But why .ogg?
Edit: Link seems dead…
But pretty much everything else around here is .mp3 or .flac so I was wondering if there is something that’s better with .ogg…
Ah, cool. Could you please post these files in the format they were directly in the ISO, then? I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to the direct formats =P
I added the link to the *.aa3 files above. The smpl areas for decoded wave files are also included. =) Playing the files with WMP is sometimes possible with the atrac 3 codec installed, but it doesn’t support all formats. KMPlayer supports some formats more but no mono for example. :-\ Only possibility I’ve found is to decode the files with Sony SoundForge Pro. Has a batch converter included (in the Tools menu).
If you are interested in helping me ripping source files, I’d greatly appreciate that! PSP games are mostly very easy to rip. Just drop me a message if you’re interested to contribute to my project! =)
Thanks. Sorry if it sounded like I’m good with this sort of thing, I just like archiving the direct audio stuff. But, if they’re "very easy to rip" as you say, I’ll gladly give it a look. There are far too many good games that didn’t get official soundtrack releases/only got partial ones.
(mov) pw_kariendroll_A_latest_en = "Sing"
(mov) pw_kariendroll_B_latest_en = "Heavens Divide"
(mov) pw_op_ENG = "Perpetual Peace" (I named it after the book that the intro in the opening is from)
BGM_74 = "Snake Eater -piano instrumental-" (the song everybody’s probably looking for)
Finally!!! Thanks Alpha!!!
You can use Sony Sound Forge to convert them, I believe.
all of them lol i apologise if i sound stupid but i really have no idea how to convert At3s
i believe im looking for the one that plays during the retaliation cut scene and the false data one, there was another one that played when paz hijacked zeke
but there is also one im looking for that plays in the strangelove tapes you can also hear it in this cutscene YouTube – Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker – [25] Nicaragua (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yO2bDkoKZ2c&feature=related) it starts at about 1:45 and finishes at 3:40
thanks 🙂

where’s something you maight not like, but music during cutscenes cannot be ripped without voiceovers for a simple reason, it comes on a single audio file… specially considering all mgs games, the in-game music can be ripped no problem… for example on mgs2 if you rip the track when solidus flies on the harrier you got all sounds and voices, but if you rip music from a stage you got your clean music… or sometimes bgm have some background sounds like most of mgs2’s tanker engine parts and twin snakes outdoor bgm. hope konami will release this on some dlc or maybe the game gots an ngp re-release and we got a complete ost
but if that’s the case then how was he able to extract the snake eater piano instrumental music from a cutscene that had alot of voiceovers?
So, is this a game rip? because i don’t know quite what "streamed VGM" means.
But the main reason i want to bump this thread is because i want to ask, is there any tracks from the game that didn’t make it into the final original soundtrack and if they are in this rip? I’m a completest so when i get a soundtrack to a game i like i want to make sure i have every track and sometimes retail OSTs don’t have every track.
Thanks for awnsering.

Forget about that. how can i make the files sound like an mp3 archive?
If you don’t mind. Alpha23 isn’t coming back until august.
Shame i would’ve liked to have heard his secret to psp rips.
Can someone also help me out with my post above?
i think some tracks from this rip didn’t make it on the OST. Also, the OST
is missing a lot of cutscene music, so yea… this rip is also missing some
cutscene music, i might rip those, but don’t know when lol

no password, rar archive
Enjoy! 🙂

I don’t know what method he uses, but it’s not really a secret.
You have to open the UMD iso in UMDGen and extract the aa3/at3
audio files and go from there to convert them with other tools like
Sony atrac tools and sound forge i think.
If the umd iso doesn’t directly have the aa3/at3 files in a folder,
then you have to find the raw (binary) archive containing the music.
It is usually called pspsnd or something like that. Once you extract
that, use a software like FileScan3 (or ScanFile3) to locate the aa3/at3
files within the archive and from there you will need some extractor,
either manually doing it using hex skills (hex editor) or using a software
like FileScan3 that also has an export option… anyway 🙂
let us know when the cutscene music is ripped.
Well it’s not a dumb question, I was wondering that myself. I mean what is HD anyway?
If HD is the whole thing, then it HAS to have HD music, otherwise, it’s not a complete HD rendition.
