What this soundtrack is:
A compilation of music from the Complete Recordings, remixed thematically. This soundtrack represents a mix of all 10 CDs of the Complete Recordings from The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King, as well as the recently released Rarities Archive. In total, there are 19 tracks, each focused primarily on a single musical theme, comprising of over 175 separate cues. Think of it as a "Greatest Hits" remix of the LOTR scores.
What this soundtrack isn’t:
This isn’t an official release of LOTR music. This mix was created by an amateur fan, with no intention of making any profit whatsoever. The benefits and detriments of such a mix should be readily apparent. You do indeed get a condensed, easily accessible way to listen to some of the very best musical moments from one of the greatest film trilogies of all time. However, these mixes just barely scratch the surface of the full breadth and scope of Howard Shore’s opus — not to mention that my amateurish skills likely diminished some of the original tracks.
It is my sincerest hope that these mixes will not only be enjoyed, but also spark a renewed interest in the Complete Recordings. As such, if you enjoy these mixes, I strongly encourage you to look into purchasing the entire Lord of the Rings musical collection, including The Music of the Lord of the Rings Films book, which includes the Rarities CD. Listening to all eleven CDs is a journey in and of itself — and it is one that ought not to be missed.

Star Wars: The Ultimate Soundtrack
The Star Wars Ultimate Soundtrack was the culmination of my work in remixing the Star Wars scores. With this two-CD set I managed to compile nearly every musical cue that I enjoyed across all eleven Star Wars CDs, including some unreleased material I was able to locate on the internet. This is a definitive collection. I still go back to the individual soundtracks on occasion, but when I’m in the mood to listen to Star Wars, this is what I use. I’ve mixed over 125 musical cues into 18 thematically arranged tracks. This mix was completed a couple of years before my Lord of the Rings Ultimate Soundtrack, so it’s much rougher around the edges.
Also, much like the LOTR mix above, I encourage everyone to go out and purchase the Star Wars OSTs — especially the recently remastered versions. There’s far more excellent music on the OSTs than I could possibly include in any mix.
CD1:
01 – Running The Blockade (7:32)
02 – The Dune Sea (8:42)
03 – Duel of the Fates (9:48)
04 – Shroud of the Dark Side (8:27)
05 – Empire At War (9:01)
06 – March of the Battle Droids (7:27)
07 – The Dark Side Beckons (6:17)
08 – Millennium Falcon (11:42)
09 – Forbidden to Love (10:23)
CD 2:
01 – Revenge of the Sith (8:36)
02 – Age of Heroes (10:06)
03 – Shadows of the Empire (7:55)
04 – The Will of the Force (8:57)
05 – Aggressive Negotiations (8:00)
06 – The Jedi Council (9:42)
07 – Spring the Trap (8:14)
08 – Master and Apprentice (7:09)
09 – Celebrate the Light (11:37)

Miscellaneous Mixes:
Over the years I’ve tried dabbling in a few other mixes. Time constraints have kept me from making the same kind of progress I made with Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. But here a the results of those efforts: Three BSG mixes ("Adama Family," "Crossroads," and "Roslin & Adama"), a Pirates of the Caribbean Mix ("Here There Be Monsters") and a Hobbit Mix ("Misty Mountains"). Enjoy!
Could you do one for Star Wars and Indiana Jones?
Thanks for this 🙂

You are so right about that! I have ALL the recordings on an iTunes playlist and often listen to this wonderful music for an entire day at a time!

Right on! I know I said it above, but I strongly encourage everyone to go out and buy the CRs. I know they’re on the pricey side, but the packaging is exceptional and the music is phenomenal. Cue them up one after the other and it’s like spending the entire day in Middle Earth. Good stuff, for sure.

I’m sorry Jediknight12, I just saw this comment. I *do* have a Star Wars Ultimate Soundtrack, but I did that before my LOTR soundtrack, and the quality of the transitions isn’t as good. I can upload it, though, if you’re still interested. As for Indy, that’d make for an interesting project. I just might go ahead and do that — though I did have my sights set on a Pirates of the Caribbean mix, too. Any future projects will greatly depend on how much time I have to devote to them.
I absolutely agree (I bought/own them all myself)! Thanks again for your "custom fan mix". Cheers!
Wow! I Like all of those movies even Harry Potter
BTW It’s great work, man, it’s fantastic work – something I’ve do with James Horner’s ‘AVATAR’ – with my megasuite, but your work is something differently other. Like Kevin Flynn in trailer for new TRON says –
"..and one day… something happens, something… extraordinary. I’ve got in"
Regards, Z_F
Zero_flyer, Thanks for the compliments! Do you have a link for your Avatar megasuite? I’d love to check it out. By the way, I’ve added multiupload links in the first post — you may have have to scroll down in the spoiler tags to see them, but they should give you a few more options for you to try getting CD1.
CMD (CMD Multivision = Zero_Flyer and my elder bro Cloud M.D.)
Especially TNX for rapidshare.com => it rocks!

Thanks for the download Zero_flyer! I’ll listen to it and comment when I get back home a bit later this evening.

No its from the Rarities Archive that CD that came with a book it came out in October
You can download it from here if you like
Samuel, do you plan to add the Rarities queues to the decoder chart you’ve got there? This is really cool, I want to know what else you used from the Rarities.
Samuel Walters, question for you…Track 207, about 6:30 into the track, am I hearing the music from the ROTK Trailer???? At 7:05 I’m waiting for Sam to scream "NO!!!!!!!!!!" Is this track on the complete recordings? I don’t recall ever hearing it on the complete recordings.

Jediknight12 is correct. That cue is from from the ROTK trailer track off of the Rarities Archive that came with Doug Adams’ The Music of the Lord of the Rings Films book — which happens to be the best film score analysis … well, ever. In the track, the cue actually begins at about the 5:57 mark, building to that memorable "NO!" moment from Sam. I’m impressed that you both picked up on that!
Ah ok. I was looking here at his decoding chart: The Lord of the Rings The Ultimate Soundtrack | DauntlessMedia.net (http://dauntlessmedia.net/middle-earth/the-lord-of-the-rings/the-ultimate-soundtrack.html)

Ah! You caught me. I’ve been meaning to update that chart a bit. It represents "Version 1.0," so-to-speak, of the LOTR-US which I originally finished back in 2008. This weekend I’ll go back through and try to make sure it’s up to date. Offhand, though, I don’t think I’ve used anything else from the Rarities CD. I’m planning on eventually revising some of the tracks, to include other Rarities cues, but I haven’t gotten to them yet (part of the holdup is that I’m switching from a Windows-based Adobe Audition program to Mac’s Soundtrack Pro to do the mixing — and I’m still getting used to the new program).
This may sound stupid but I wonder if anybody has the Scans to the Rarities Book?
You mean the entire Doug Adams book? It’s 400+ pages. Well worth the investment for any LOTR music aficionado.

Yes the book by Doug Adams
EDIT:
Here’s the only scan I’m aware of … it’s my own copy with autographs from Doug Adams and Howard Shore. 😎
Thanks for your work!
Going to your website and seeing the page for the ‘Star Wars: Battle Suite" Makes me incredibly anxious to listen to the energetic pieces during a day when I’m feeling a bit slow or need those cues to boost my iPod full of beautifully evocative sounds!
If you would be so kind as to post the Star Wars Battle Suite collection, that would make this Star Wars fan very happy!
Thank you!
I too would be interested in the Star Wars Battle Suite, but for now I am more than happy with these Ultimate scores. Just… wow.
In case you can’t tell I love these edits, sir. Thank you again!
After listening to your Star Wars – Ultimate Soundtrack repeatedly for the past two years, I’m thrilled that you’ve re-uploaded your The Lord Of The Rings – Ultimate Soundtrack. As with ST-US, your thematic arrangement is excellent and your transitions are very smooth. To anyone who wants to hear well-organized versions of the best musical moments from Star Wars and The Lord Of The Rings, I recommend you listen to Samuel Walters’ soundtrack mixes!

Thank you very much for the high praise! It’s much appreciated!
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
Amazing work. These will have special places on my ipod for many years I’d imagine.
Thank you, both! I genuinely appreciate the feedback!
Can you please be a bit more specific about the tracks themselves and the manner in which they appear corrupt? If you can, I’ll take a look into the matter and, if necessary, provide a reup with clean files. Thanks!
Sorry Samuel – I redownloaded the file today and it’s all fine now. It must have been my side that corrupted the file the first time.
Anyway, congratulations for your stupendous work and many, many thanks!

It happened exactly the same to me. Just re-download it and works fine. Perhaps some error on mediafire…
Update: Nevermind, got it to work 🙂
But there it is. Thanks for great job Samuel :*
Thanks. Because I kept getting permission denied messages for CD 1 because of the James Galway song, I assumed CD 2 would be the same. However it was fine, and after about 3 attempts, I got CD1 to download as well!
