Regardless of the bitrate used, the music was originally recorded in Mono, however if you are interested not only on Seven Samurai but also on other music by Fumio Hayasaka , i recommend this excelent recording, with the courtesy by Lens of Truth, that includes a suite for Seven Samurai: http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/big-orchestral-action-music-thread-57893/226.html#post1497390

The Seven Samurai has been my favorite film since I was a little kid, and so I have years of memories and connections built into this wonderful score. Thank you so, so very much for sharing it with all of us.

I think i’ve not seen a Kurosawa movie since last year on the anniversary of the 100th birthday celebration. Guess it’s time to watch again. Maybe i’ll start precisely with Seven Samurai 🙂
