Well, I mean pieces that sound similar to… let’s say…
Blazblue- Queen of Rose
GGAC- Holy Orders
SMB- Hot Damned (C4 Light World)

Basically those tracks that you take an insta-liking to.
(Didn’t know how to phrase that in topic, feel free to suggest)

The Dark Cloud soundtrack might interest you.
Im not sure if you mean rock music or classical.
If you want rock try the black mages.

Try Tim Follin’s music (Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Follin)). He wrote for the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, NES, Genesis, and SNES during a long, brilliant career–and his music is usually fast-paced with faux-guitar solos and sequenced arpeggios, which I think is what you’re looking for.
I found this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G83jWTYDMMs) hilarious video on YouTube a year or two ago that summarizes his career nicely.
