Special thank’s to furry bob for some of the sfx i couldn’t find and therefore couldn’t mute them.

Also, I would like to see NSMBWII and Super Scribblenauts to be next on your list, slippyToad.
P.S.: When you rip the variations on NSMBWII, make sure you rip the variations by themselves, not mixes.
Also, I would like to see NSMBWII and Super Scribblenauts to be next on your list, slippyToad. who do you refer to with ‘the guy’?
Otherwise great job.
I didn’t literally mean he actually had a complete soundtrack. I was referring to the name of the sountrack.
BTW, I would also like to hear a complete Paper Mario 64 soundtrack, even though it’ll take you a while. You’ve been working hard on your soundtracks, slippyToad. I’ve been looking for a complete Super Mario Sunshine soundtrack for years, and there it is, right here.

Paper Mario 64 is actually very easy, since there’s a USF-rip. Also NSBMWii is easy, since the soundtrack is not sequenced but streamed.
So far i can see only one track missing. The one in Noki Bay when you go underwater and get red coins from the giant coin fish.
Otherwise great job.
that is the same track as ‘the great sand bird’
The great sand bird is this one:
YouTube – Super Mario Sunshine – Sky & Sea (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kO51CeNwhNk)
The Red Coin Fish is this one:
YouTube – Super Mario Sunshine – Deep Sea of Mare (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayBfkGRnrcw)
You probably got confused with "Red Coins in the Bottle" (which is also on Noki Bay).
if more songs are missing, let me know.
Ditto and arigatou, ST-sama!!! 🙂
take your umbrella, a rain of thanks should come very soon.
Compare to this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcptI9zT-WM) at :26.
Actually, after listening to the video and then your version, there are supposed to be strings during the previous bit (the trombone or whatever before the trumpets playing the same notes), and I think there are strings missing throughout the entire version of your song… for example, :11 or so in the video compared to :13 or so in your version.

I noticed this too, but wasn’t sure if it was a big deal or not to bring up. Glad someone else noticed. Heh.

Yeah I noticed that too. It’s a shame really I thought for once someone would have ripped this awesome boss song properly.
to be honest, I thought the same. I still have a burned iso with the seagulls not muted(furry bob provided me a changed .aw file that muted these, but sadly also these sounds were muted) and I thought it sounded a little bit different on that one, but I thought it was just my imagination since it feels quite unnatural to play the game without SFX(Mecha-Koopa is freaking HARD without bullet bill sounds)
I see if aI can re-record them with the burned iso with the seagulls still in it and see if i can record them without these stupid birds ruining the recording. From this burn I know I only removed the sfx in 2ndload.aw(2ndload.aw only contains instruments used by pianta’s and noki’s playing an instrument) and the water sounds in w10scene.aw and w16scene.aw
edit: i re-recorded the boss theme themes from wiggler since there are no seagulls flying around during this star. Only one that is a problem is the gooper blooper one where seagulls are always flying around it.
edit: seems this old burn also has the string missing, but the trumpets seems to be fine. Seems I do need to look at 2ndload.aw

Thanks Slippy for all your hard work. Video Game Music enthusiasts all over the world will thank you.
Maybe that’s possible. This is recorded during the first encounter of shadow mario’s theme, because he’s easiest to follow without losing track of him and the song starts right away from the beginning.
Anyway, I uploaded the mp3 and flac links with the fixed boss themes. It’s a mixture of the muted sfx recording(only the first seconds) and the song played on the original discs when pausing the game by watching the map, so they should be complete now. I was hesitating if the boss theme actually had variations with strings playing or that different boss battles had different tempos(as Wiggler’s battle theme speeds up after every hit), but none of this seems to be true.
just compare it with the one you recieved. & you will know if you must dl it again or not.
ok, my mailbox says you wrote something else. I recently updated the rars, so you might have started downloading the old version and then I switched to the new version.
And don’t know why people give me the assignment to do Pikmin 2 next. I did do a Pikmin 1 rip with the PAL cutscene songs(they are 20% slower) and the Wii Channel intro too. Pikmin 2 has so much songs and variations and I’m not having enough spare time at the moment to do that rip, plus anyone can rip that game, since the game has an option to disable the sound fx. I still have a half-complete Donkey Kong Jungle Beat rip I should finish. That is one of the games where it’s impossible to record the soundtrack without sfx.
I also hear a little Go! beep in the start of the Mini-Game theme, the Red Coin Challenge theme, and the II Piantissimo theme.
Oh, and you can also pause the game with the Z button.

smithuser: Learn to read other replies to the thread before posting something dochey and demanding. The guy is fully aware of the boss theme and is working on it. When suggesting something, don’t act like a tool about it either.

I know the Go! beep sound. I can’t find it in the soundbanks to mute it. Sadly it’s quite noticable. But I think the red coin challenge song is playing during a shine sprite without the go! beep sound. Should see if I can find which one it was.
As for the goop piranha plant battle theme. You’re incorrect on muted instruments, but the song is actually longer. I haven’t checked the plungelo and phantamanta variations yet. In contrast to the shadow mario variations, this was a mistake in the remastering. But I’ll fix it ASAP.
The boss battle themes (Petey Piranha, Wiggler, etc.) are already fixed and if you downloaded the rar before, you can download the individual songs too.
And I should thank people for noticing the small mistakes I made. I release the preliminary soundtrack before I checked the songs myself because I know many of you can notice the mistakes earlier than I can.
slippyToad: I didn’t mean that the Goop Piranha/Plungelo/Phantamanta themes were missing instruments. I meant that they were longer. Both three of them were longer. About the mini-game themes, how about you have someone help you out?
P.S.: I don’t have a DVD burner, so I can’t help you out that much.
(Work the bugs out of those Galaxy tracks instead of doing Pikmin 2)
(Work the bugs out of those Galaxy tracks instead of doing Pikmin 2)
The Pianta Village track is recorded once, without any remastering, so if you hear a bit of fading out, you’re mistaken. Piantas in Need needed some remastering, because it’s only used during one episode in Pianta Village and it starts with the mayor talking to you right away lowering the volume of the music.
And the oop Piranha/Plungelo/Phantamanta songs are fixed too and the download links are fixed since yesterday evening(I was in bed when it was completed)
oops, didn’t update it properly. In the individual songs it’s repaired. The rar is being reuploaded at this moment
No, no, I don’t mean the volume drops. I mean you can hear the very end of a different piece of music fading out at the start. What happened is the very very tail end of "Level Intro" sneaked its way into your "Pianta Village" recording. Notice how the Pianta Village music doesn’t actually start until 0:01. Just lose the first second of the track and it’s fixed.
Ditto, and the rest of the tracks that are fixed!
I thought nobody would ever be able to get a clean rip…. I don’t know why a lot of people dislike this game, it is truly amazing! 😀
You have bringed joy to lots of hardcore vgm lovers around the world! Thanks again. =)
yes, a soundtrack of DKJB is partially done for quite some time by me. Finally all boss themes without SFX on it.
The only problem is that I wanted a complete soundtrack with all song variations, but most songs have about 18 variations and I can’t get all variations recorded sadly(not to mention most of them sound dull).
Also the boss song variations are quite a problem, especially the stunned variations since the stunned variation only plays for like 5 seconds I need to do a lot of remastering. Unless someone can provide me with midi channel select gecko codes for the pal wii version.
Pikmin 2 is not on my list to record since any other team can record these since there’s an option in-game to mute the sound fx. Who is working on it?
Which folder is this in?
judging by your question, you will probably need to download the 2 rar-files in the mp3 directory and extract them with a program like winrar.
if you’re talking about the FMV in this game, then i can tell you it’s impossible to do without voice acting. In-game it’s saved only with the voice acting and SFX mixed in it, so you can’t get the music only playing ever in the FMV

Hey slippy, wanted to ask if this track was ever addressed. If not, it’s no biggee because it’s barely noticeable in my opinion, but if there was an improved version, I’d definitely like to get my hands on it.
It’s just one channel.
edit: I tried to edit the files. Seems most FMV can be edited with the ‘reduce vocals’ reasonably well. After that a hum filter to remove some leftovers and they’re playable. Still they’re much lower quality than the original.
I have some tests at http://www.mediafire.com/?kbaay47f8cgb6
The FMV’s I didn’t post had to much reverb and reduce vocals proved to be inefficient

Couldn’t you switch the music files with Riivolution?
you play these FLAC’s in any good music playing program, not with bad programs like Windows Media Player.
But the MP3’s are also available to download. You’ve probably clicked the wrong folder.
Also I am planning to work on Super Mario Sunshine Remastered, recreating the entire soundtrack, even the ones with voices. So far I have four others helping me out.
Seconded.
Maybe we should give him a PM or visitor message
He’ll post it when he posts it- cool your jets, people.
I did check Pikmin 2, but that game’s also unrippable to have every variation(every dungeon track has Near Enemy, Fighting, Carrying, Working, Captain getting hit, Captain Low Health variation+ the outerior tracks have also the near Sundown variations) especially since the dungeon tracks have no distinct loop points and variations can be combined too. Luckily there’s a SFX off option in-game.
And Donkey Kong Jungle Beat has the same story, except the tracks have distinct loop points, but to make it even worse:
– there’s no SFX off option
– inside the AW files on the game iso the music instruments are everywhere. For example the small monkeys that play instruments at the end of the levels are somewhere in the big SFX file
– some SFX are still heard even when I mute everything. One of them is the getting hit sound.
– while i can mute 90% of the SFX, some of the instruments are also played for cues and can’t be muted(as with my Luigi’s Mansion rip with the ghost sucking songs)
– the music mutes when pausing, so I need to keep playing the game while the same variation of the song is still playing. This proves challenging in some of the boss levels.
– some variations can only be played for a few seconds, for example all the high combo variations, DK being struggled variation and when a boss is vulnerable for attack. Also I never managed to loop the vs. Iguanagon track, since even when you’re as slow as possible(and remember I can’t getting hit or you hear the getting hit sound) I can only make it play for 31 seconds.
– I noticed I muted some instruments for some of the variations, making some variations impossible to rip perfectly. The banana bouquet is one of them.
So current status:
Pikmin 2: with all variations, probably about 400 songs, done about 251 songs
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat: should end with 200 songs, done about 140 songs, probably going to release at is now.
Now working on Pikmin 2. Already on 364 songs. Has to do with every song having at least 6-8 variations. Valley of Repose and Awakening Woods and Dungeons are done. Perplexing Pool needs only Glutton Kitchen and Wistful wild needs all of them(shouldn’t take too long, since most songs are repeated in these dungeons).
EDIT: I haven’t been able to contact the other team working on Pikmin 2 for months now. Judging from your previous rips, I KNOW you can go above and beyond anything they’ll do. Your rips are amazing, man. Thanks for your tireless work on this soundtrack. It’s one of my, and I’m sure many others’, personal favorite soundtracks as well as my favorite game. Good luck with it and again, thank you.
I do jsut want to be sure of one point: do the mp3 rip in rar files contains the edited tracks? or it’s the older version of the rip?
(because the edited folder presented in the download page contains only .flac file, so i wonder if he already included them in the .rar files)
Can anyone answer me please?
PS 2: I have found in an older game rip, 4 tracks whose 2 are SFX that you did not include though they may be appropriate to add:
track:
1. Rollercoaster song
2. Merry-go-round track in pinna park
sfx:
1. Level select (right when u choose a level)
2. And particle entry (entering apipe sound)
P.S: someone already asked same question than mine but he got not answer.

What Rollercoaster song? the song played during Mecha Koopa is there. The track played when shooting balloons is also used elsewhere and included. I thought it was the red coin challenge song or the race song
And the merry-go-round track is also included.
Only thing not included are the pianta’s or noki’s playing a musical instrument or singing a song.
How they were achieved, is, according to furry bob, the game was ‘hacked’ more or less so that it played any sequence (audio) from the game, I think like a kind of ‘music modifier’.
How he actually got the Yoshi parts, I’m assuming that originally Yoshi was going to be in those stages, and that the Yoshi drums were left on the disc.
