There were peices of music in the movie not on the soundtrack release such as Kong chases Jack and the pit sequence. Were these ever released in any form?My band director wants to do Kong chases Jack but he doesn’t want to spend 80 dollars on the Hal Leonard score.

Yea, kong was released as a single disc album, with huge sections missing. I have not seen an expanded or complete version of it, I am not too sure I have even seen a dvd rip? The OST skips from cental park, to the Empire State Building cues. I think the Original Kong score can be had around. I don’t have it, but I think I once did, and I think some around here may, but it won’t have the music you describe, as it is vastly different (better?) than the most modern score.

I love the old one but I prefer the 2005

Yes and no. It can be ripped, but there is usually some residual voice echo, and fx. Due to the way the sound is mixed, I gather. There are members here who specialize in that, and some of them are very, very good at it, but in even the best of them, there are still some slight fx. Sometimes a dvd or blueray will have an isolated score, but most do not.
