While better, more complete re-recordings of Bernstein’s score for To Kill A Mockingbird exist, this is, I believe, the only release of music from the actual recording sessions for the film, although I could be remembering what I read incorrectly. This LP has been issued on CD, albeit with track 10 missing, but this is transferred from a decent record to cassette tape to digital format. (Not my favorite way – I prefer straight vinyl to digital, but I wasn’t the one doing the transferring, so far be it for me to tell anyone else how to do it. :P) The sound is fairly clean, although there’s occasional distortion and static and it’s definitely not audiophile quality. Nonetheless, I’ve chosen to share this gem in both MP3 and FLAC formats.

Excelente share, indeed! This movie aired here the day Gregory Peck passed away, and I loved it… never thought I’d be listening to the actual OST… thanks!
