Not the best album in the world… some crummy arrangements, a sub-par conductor, and a rather under-rehearsed LSO… but still very much worth a listen. Ground-breaking in its day, for quite some time it was the only way you could hear certain pieces, but it’s got somewhat redundant in recent years what with holy grails being released left, right, and centre…
Nonetheless, a great album taken on its own merits and a must for any casual sci-fi music fan.
