and Media Players with FLAC support.
There are of course more options, just look around. But as mentioned above, FLAC stores the original
Wave file, so you are able to encode it to any prefered format you like. You will need FLAC (http://anonym.to/?http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html) though,
or you can use your favorite encoding/decoding program.
How do I split Image Rips, so I can enjoy the music in single Audio Tracks (as it was intended)?
You can play it by using the CUE file in players like Foobar, or split the Image File (using the CUE),
in programs like CUETools. Even Foobar (http://anonym.to/?http://www.foobar2000.org/) supports a split, but it was never really designed for that usage.
But don’t forget, you need a working CUE file, containing the lengths and pregaps of the tracks, to
create the 1:1 copy of the tracks.
So HOW do I split Image files now?
General process:
When installing the programs, be sure to check the necessary components and converting tools.
Simply spoken, a split is nothing else than taking the whole Image (wave) file and encode it anew.
The .cue file provides the track times & pregaps (and all other informations) to split the single tracks
at the right parts. (Lastly you should be aware to choose the right CUE with tags and everything.)
That’s it.
Foobar2000 (http://anonym.to/?http://www.foobar2000.org/download):
1. Drag the .CUE file into a foobar playlist
2. Highlight all tracks (you want to convert to single tracks), press right mouse button and choose "Convert" -> "…"
3. In the "Convert Setup" window, "Output Format" tab, you choose FLAC
3.5 Optional: You can press "…", and choose Level 8 as maximum compression
3.75 Optional: Choose "Output path" to a specific folder (or the source file folder)
4. In the "Output files" tab you choose "Convert each track to an individual file"
4.5 Optional: Set the "Name format" to your liking (example: %tracknumber% – %title% )
5. Activate other options (like ReplayGain) only when you know, what you’re actually doing
6. Press okay! If everything went fine, the files are now converting
6.5 When done, check the new files. Metadata (tags) are preserved and the same, as stated in the CUE file
7. Optional: If you are unhappy with the outcome, open the CUE file in notepad, and change (replaceable) informations
(like Interpret or Album/Song title) and repeat step 1~6.
And it’s done! =)
(Hint: Opening "File" -> "Preferences" -> "Tools" -> "Converter" you can preset diffrent encoding settings to your liking.)

(For CUEtools you should check through the "Settings", before going all out – like "Gap Handling".)

3.5 The "Action" pull down menu (default, fix offset,…) can be used in conjunction with the "Extra" fields;
"default" ignores the "Extra" options (Pregap, Data Track and Offset) – only use them, if needed
4. For "Mode", choose "Tracks"
4.5 Optional: If you know this album exists in the "AccurateRip" database, you may check this box
(or the others), otherwise you should keep them unchecked
5. For "Audio Formats", choose "Lossless", scroll to "flac" and choose encoder (standard is "libFLAC")
5.5 Set the compression level beween 5~8
6. Press "Go"! If everything went fine, the files are now converting
6.5 When done, check the new files. Metadata (tags) are preserved and the same, as stated in the CUE file
And it’s done! =)
(Hint: If you want to disable the "AccurateRipID" remark, go to "Settings" -> "AccurateRip" and disable "Write AccurateRip tags".)
Notice: If you have problems to get a (new) CUE file working, check the original one and change "Gap Handling" accordingly to it.
Also please notice: I won’t answer questions about the listed programs. If you have problems with them, visit their help sites.
What FLAC Version did you use to transcode them to lossless?
I used the common version (v1.2.1), available at the official site, so nothing new and fancy I fear.
You shouldn’t have problems to play them on any device, which are FLAC capable.

True, Atelier Iris had those "Soundtrack Books", but as example for Atelier Iris 2, they were a "mere" Bonus, as the JP Soundtrack Book (tracklist) is the same as the US and EU one. And being only an excerpt of the whole OST, I didn’t give it a high priority.
The same goes for Atelier Rorona US release and it’s preorder Bonus Soundtrack.
None the less I was looking for them, with modest success.

Unlike Atelier Rorona – Visual Art Book (which is widley available through diffrent sites), the Atelier Totori one seems to be a well hidden treasure. Since it was a bundle give away, only accessible through their JP site (as far as I know), we are at the mercy of those few selected souls.
(Most likely, they hoard it with other Atelier goodies, still sealed, and sleep on that small pile of precious, sparkling things.)

According to rpgfan (http://anonym.to/?http://www.rpgfan.com/soundtracks/atelieriris-book/), from the first Soundtrack Book, the first 10 Tracks are somewhat a Best Of (Atelier Iris 1), and the other Tracks are from older games, which some of them newly/slightly arranged. So it does contain new material, and I confused it with this (http://vgmdb.net/album/2698) (US release, what is actual an excerpt of the OST).
The same goes for the second Soundtrack Book (with Best Of and Extra Arrangement Tracks).

Funny story and something to learn: If you have folders, actually open them first before speculating. After looking INTO my folders I actually made a note there that the first tracks are contained in their respective OSTs.
So these Iris books have absolutely no new Iris material in them ^_^
but remixes of older stuff.

It’s not my intention to rival anything, but I fear these are not in my possession and (some) are even more rare than (some) Japanese ones, since they were usually only included as preorder bonus or in limited editions. I will keep an eye out for them though.

Thanks to El Bastardo we cleared up the confusion around the "Atelier Iris ETERNAL MANA Soundtrack Book 1" + "…2" and know now that the first few tracks are "Best of" songs from the OSTs and the rest arrangements from older Atelier titles. ("Atelier Iris ETERNAL MANA 2 Soundtrack Book" contains only arrangements of the first ETERNAL MANA.)
He provided these arrangements, and I took the Atelier Iris (Best Of) Tracks from their OSTs ("1" = 01~10, "2" = 1~13), re-tagged and joined them together.
So it’s not a 1:1 copy of the CD, but since there is no cue or log, it doesn’t really effect the outcome anyway. Just so you know. (And they do not contain the Artbook itself.)
Alternately if you don’t need the "Best of" Tracks, you can use El Bastardo upload links – they only contain the new material. "1" = 11~22, "2" = 14~22)

From Atelier Lise (Wallpaper) Cannot be downloaded :(It works again (at least for me). Sometimes the host (mf) seems to maintain or disable servers temporary. I will write a note in the main post. I didn’t even knew you could play flac in VLC, it was my first time using it for that matter (and maybe my last time).
The time error really persists, and is caused by an unknown matter (I compared diffrent CUEs, and couldn’t find the cause). I guess it’s an internal failure caused by VLC (but don’t take my hand for it).
All I can do is offer you the advise to check diffrent media player, especially suited for lossless playback, like foobar2k, mediamonkey,… you name it. It works without problems with these.
And yes, Winamp doesn’t support CUE files, but you can split it up, and with the flac-plugin you can play them too, but a bit of work is involved before that.
Just run the .cue in your media player and it should pick up on all the seperate tracks. If you don’t like it, use Medieval’s cue splitter to split the tracks. Medieval CUE Splitter (PC) (http://www.medieval.it/cuesplitter-pc/menu-id-71.html)Thanks for your suggestion. For beginners, Medieval CUE Splitter is really handy, but in my own experience, it can cause more problems, as it actually helps (especially if you want to get a clean job done).
I will write a short guide soon for foobar and for (the more advanced and a bit more complex) CUEtools, how to properly split an Image File (one big file) into single tracks (CD Tracks).
You may want to know, that splitting (break the single file into many files) involves re-encoding of the whole file, so the wave file is being taken, and with the informations of the CUE you gain the single tracks + the pregaps (pause/silence) again in the format you chose.
All right, enough of that, just so people get a general idea how it works. The guide will take this, step by step, but I will try to make it as short as possible.

because itunes doesn’t play .flac so thats why im using VLC… and doesnt really have a good bookmark and it has no autosave. 🙁

If you know some programs can you share ? tyyy!Well, I don’t really want to highlight a specific player – it’s actually just a pure choice of preference. But in my case I got foobar2000 and didn’t have the urge to look for an alternative since then.
You may want to know that some players are playlist based (like winamp, foobar, VLC) and others based on the order by Interpret or other categories (like itunes, mediamonkey, etc).
If you give foobar a try, you should take some time to customize the player to your (GUI and optical) needs, after that you are good to organise your lossless collection in peace. ^^
(But I must admit, I’m not sure if mediamonkey plays CUE files – probably not, I suppose…)

I never ran into troubles to access any of the files, but it seems some users can’t access them, at random times.
All I can say is:
Please try it to a later date, the links are working. The diffrent servers of the host could be temporarily disabled or maintained, making single parts unaccessible to download (for the given time).
If that’s not the case, the problem lies at your end.
Of course files could go down, but I check them all regularly, so you shouldn’t worry about it (for now). (I will update the FAQ to reflect that.)

That would be most welcomed. I only got my hands on a fan customised version (tracks taken from the JP OST, and arranged like the US one, as it seems).
I planed to upload that one, just for completeness sake, but a proper rip of it (for collectors) would be bliss, of course.
(As for format… all albums here are FLAC and mostly range rips, but single tracks are getting more latley. So that would be up to you, but in FLAC please.) ^^

In your case, I would recommend you to work from Meruru downwards; Atelier Totori to Atelier Rorona (OST & VAB) – but beware, some are just diffrent releases of the same soundtrack – and then (maybe) jump directly to the Atelier Iris ones (you should check some samples for Mana-Khemia, if you like that style), and from that point give "Atelier Best" a try. If you like the older songs, you can browse through them.
Special arrangement albums are noteworthy too (if you like rock, Atelier Iris 1/2 arrangement and Volkslied 3 has some fine tunes), and if you prefer vocal songs, there are special albums just for that (and don’t forget the portable versions, like Atelier Annie)… @_@ Too much!
Just don’t overdo it, and take your time. And if you can’t get used to a specific style, accept it – move on, and seek something more appropriate for your taste. 😉
(Btw, if you like the overall style, "Nora to Toki no Koubou Kiri no Mori no Majo" (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f72/nora-toki-no-koubou-kiri-no-mori-105347/#post1881674) may also interest you, a cooperation from the Atelier Team and another big company, although the composer is (refreshingly) not from their team.)
And very lastly, you may check some "Ar Tonelico" soundtracks (your mentioned composer was part of Ar tonelico III).
Yeah, the Atelier (sound) world is quite vast already, and it doesn’t seems to stop there, since the (busy busy) creators already announced another Atelier game, "Atelier Ayesha (http://anonym.to/?http://vgmdb.net/product/1090)" (the official site is up already), which seems to have a more mystical theme, what I personally welcome. Let’s hope we will see it outside its origin country some day. (And damn, when will the time finally arrive, when games do look like their concept art? Give me a cryonic chamber till then.)
[The release of the soundtrack is stated for June, the 27th, the same date as the second Jazz arrange album.]
EDIT: My recommendation would be Totori. Yanagawa was involved in three "big" projects: Ar tonelico III, Atelier Totori and Atelier Meruru. I can’t stand what he did on AT3, but for Totori he really did some great tunes.

(By the way, the tracklist of Atelier Elkrone was assembled by running the text through a translator, and editing it a bit myself, so you shouldn’t trust it too much.)

The quality itself is quite… meagre, but as every Musikkiste really worth a try (you just have to love those daily routines concepts).
A real shame there is no lossless version of it, but I guess that’s the attractiveness of exclusivity.

Song names and series were translated by vgmdb and own research (of previous tracks that got arranged).
I translated "Hanashirube" (official title) as "Flower Guide", since shirube as 標 (しるべ/shirube) stands for guide (or something similar)
and not for "Sign" as in 印 (しるし/shirushi). But I’m not 100% sure myself what "hana shirube" wants to imply in the end.

I really like Vol. 2, better than the first volume, although it goes almost the same direction, but it is still a bit more varied
and has some very beautiful themes (my favourite being Track 6). The album really soothes oneself, hoho.

Actually I think they were a pre-order bonus to both standard and LE versions of the games (the asia versions also got them IIRC).
There’s also CDs for the male characters,but I’m not sure if they only differ in the voice actor + art or also in the content since I only heard the one of Willbell.
I might go on a search for them if they’re really needed in this collection for now.
For now I found another World Guide CD (idk if it’s the same content-wise though), and Booklet Scans of Twilight Hour ,however I’m unable to download them right now =/

And some personal ramblings:I personally am quite happy with either version, as long no transcode impurified the original source; the reason why I started the lossless collection thread, and why I prefer lossless encodes in general.
I learned, if you (try to) preserve quality or "the source", even if the momentary you, technology or media doesn’t really allows to tap its full potential, later times might do, as you and everyone around you grows and expands. It’s not really a "suitable for everyday use" thing, but the things you hold dear, should be worth the extra stretch.
Only the link for Atelier Ayesha ~Alchemist of the Ground of Dusk~ Original Soundtrack it seems to be broken.

That being said…just an itty-bitty problem… I only finished downloading Atelier Meruru and I’m not sure how to open the flac file. I do have a flac-to-mp3 converter but what I don’t know how to do is how to "break up" the big flac file into smaller, individual track files.
Any help on this is appreciated o3o

The easiest way to convert the .FLAC into .MP3 is to use a program called PowerISO to open the image files, and use it to convert the large .FLAC into individual .MP3 files.

Even better, if you have the CUE file, a program called Medieval CUE Splitter (http://www.medieval.it/cuesplitter-pc/menu-id-71.html) works amazingly well and it’s completely free.

Foobar2000. ‘s what I use and doesn’t require fussing around with ISOs. Also works for CUEs.

Sadly there haven’t been any scans of the albums that came after Meruru,I guess it’s mostly because the booklets now have a different spine, and they seem to be hardcovers so I suppose most people aren’t fond of ruining it?
I did find a few bits of scans for Ayesha but no luck for any of the others.
But I’ll keep searching and let everyone know once I got any missing scans.

Hrmm…I typically enjoy the mainline Atelier series, but I dunno, something about Escha comes across as disappointingly…sparse? Even compared to Ayesha. Got really hyped after hearing Kikuta would be involved, too.

Perhaps I’m the minority here but..I just hope they’ll leave Nakagawa’s work as it is…or at least let him do the remastering/arranging. It’s still a shame he hasn’t been part in anything since Totori ;u;

I’m happy with MP3’s since I’m going to be listening and transferring them. The only issue is I get a 404 when I click on the files, I’ve clicked directly and opened new tab. I’m really really having bad luck with the vocal track.

Honestly, you’ve got a lot of options nowadays.
Anyone ever heard about these albums: Cielgris Fantasm OST (http://vgmdb.net/album/3373) and Taishou Mononoke Ibunroku OST (http://vgmdb.net/album/10428).
Both games also developed by GUST (yea’ boys and girls! GUST developes not only ‘Atelier’ and ‘Tonelico’ titles!). Both OSTs composed by Daisuke Achiwa. And both OSTs – complete must heard for any Atelier fan!
And looks like noone knows about them.
