Enjoy & Please Say Thanks 🙂
But I really have to say, for Clint Mansell-measures that one really sucks.
I mean what is that supposed to be? A kinda rip-off of Bach, Beethoven and Co. ?
That’s the guy who brought us Lux Aeterna, Dead Reckoning, Death is the Road to Awe and many more bombastic themes.
Nothing of that is left on this album.
The one halfway decent is Cruel Mistress and "Power, Seduction, Cries" sounds like it comes straight from the Oldboy-OST.
Okay, I get the thing with the classical touch like the Swan Lake-part in "Stumbled Beginnings" but please….
Like I said – imho sucks for being a Clint Mansell one!
Thanks!! Now I just have to see this one.
7% of this score is Mansell, if that, and it was rightly so disqualified from getting any sorts of nominations in thouse areas.
If there is one thing that makes me roll my eyes more than anything, it’s when people are praising somebody where that praise is both absolutely undeserved and entirely inaccurate.
To the people this post is directed towards, I suggest you seek out Swan Lake. I have nothing more I wish to say on this matter.
F.i. If you love John Williams, you’ll love Tchaikovsky as well.
Honestly I need to hear the soundtrack, but I cannot imagine that Mansel had even the option to diverge too much from the original music. The story, and so must the music, is integrated into the entire movie…
