This one intersperses dialogue clip tracks with the music tracks.

The HorrorScoreMan LP rip custom collection of music audio tracks only download link gives Invalid or Deleted File message; Other links give MP3 versions of different issues; The 1980’s official The Shining Soundtrack LP went out of print and still hasn’t been re-issued on CD in this new century, due to legal battles by different companies over who has the rights to officially re-issue it.

The Shining soundtrack – unofficial retail CD issues

a) There was a Japanese 2000 limited edition CD with 60 individually-numbered copies issued in total; I’ve never managed to find a copy of it in any record store (nor any .flac audio files of it posted online), so I can’t say what the sound quality is like; All I’ve found are the credits:

Such an excellent soundtrack. King writes at the end of Dr. Sleep that he doesn’t understand why so many people thought the original movie was so terrifying. Guess he watched it with the sound off?

I posted this under requests, but seeing as it’s being discussed here I thought I’d post here also.

I’m looking for a clean, lossless rip of the original soundtrack (which was released on LP, but never made it to CD) preferably with hi-res cover scans.

A 24 track bootleg edition (which I have) was released on CD by ‘Roger’s Basement’ and contains extra music from the film that did not make it onto the LP, which is good; however, it’s unfortunately lossy and I *think* some of the tracks are alternative recordings, not the originals.

As mentioned above, there are other known releases that might be worth hunting down (particularly the latter):

I’m also searching for this in FLAC. I doubt it’s real (the guy who worked with WB on the re-release said that it was a well-made bootleg- which is why they only supposedly made 60 copies, kind of as a marketing ploy). But I would still love to listen to it.
