What song or music from a anime got you started collecting and/or looking for anime music?

What song or music from a video game got you started collecting and/or looking for video game music?

In video games i have to say it was actually Final Fantasy 7, but trhe soundtrack that dedicated me was Chrono Cross and the NiGHTs OST.

In anime it was the vocal soundtrack from CatGirl Nuku Nuku and the battle scene from Robot Carnival, you know the one with the cool looking robot guy fighting all the monster robots and such.

Metal Gear Solid was good enough for me to buy the CD. With the main theme, Duel and The Best Is Yet To Come.

So i suppose that would be the first interest.

Than Jade Cocoon I remember writing a letter to the creators with compliments and asksing where I could buy the music.

I suppose the likes of Final Fantasy 8, Metal Gear Solid 2 and Dark Cloud sealed the deal.

Hearing the mgs theme in the mgs2 trailers was hair-raising.
