I’ve seen there were already two threads for the video game XIII soundtrack. One (Thread 82159) is by Alpha23 and has its files in .ubi format; the other (Thread 72977) is posted by hotman and has its files ripped in .flac format by qwerty2010.
But both of them contain unedited lossless tracks. Lossless is good but is really heavy; and those unedited tracks are not cool to listen to as they are made of samples which are mixed together when you’re playing the game.
So, I’ve decided I would download qwerty2010’s ripped tracks and edit them so that each track has one beginning and one end and is more or less fluent. Something you can listen to on your mp3 player, too.
Because, yes, it’s no more in lossless but in mp3 format (192kbps).
I wanted this for myself but I realise one or two of you might be interested in some easy-to-listen-to OST. That’s why I share it here. But I repeat, I’m not the ripper of those tracks. qwerty2010 did the ripping.
One more thing, you have to know that the samples may not be mixed together in the exact same order as in-game. I just tried to make the samples fluently mixed together, that’s all. I consider the tracks too complex and similar to recognise which sample goes when and which goes then; and I didn’t want to play the entire game to check the order as playing like this kills the fun. I also got rid of a few tracks I found uninteresting because not with music but ambient sounds.
So, please, don’t complain because it’s not what you wanted. It’s true, I tell you, it’s what I wanted.
PS1: Please qwerty2010, don’t think I’m stealing your job. I am really grateful for your ripping. I just wanted something else than unedited lossless and thought some people might want it too.
