help with limit break glitch?

i’ve already had omnislash for cloud but the others can’t learn it.

Tifa can learn omnislash. Try it with her.

She slaps her bags on the enemies for a whopping 120,000 damage.

WTF? Are you serious? Judging from the actual question itself, I’d say you know nothing about FF period. So instead of making fun of you…

Omnislash is for Cloud Strife only. The others have their own individual limit breaks. It is NOT a glitch.

i mean like the others can’t learn their own final limit breaks. cloud has already learned his omnislash. i can’t get the others to learn theirs.

Do you have the items to learn the other limit breaks?

Barret:
The Catastrophe manual can be obtained only after an accomplished North Corel Huge Materia sidequest by talking to a woman in a hut in North Corel. If the player fails to stop the train, it cannot be obtained. This is the only manual that can be missed.

Tifa:
Tifa’s Final Heaven manual is discovered only after Cloud returns to the party on disc 2. The player must enter Tifa’s House in Nibelheim, and play the piano. The player must insert the following buttons:

X, Square, Triangle L1 and Triangle, L1 and Square, X Square, Triangle, L1 and X, Circle, X, Square and X

After doing this, a letter from Zangan is discovered, containing the Final Heaven manual.

Note: If the player plays the piano on disc 1 they will only get a gil. If they play it as Tifa as the party leader, an Elemental Materia is uncovered.

Aeris:
The earliest manual the player can obtain is Aeris’s, which requires the Buggy and the cargo ship at Costa del Sol to traverse back to Junon to get to the man in the cave north past the shallows. Here the player can obtain the Mythril from the sleeping man if the number of battles the player has fought ends in 11, 33, 55, 77, or 99. The Mythril can then be taken to the man in the cabin between the Gold Saucer and Gongaga Village and opening the compartment on the upper floor of the house to get the Great Gospel item.

Red XIII:
The Cosmo Memory manual is obtained from defeating the optional boss, Lost Number, in Shinra Mansion’s safe.

Yuffie:
Yuffie’s All Creation Limit Break can be obtained after defeating Godo, the final boss of the optional Pagoda sidequest in Wutai.

Vincent:
The player must enter the waterfall cave near Nibelheim with Vincent in the party and witness the scene, then leave the cave and fight ten random battles and return to find the Chaos manual. To get to the cave, the player can either use the submarine, or get there faster through use of either the Green or Blue Chocobo obtained through Chocobo breeding.

Cid:
Cid’s Highwind manual is found inside the optional dungeon Sunken Gelnika, only discoverable with the submarine. The chest containing the manual is on the left of the hall after entering, pass the room where the optional bosses Reno and Rude are fought.

Once you have the Manuals, as well as have learnt all 6 previous limit breaks (2 in level 1, 2 in level 2 and 3 in level 3), click on the manual and it ‘should’ unlock the ultimate limit break for the character the manual corresponds to.

yeah i’ve got all the manuals and barret already has ungermax and i’ve tried giving it to him, did cloud mess it up or something?

No, as long as the character in question has all 6 earlier limit breaks, then they can learn their level 4 Limit Break with the manual.

Rev, I think he’s referring to a bug in the US version where sometimes, very rarely, a player may end up starting a game with all characters’ level 4 limit breaks ‘learned’, but unable to be used. From what I remember reading an FAQ on the subject on GameFAQs there is no way of fixing this bug, so the only thing you can do is restart the game from the very beginning.

It should be worth noting that this only affects the Japanese and American versions of the game – it was fixed for the PAL release luckily.

Didn’t know of that bug. Haven’t played FFVII in years now so… /shrugs

I’m well aware of the bug/glitch and it didn’t have a condition like mine where I got Cloud to learn omnislash which is the first one to learn a final limit break and now Barret and the others can’t learn theirs and some just stopped growing.
