Short extract Enjott Schneider ? Wikipedia (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enjott_Schneider#cite_note-1)
Enjott or Norbert Jrgen Schneider (born 25 May 1950 in Weil am Rhein, until 1998) is a German composer, musicologist and lecturer.
Children of Swabia
Plot
A Tyrolean mountain village in 1885: When his wife is killed by an avalanche Kaspars father (Vadim Glowna) does not know how to go on. He, like all the others, sends his beloved son to the Swabian area, where the 8 year old boy is will for farmers in the lake Constance area. Under the lead of the so-called Cooperator (Tobias Moretti) Kaspar must cross the mountains on foot and the way through the snowy Alps holds deadly dangers. Kaspar survives this torture only to face another being sold on the market to the infamous farmer Steinhauser (Juergen Tarrach)
This visually stunning drama is like a fairytale gone bad, but the SCHWABENKINDER is a true story: Until World War I these children were sold at markets in Tettnang and Ravensburg.
Feature film, with Tobias Moretti, Vadim Glowna, Jrgen Tarrach among others. The music, unique to film music history, was also further composed as an independent mass: Enjott Schneider, SWABIAN CHILDREN’S MASS for soprano, tenor, choir and orchestra, world premiere on 20.7.2003 in the Munich Fraundom with Gabriele Steck (soprano), Hans-Werner Bunz (tenor), Munich Cathedral choirs and orchestra, conducted by Karl-Ludwig Nies

Tontrger Interpreten: with Gabriele Steck (soprano), Hans-Werner Bunz (tenor), Alexandra Gruber (solo clarinet), Thomas Ruge (solo cello), the Munich Philharmonic Film Orchestra, Munich Cathedral Choir, directed by Enjott Schneider

Thank you very much, Nikitos.
Well, Tpiom the life surprises us.
Nikitos also surprised me.
He has the true spirit of solidarity.
Therefore I added reputation and sent several PM to my friends of this forum.
It’s great to share … I understand your rejoicing
He has the true spirit of solidarity.
Thanks, Isaias Caetano for your very kind words 🙂
I don’t always react so quickly to requests for reup, because usually I don’t notice these requests directly on topics. (I’ve done here, I think, about 400 or more uploads by four years). – Well, it’s better to send me a PM.;)
…And one minor point: I’m a woman 😀
Scott
Woman or man you are a great person.
This TV-movie has NOTHING do do with "gunfire or shelling". It’s story takes place way before World War I.
Also, it is not really about german history, but rather about a long repressed austrian and suisse historical fact.
It’s a story about the poverty of tyrolian children (AUSTRIA), children from Vorarlberg (also Austria) and some parts of then very poor Switzerland, who are being brought to Germany by their families and sold to german farmers, so that their austrian and suisse families have something to eat. All of that in accordance, not only tolerated but with the help of the catholic church.
Therefore all the ecclesiastic tunes in the score!
Let’s call it a story about SLAVERY, that just wasn’t that well known and wide spred as the knowledge about afro-american slavery due to the fact that all in all "only" about 1500 suisse and austrian children had to suffer that fate. They are called "Schwabenkinder" (Children of Swabia), because Swabia (south-west area of Germany) was the richer (not rich) area to grow up. "Schwabenkinder" were the kids, that have been sent to Swabia (today "Schwabenland" or "Baden-Wrrtemberg") to work hard in order to earn some pennies for their families. Nowadays your MERCEDESes and PORSCHEs are being produced there (capital STUTTGART).
Basically, the truth behind the story is comparable to what’s going on TODAY in Bulgaria, Rumania, Thailand (Sex-Slavery) and parts of Africa (kidnapped children workers and boy-soldiers). Seasonal Mexican farm workers in todays California are not really that far from the story of the SCHWABENKINDER.
History repeats itself.
Therefore all the clerical tunes in the score!

I did not watch this film and not the Stalingrad.
My impressions are due to the emotional burden that the music conveys.
These notes upon the story occurred but hidden by the academies are enriching.
The cinema, sometimes fulfill this task of demystification.
I am thankful for their information judicious.
